2. Common sense tells me that you cant sell certain commodities in South Africa at a higher price and sell them in Zambia at a lower price after the transportation costs. E.g Pick n Pay, Choppies, Shoprite, Game Store etc are all from South Africa. So those commodities from South are supposed to more more expensive when on the Zambian market due to transportation costs. Lets not be political for nothing. Anything to do with food in South Africa is cheaper than in Zambia. what is expensive in South Africa than in Zambia is anything to do with clothing.

This is one of the reasons that’s causing diesel shortages, apart from the loading challenges in Mozambique. We need to raise the level of our political debate if we have to develop our country. Farmers will sell their maize to FRA at K150 per 50kg bag but somebody wants to buy mealie mill at K50! It doesn’t work like that. That’s why in Zambia it’s possible to elect an idyoti.     Price of fuel is 16 rand and equates it to k28 in Zambian Kwacha and concludes that it’s cheap.

    For starters our Zambian kwacha has lost so much value, the Kwacha at it’s worst was 1:1 against the rand.
    You now need more Kwacha to buy rand.

You cannot compare food prices to other countries, we should ask ourselves what is the impact of the trillions spent on the farmer FARMER INPUT SUPPORT PROGRAM (FISP) and FRA and justify whether it is fertilize support program. These two are supposed to have an impact on prices if well articulate and not being as a campaign tool for the ruling government E.G. giving six bags of fertilizer in some parts of the country and and three bags in some as FISP you would wonder because in all areas they paid a ka K400.
