First Lady Ester Lungu has donated K15, 000 towards the construction and renovation of Zambia Air force (ZAF) Hospital.

Mrs Lungu donated the money when she officiated at the luncheon organised by the Air Power Ladies Club and Zambia Air force at Chamba Valley Air Headquarters officers mess in Lusaka yesterday.

She applauded the Zambia Airpower Ladies Organisation for organising the fundraising luncheon and that the event is in line with government’s goal of providing quality health care to all Zambians.

Mrs Lungu noted that quality health care provision should be priority for all well-meaning stakeholders especially Zambians.

She stated that the ZAF hospital will not only benefit ZAF personnel but also surrounding communities.

She also noted that as much as it is government’s responsibilities to provide quality health care for all Zambians, it cannot achieve everything alone but that citizens needed to be on board to supplement government’s efforts.

And Air Power Ladies Patron, Sharron Chimese said ZAF Air Force Hospital, is not the only great strides of the Club’s good works saying that the club has been involved in other projects aimed at raising the living standards of the Zambia Air Force bases and surrounding communities.

The Luncheon organised by the Power Ladies Club, raised over K50, 000 at which hundreds of spouses to ZAF officers and other ordinary members attended the luncheon.

  1. . Weldone Air Commander. You have really worked hard to improve the Airforce. Job Weldone. I am proud of you.

  2. Was this taxpayers money or her own personal money?

She must be very rich to give away cash like this
Can ZAF not afford it? They get s budget allocation.

Or is this just for publicity purposes?

  3. Shouldn’t we be building the Zambia Air Force a hospital through government?

It is beyond my comprehension that ZAF needs donations for a strategic hospital.

  4. How can she donate to construction of a public facility where is she getting the money? Is it not taxpayers money?
