The stepfather Mike Kapangula 55, of Kalongwezi Extension reported that his step daughter, Mwiinga Hamoonga 25, was found dead in the toilet.
Brief facts of the matter are that the deceased went to sleep on July 05, 2026 at around 21:00hrs in her bedroom where she sleeps alone.
When other members of the house woke up, they discovered that the deceased was not in her bedroom.
They thought she had gone somewhere until around 11:00hrs when they discovered that the door to the toilet was locked.
“They peeped through the window and saw her seated on a toilet pan and leaning on the wall,” Mweemba said.
Mr Mweemba said the family members forced the toilet door open and discovered that she had died and was half naked.
“The reporter also revealed that the deceased had a mental disorder. A physical inspection was conducted on the body and no injury was seen, but the tongue was protruding,” he said.
Mr Mweemba further stated that the body has since been deposited in Chipata Central Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem to determine the cause of death.
“Family and the Police suspect foul play, and that Investigations into the matter have since been instituted, “Mr Mweemba added.
