THE Patriotic Front (PF) shall remain focused and will not be detracted by people scheming to cause confusion and weaken the party, Stephen Kampyongo has said.
Mr Kampyongo, the PF Chief Whip says the former ruling party shall remain united and that no form of machinations will make the party lose its focus.
He stated that the PF would wait until injunction against Mr Lubinda and Mr Chilangwa from acting as president and secretary general respectively was dealt with by the High Court.
“We are aware of the machinations that have been put in place to cause confusion as we are working on rebranding but let them know that we are miles ahead. We know they want the party to be detracted and lose focus but they will not succeed. The PF has been through this before and what is happening is nothing worry about, Mr Kampyongo said.
And Wright Musoma has charged that the actions being pushed by Matero Member of Parliament Miles Sampa have the capacity to divide the former ruling party.
Mr Musoma said that the recent ruling by the High Court to suspend acting president Given Lubinda and secretary general Nickson Chilangwa was a misrepresentation of justice
He said the UPND was very nervous and that it was trying by all means to ensure that the party did not survive a comeback in 2026.
He said what the party needed was unity and not what was happening at the moment were the party’s acting president and his CEO were suspended.
“I want to urge Mr Sampa to reflect on his actions because they have the potential to wreak havoc and diminish the party’s chances of bouncing back in 2026,” he said.

The high court interim injunction against the acting officers is clearly judicial overreach and possibly misconduct. The most logical response would have been to grant Miles the ex-parte injunction restraining the acting officers from administering disciplinary action against him. Effectively removing the officers from their positions is an extreme relief to be granted at this stage.
