RUGBY: Champions Arrows Open 7 Point Lead

Defending champions Arrows have opened a seven point lead at the top of the National Rugby League following their latest win at the weekend.

Arrows thumped Nkwazi 28-3 in the Week 11 match in Lusaka to move to 42 points after playing 10 games.

Arrows scored tries by Edmond Himayuwa, Alex Mwewa, Birthrock Sikaona and Gift Kabungo as Terry Kaushiku made four conversions.

Nkwazi scored a penalty through Butemwe Koloko.

Arrows earned a bonus point for scoring four tries.

Second placed Mufulira Leopards have 35 points after playing nine games.

In the Kitwe derby, KPF edged rivals Diggers 20-13 at Kitwe Playing Fields.

Tatenda Kasorota and Mulimbika Mwale scored tries for KPF as veteran Benaya Mukwamba scored a conversion and later scored a penalty.

Diggers scored a try through Ben Chilupula, which was converted by Stephen Hunduza, who also scored two penalties.

Diggers earned a bonus point for losing by less 7 points.

KPF are number four on 21 points and Diggers remain second from the bottom with 10 points from 11 games played.

Meanwhile, Eagles were on bye.
