Plan to make Ngabwe the capital city is just another PF ploy to plunder-UPND youth Coordinator

United Party for National Development (UPND) Youth Affairs National Coordinator Kenny Ng’ona has charged that the plan to make Ngabwe is city is just another Patriotic Front (PF)’s planned way of purloining huge sums of money into their pockets.

Ng’ona said every step the PF government takes one has to be very analytical and observant because the PF leadership is only there for self-aggrandizement.

He noted that his analysis over the planned change of the city of Lusaka to Ngabwe as capital is indeed a ‘hyenas’ plan of wanting to finish up every little coin in the country’s treasury.

Ng’ona accused PF led Government of only being good at purloining money from public coffers and noted that PF members made a lot of money from the roads contracts which he termed as dubiously allocated to Zambian and Chinese contractors.

He observed that most of the roads especially in Lusaka the capital city of Zambia were badly done and have already started having potholes because of their substandard nature.

Ng’ona insisted that PF members in leadership’s main interest were and still is to pocket more money in their pockets, adding that he has observed how the PF have misused monies and how they have been failing to complete the many developmental projects that were started by the late Michael Sata.

He cited the Kitwe-Chingola dual carriage way which has become a white elephant and many unfinished infrastructure developmental projects across the country.

“I have few simple questions for them, do they as government have the financial capacity to build a new capital City in Ngabwe? Will they be able to move parliament buildings to Ngabwe? Will they be able to move all the embassies to Ngabwe? Will Lusaka remain as an administrative capital or what? Lucky Mulusa should give Zambians proper projections and timelines to what his office which is at state house is intending to do”

“RDA was moved to state house and maybe Mulusa wants Ngabwe city to be built from state house. Implementation of the Ngabwe city project as Mulusa suggests is a good idea to a government that is able to implement, but as it stands the PF government cannot implement this project. Yes at planning stage they can plan but implementation stage is farfetched”

“They will just put more money in their pockets. That is their plan and Mulusa is not alone, there is a force behind his plan. Zambia is engulfed in a lot economic problems which the PF should make sure they sort out immediately. Why allow Zesco to increase tariffs? Soon fuel will be increased and all other commodities will increase. Economic hardships are at the increase for every middle class citizen in our country Zambia. Let Mulusa concentrate in turning Solwezi into a City” Ng’ona said

  1. Lusaka wasn’t planned well in the beginning. It was planned for a much smaller population. The problem is that they allowed shanty compounds to blossom in the peripheral of the? city center therefore making it difficult to expand.

    • “Will they be able to move all the embassies to Ngabwe?”………why would it be the responsibility of the government to move embassies?
“He cited the Kitwe-Chingola dual carriage way which has become a white elephant”……..since when did it become a white elephant? Drive there and you’ll see that the works are on going.
“Let Mulusa concentrate in turning Solwezi into a City”………I see no link between moving the capital city to Ngabwe and turning Solwezi into a city.In one breath breath you’re saying “implementation of the Ngabwe city project as Mulusa suggests is a good idea” in another you’re saying “it’s a planned way of purloining huge sums of money into their pockets”…….where are you standing ba Ng’ona cause ‘you’re neither here nor there’.

    • Lusaka can be upgraded. There are cities like London and Paris that keep on being upgraded over centuries, from iron age shacks to modern skyscrapers. The Lusaka shanties will be upgraded not by PF but private enterprise. And if Lusaka cannot grow sideways into Lusaka rural then it will grow upwards like Hong Kong. Zambians should get used to multistorey living. We need raised motorways for fast entry into and exit from CBD. Consider trams and metros. Maybe even underground trains.

  2. This party is always retrogressive. What,s wrong with it.It said people won,t eat roads, but the same party is enjoying the benefits of having roads which are intra country connections. No wonder it chief leader baptised himself as the chief moron!!
