Late President Sata would be happy with Prof Luo as Vice President-Former First Lady

Share

Former first lady Dr. Kaseba Sata, late President Sata’s widow, has expressed happiness with President Edgar Lungu’s choice of running mate ahead of the August 12 elections and also disclosed that Professor Luo was one of late President Sata’s favourite Ministers.

Speaking via a telephone interview with ZANIS, Dr. Sata revealed that Prof. Nkandu Luo was one of the few Ministers late President Sata would confide in or consult when he needed sound advice on certain matters.

‘’First of all, allow me to congratulate my dear sister Prof Nkandu Luo on being chosen as President Edagr Lungu’s running mate and I wish her success. I want to tell my fellow citizens of Zambia through you that my late husband and Republican President of Zambia Micheal Sata would be happy with President Edgar Lungu’s running mate because Prof Luo is a hardworker and a strong character,” Dr. Kaseba Sata said.

“My husband too was a strong character and I think he saw himself in her. Many people don’t know this hence the reason why I want to share this important information – Professor Luo was one of the few Ministers President Sata would confide in or consult when he needed professor or sound advice,’’ said Dr. Kaseba.

Dr. Kaseba who is Zambia’s Ambassador to France expressed confidence in Prof Luo and believes that she has what it takes to deliver in the office of the Vice President because she is experienced, matured and level headed.

She also called on Zambians to rally behind President Edgar Lungu and Prof Nkandu Luo because the duo have the interest of Zambians at heart.

  4. Maybe Sata would be happy because Luo fought Sosala and GBM to near death. GBM resigned.
Now let’s see how HH’s running mate GBM will mobilize the Bembas for Luo.
    Luo for president? Muli finangwa!

  7. You lost your moral standing when you denied Michael Sara a dignified end to a life well lived. You turned State House into a hospital. The Country was on auto pilot for too long to allow criminals regroup, even those Mr Sata had chased from government. Your opinion is so unwelcome! People in Zambia should learn and know when their public lives and usefulness are over!

What Mr Sata would have thought is all conjecture! Sorority of THIRD TERM disappear!

    Bye!

  11. I’m not sure why some people are rejoicing prematurely. Imagine if the two lose the election, unless someone is telling us that this year elections already have a leakage. PF will self distract, too many selfish people.

  12. Ba KZ being president does not mean anything, It is just a job, it is nothing special. Even if one is president, it does not exempt them from anything, they are still subject to the laws of nature.

  13. Lazi a president has immunity which you a mere citizen doesn’t have. Please have respect for that office.

  15. ECL and Luo will make a weak opposition to the government.

We really need to have a strong opposition to make sure the new president does not go the same way as the one before him.

Let us not give HH a chance to become a corrupt thief and over borrow.

  16. Yes indeed Sata was the smartest politician who formed his own party and went into state house , next to him was Mazoka, Sata was a strong and experienced leader among politicians who could do what the so called educated couldn’t do as for professor Luo she is a hard worker who could be in trusted with difficult duties and would achieve the goal.
She is a professor indeed and she has the potential to be the next president after Lungu finishes his term .
As for Kanwanja if you don’t talk about history then you can not do anything for the future , people have a right to reference to history .
History makes up the future so for the intelligent history is important because it repeats itself anything without history is fake.

  17. I simply don’t give a damn about what Sata thinks anymore. I don’t vote based on other people’s opinions I vote for me and who I feel right. I don’t do it to appease either the dead or the living. The country won’t be restored to prosperity by always trying to please the dead. It’s not for the dead that we are voting but for us living today and those after us.

  18. Zambian diplomats do not know that they are civil servants and should be non-partisan. You support the government of the day and not the persons in government. This is why Zambia wastes millions of dollars in repatriations whenever there is a new President. We cannot carry on like this. I am very disappointed with this last quote from Amb Dr Kaseba-Sata. If Prof Luo was that important to President Sata why did he not at any time make her act as President? Sata and Luo are both Bisas and their agenda was to unseat Sossala. This is the confidence he had in her.
