The Ngoni Royal Establishment (NRE) has commended President Hakainde Hichilema for the support rendered during the funeral and burial of the late Paramount Chief Mpezeni IV.
Speaking in an interview with the media, as a representative of the Royal Establishment, Senior Chief Nzamane, expressed gratitude to the government for the assistance provided during the mourning period.
The traditional leader also thanked President Hichilema for personally standing in solidarity with the Ngoni people and the people of Eastern Province.
Paramount Chief Mpezeni IV died on May 30,2026 after being on the throne for 44 years.
Senior Chief Nzamane, said the province has benefited from Government programmes, particularly in agriculture, describing Eastern Province as the country’s agricultural heartland.
He has further praised Free Education, saying it has enabled more children to remain in school and created better opportunities for the next generation.
Chief Nzamane also called on the people of Eastern Province to unite behind President Hichilema’s leadership, urging Zambians to assess the performance of successive governments since independence before making electoral decisions.
The traditional leader cited initiatives such Social Cash Transfers (SCT) as programmes that have positively impacted communities.
Senior Chief Nzamane further appealed for peaceful political participation, noting that Zambia has maintained a record of peaceful elections and should preserve that legacy.
The traditional leader encouraged citizens to avoid what he termed “political experiments” and instead consider giving the United Party for National Development (UPND) Government another term to continue implementing its development programmes.
