President Hichilema promises Kafulafuta residents sustained development

President Hakainde Hichilema has appealed to the people of Kafulafuta Constituency in Masaiti District and Zambians across the country, to vote for the United Party for National Development (UPND) in the upcoming General Elections to sustain the country’s economic transformation agenda.

Speaking at a public rally in Kafulafuta Constituency, President Hichilema said his administration remains committed to expanding development in key sectors such as education, health and agriculture to improve the lives of citizens.

President Hichilema urged voters to elect leaders with a clear vision for national development, saying a renewed mandate would enable his government to create more employment opportunities, particularly for young people.

“Let us continue going forward with development, peace and unity, so people of Kafulafuta I’m urging you to vote for me and the UPND for free education, Constituency Development Fund (CDF) among others,” he said.

President Hichilema further encouraged the electorate to make informed decisions at the polls by supporting the UPND instead of individuals he said had previously mismanaged the country’s resources.

He also pledged to improve the road infrastructure in Kafulafuta to facilitate the movement of people, goods and services, while calling on residents to vote in large numbers to retain the party in government.

President Hichilema noted that works on the Lusaka–Ndola Road were progressing well and assured the public that his government would continue rehabilitating and constructing roads in other parts of the country to enhance economic growth if voted back into office.

On education, President Hichilema said his administration had recently enacted the Free Education Policy into law to guarantee continued access to free education for learners.

President Hichilema reminded residents that the government had recruited more than 45,000 teachers since taking office and pledged to employ more if re-elected to further improve the quality of education.

“That is why you people of Kafulafuta need to vote for this President, Member of Parliament and Councilors, you must vote uniformly for us and not independent candidates,” he said.

In the agriculture sector, President Hichilema pledged to expand the Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP) to increase agricultural production and strengthen food security.

“Our aim is to increase FISP for our farmers to scale-up their farming activities to promote food security and alleviate poverty, so your votes people of Kafulafuta are key for us to actualise all these things,” Mr Hichilema added.

President Hichilema also assured residents that his government would address the area’s long-standing water challenges and improve access to electricity, education and health services.

“We will indeed ensure we provide electricity, water, streaming the education and health facilities, all that is dependent on your votes people of Kafulafuta,” he said.

Meanwhile, UPND Copperbelt Province Chairperson, Elisha Matambo, urged the people of Kafulafuta to support President Hichilema in the August General Elections, saying his re-election would ensure the continuation of the country’s development agenda.

Mr Matambo said another term for President Hichilema would accelerate infrastructure development and improve the welfare of citizens.

Zambia will hold its General Elections on August 13, 2026 to elect leaders in various portfolios.
