OPPOSITION Patriotic Front (PF) Kamfinsa Member of Parliament Hon Christopher Kang’ombe has said a lot of people have continued expressing interest to contest the party presidency because of the value that it exhibits.
Hon Kang’ombe said there is currently a certain admirable level of competition in the party because of what it still has to offer to Zambian politics.
The Kamfinsa lawmaker was speaking when he featured on a live radio interview on Millenium radio yesterday.
He said people cannot compete for something which has no value to offer to their endeavors.
“People cannot declare interest to take over a political party that has nothing to offer them. The reason why they want to take over the party leadership is that PF has a lot of value that will stand the test of time,” Hon Kang’ombe said.
He highlighted that the number of PF Members of Parliament is meant to give support to anyone who takes over the party leadership.
Hon Kang’ombe adds that the infrastructure development that the party implemented over its ten-year period of being in government is unprecedented and it will stand as testimony to what the PF can do.
He said people should not mistake the competition to contest the party presidency for a leadership crisis in the party.
“It is normal for any democratic party to exhibit a certain level of competition to lead the party but that should never be mistaken for leadership wrangles,” Hon Kang’ombe said.
He further said there is a need to harness the value that the party has even as it goes through the rebranding and rebuilding process.
Hon Kang’ombe has since called for the blending of the experienced politicians with the new crop of politicians with new ideas because the time to practice the old ways of politics is long gone.

THE HIGH NUMBER OF PEOPLE VYING TO CONTEST THE PRESIDENCY IN PF IS NOT THAT THE FORMER RULING PARTY IS STILL VERY ATTRACTIVE BUT BECAUSE THE PARTY HAS FALLEN APART. THERE WAS NO PROPER SUCCESSION PATH IN PF, IT WAS EDGAR CHAGWA LUNGU MAKING PERSONAL APPOINTMENTS WITHOUT ALLOWING THE GENERAL MEMBERS CHANCE TO VOTE FOR LEADERS OF THEIR CHOICE. THE MANY PEOPLE WHO ARE JOLSTLING FOR THE PRESIDENCY IS A SIGN OF INDISCIPLINE AND LACK OF DIRECTION AS EVRY JIM AND JACK IS POSITIONING THEMSELVES TO CLAIM PIECE OF THE PF CARCASS. THERE IS SUPPOSED TO BE ORDERLINESS IN THE PROCESS OF COMING WITH AFEW NAMES BEING FLOATED BEFORE SUBJECTING THEM TO AN ELECTION AND AN EXTRA ORDINARY ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OR CONFERENCE. AS THE POSITION IS IN PF ITS BLAME GAME FOR THE LOSS AND NO ONE IS ATKING…

I had written off Amos Chanda after his insults on wayward Kambwili some time back, but I like his maturity lately, and his statement that PF can not rebrand by just issuing statements is very timely, and I hope people like Given Lubinda, Kambwili and Nakachinda who have no clue on what rebranding means can learn one or two things from Amos. For now, I think Amos is the best person to lead PF to its rebranding, the old members are still as arogant as ever and may take the party into oblivion they way they did with MMD. It appears no lessons have been learnt. PF failed to fulfill its campaign promises in ten years and they want HH to fulfill promises in three months, very unreasonable
PF has no value, the number of people jostling to lead it is due to lack of unemployment in the country, remember they feed of politics, so don’t mislead yourselves again the way you did before August 12

There are some good People in PF. However, too many crooks and evil minded people like Kambwili. We are waiting to see how the Presidential election will go. If you want to Rebrand the Party, You the younger ones block Block those old Vultures.
