Nkwazi Football Club players and three technical bench members have been promoted by the Zambia Police Service High Command for dedication and outstanding service.
The promotions were handed over yesterday by Assistant Commissioner of Police Juve Zulu, who represented the Inspector General of Police.
Goalkeeper Coach Samuel Ngulube moves to Chief Inspector, Young Nkwazi Coach Mwila Nchimunya and Assistant Coach Michael Bwalya rise to Inspector, while Club Captain Derrick Mwansa is promoted from Sergeant to Inspector.
Assistant Coach Terence Mwansa, Media Officer Jeff Mwape Chishimba, Administrator Lawrings Tembo, Accountant Nelson Mtonga and 11 players were promoted from Constable to Sergeant.
The players are Emmanuel Chabula, Innocent Kashita, Pride Mwansa, Crawford Mwaba, Bernard Kumwenda, Erick Chomba, Bradley Mweene, Lukas Mainza, Nelson Mwila, George Ndlovu and Mathews Mashimikilo.
Acting Sports Director Superintendent Teddy Shimishi thanked Police Command for approving the promotions, saying they would motivate sports personnel to excel while maintaining professionalism.
Mr. Zulu urged the officers to remain hardworking and disciplined in both policing and football duties.
He also delivered the Inspector General’s message ahead of the Transition League, challenging Nkwazi to stay focused and determined.
The club said the promotions come as a morale booster ahead of the new season.
