Raid on HH’s in-law village: Police Acted within the law, Kampyongo tell Parliament

Share

Home Affairs Minister Stephen Kampyongo says the police acted within the confines of the law when they searched village headman Polobe’s house in Shibuyunji District last week.

The Minister was responding to questions raised by Mwembeshi Member of Parliament Machila Jamba during the question and oral answer session in parliament.

Mr. Kampyongo said there was reasonable ground for searching the place adding that similar operations were conducted in Chisamba and Chibombo districts.

He said the outcome of the search cannot be disclosed because the matter is still under investigation.

And Mr. Kampyongo said it is important for the Zambia Police service to carry out their duties without interference from the public.

He has warned that the law will take its course on anyone found wanting and that people should not politicize the search conduct on the village headman’s house.

  1. What a shame. A search based on hearsay. Don.t we have security officers who can conduct a search in a reasonable without raising dusty to the public. Tell us the reasons why that house was searched.

  2. Hopefully you found what you wanted? But just a reminder that a search by heavily armed police ain’t a laughing matter. Think of the unnecessary trauma that you created on those poor villagers, many of who have never seen an air gun

  3. This is an admission that ZPS was directed by him to go and raid HH’s in Law’s Village for the purpose of planting weapons to incriminate HH. The raid was Politically motivated with the sole aim of Convicting HH in Court and remove his name on the 2021 Ballot Paper. We know that ECL will not rest until HH is disqualified from standing in the 2021 Elections. Will this strategy work? Time will tell.

  4. Lies …..on top of lies to cover underlying lies which are piled in top of lies…..

  6. What is a crime is the poverty in that village when hh stole billions during privatisation. Wakaso. The police officers who attended cried when they saw how poor these guys are. The police officers are currently seeking counselling due to that experience.

  7. ‘People should not politicise the search,’ he says, but this is a political search. I wake up every morning and pray, Lord, how did we end up having such people as our leaders? What have we done wrong as Zambians to be denied selfless, intelligent leaders of integrity? We have been given liars, crooks, thieves and hypocrites for rulers. Men who are fit to be in jail are in office.

  10. Bamo they are sponsored to talk about HH in every article. Blind loyalty is very dangerous! I cannot understand how someone would hate a person to such an extent. Question is why are the same type of people targeted? Some Ministers with blood on their hands are not searched but innocent people are. Bwafya bane the way our Law is applied. Fili uko tuleya. God help us!

  12. Why didn’t you resign after these utterances?
“Awe kachepa sana. We are in charge …we are serious operatives. In fact kulefwayika fye kafwile mu jele. Ni mweba Amos you are too soft this should have been done immediately we came from Mongu,” said Kampyongo.

  13. A German court has rendered its first verdict in a historic trial of two former Syrian military officials implicated in crimes against humanity after almost a decade of war in Syria.
Eyad al-Gharib, a 44-year-old former member of Syria’s intelligence service, was sentenced to 4 1/2 years in jail “for aiding and abetting a crime against humanity in the form of torture and deprivation of liberty,” said judge Anne Kerber.
Prosecutors charged that Gharib, the lower ranking of the two officers in the case, rounded up at least 30 anti-government protesters in the Syrian city of Douma in 2011 and delivered them to a notorious detention facility in Damascus, where they were tortured.
“It is right, it is fair,” Anwar al-Bunni, a Syrian lawyer and activist, says about the verdict. Bunni…

  14. PF must be very careful!
    What goes around comes around!
These PF leaders will never have peace when they leave office because they are creating too many enemies, including people they have impoverished through their economic mismanagement!
Could it be the bl00d on their hands that is confusing them?
    KARMA is a bitc!

  15. The ZPS was directed to plant weapons so that they can incriminate HH for illegally possessing arms to overthrow an elected Govt. The Plan is to remove HH’s Name from the Ballot Paper for 2021 Elections. Will the Plan work with CK exposed? People will not vote sellouts like CK. The writing is on the wall.
