Race for National League slots in motion

Forest Rangers Myooye and Mathkat United are the pacesetters as the FAZ National Division One playoffs in Lusaka reach the crucial stage.

Champions from ten FAZ Provincial Division One leagues are competing for four National League spots.

In Group A, Forest lead with six points after two straight wins.

The Copperbelt side thumped Mpande Youth Academy on Wednesday to open a two-point gap at the top.

Play It Forward sit third on four points from two games but can still go top.

Solwezi Mushitala and Barotse Crocs are bottom with one point each.

Crocs drew 0-0 with Play It Forward on Wednesday.

In Group B, Mathkat top the pool with six points from three matches despite losing 1-0 to Mikalile in their latest fixture.

Nampundwe are second with four points from two games.

Copperbelt’s Zambezi Portland are third on four points from three matches after beating Real Nakonde 2-1 on Tuesday to revive promotion hopes.

Mikalile and Real Nakonde occupy the bottom two places in Group B.
