Algeria Stay Top of Group C

Share

Algeria stayed top of Group C after beating Rwanda 3-1 in Blida this evening.

Algeria shift from 10 to 13 points, three ahead of Egypt whom they face in the Group C climax in Cairo on November 14 to decide which side goes to the 2010 World Cup.

The result means Zambia need only a draw away in Kigali to book their place at next January’s Africa Cup finals to join Algeria and Egypt.

Zambia are on 4 points in 3rd place while Rwanda are 4th and bottom with 1 point.

  1. @shimaster

Why are you calling Algerians Talibans? Would you like it if i call you a Fu$%^ N*****, I guess not. So take it easy with the rudeness. Its not our fault that you guys suck at soccer.

  2. Naz, please do not ever type and complete that word ever again. If Shimaster called you taliban we all did not call you that. The rest of us do not even hold on to football like that and you come and spread slander on a Black dominated blog. I was going to personally handle shimaster because I do not tolerate vileness. Shimaster please apologise to Naz before as a christian twamutuka i.n.s.e.l.e; I do not want to sin. It was a game and the team that fought for it won. I was once a monko at UNZA so I thus can shoot, but thank the Lord he saved me.

  3. As a proud African, i would never say that word, Simply because i consider all Africans to be my brothers. I was only trying to make a point, because calling an Arab, taliban or a terrorist is deeply offensive.

    Regards,

  4. Great response Naz, I apologise on behalf of Shimaster. Like earlier stated football is a game that must have a loser in competition format, it’s what makes it beautiful. If Algeria qualifies it is because they have been preparing for years, and they are playing to win. Zambia, Egypt and Rwanda seemed not to want to qualify from the onset of the competition. So congratulations to the victors thus far and let us continue to enjoy that beautiful game. By the way Naz those are humbling words you trully are an African brother.

  5. Mathematics yet again, so what are zambia chances of qualifying to ANGOLA 2010? zambia just needs a draw,,,hmm but what if they lost? depends on how much, if zambia loses by 1 goal, they would go to ANGOLA, however if zambia loses by more than 1 goal, then by virtue of HEAD TO HEAD, Zambia would not qualify, therefore let it be known that ZAMBIA simply has to win this one, for confidence and to redeem themselves,,cant remember the last time i celebrated a zambian win ,,, my prediction ahead of the nov 14 clash, ZAM 2 – 0 RWA

  6. Plse i hope you are not bleming the coach i pray that you memtain him he is try to build a team it is yet to be built. he is a very good coach try to find good players.

  7. Our players especially strikers lack experience and enginuity. They are lso selfish instead of creating chances for others each one of them wants to score even when they are are not in a good position. Poor finishing is the order of the day for Zambia. Anyway I see them going to Angola because it will be almost impossible for Rwanda to beat Zambia by 4 goals to 0

  8. Our National Footbal Team is depending on mathematical calculation like City of Lusaka. We need an outright win in Kigali otherwise the Wasps will make our situation difficult. I am begining to doubt the caliber of coach Renan. The boys cant find the back of the net, we have got a problem with our srikers they waste chances unlike the quality Pharols one chance and they utilised it.

  9. But why is FAZ completely ignoring Harry Milanzi? That Bulldozing striker is better than these Mbesumas and the like. Kalusha, swallow your pride and call this son of Zambia, I know you hold a grudge aginst him but Chipolopolo is greater than you. CALL MILANZI NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. FAZ must not fire the coach in preference fo the corrupt local coaches ,he did what he could do but the players themselves were to blame fo not conventing numerous chances into goals . mbesuma played very well but he was badly marked by three players which meant his collegueas should have capitalised you saw immedietly he was substituted they scored because they were not worried of any other player , our mid and defence were all okey ,we only needed somebody to help mbesuma, please Renard has started building the team he needs time the local coaches only want to benefit themselves by playing those who cheka fit or not fit provided they have swallowed, please you mufurila faz spare the coach.

  11. Rwanda will be an interesting duel. If i was to be a patriot and do what most patriots do, i will and can predict Algeria, Egypt, and Zambia will sail through to the Africa Cup of Nations. Unless of course Zambia losses to Rwanda by a margin of 4 goals to Zero! Even then, we will still be tied  and (in that case) we will watch Rwanda go through!

  12. Football is a very interesting game! Rwanda is capable of upsetting our chances of going to the AFCON in Angola next year. We don’t seem to have materials in our national team, coz even if we brought Jose Mourinho o coach them, we’ll not see any better results.
I would suggest the national team be disbanded and stay away from competitive games for the next three years so that we focus on building a better & strong team that can perform.

  13. zambia is a good team.it is not well prepared psychologically.once we are a goal down thats the end.we also tend to be afraid of great players.so whats the way forward for zambian football?
    1. lets maintain the current team and the coach
    2. Faz must forcus on improving the local league ( by putting some qualifications for one to be accepted as a coach for our league, not bcoz he was a player.
    3. in the near future we must employ our local coach because i have observed with sadness that there is communication breakdown between our current coach and the players
4.faz must send some zambian coaches ( not relatives), for further studies either in germany, denmark, england or wherever,
in that way i think our football status will improve.

  14. # 23. i disagree with you.convince, what are you going to be doing in that course of three years?it will be worse that now.if you disband the team, we may be less than eritrea

  15. Let’s concentrate on COSAFA, CECAFA or better still get out of international futbo for four years, then come try again.

  16. Awe, this coach and the entire FAZ are a big let down.the coach has clearly failed to devise a scoring mechanism and we’ve now run out of patience.Renard is just good in physical training ,he must GO ,and save our hard earned tax payers/KCM money.Bravo to the serious Algerians!

  17. The coach must go. Firstly he could not psyche his players properly. Reason: throught this crusade for AFCON/World Cup, the coach’s focus has been AFCON. How can he focus on a lower competition instead of the bigger one. In strategic mgt you aim higher and just in case things don’t work at that level, that’s when you OPT for whatever comes. This chap has just been talking about going to AFCON. He had no personal conviction/motivation to take the team to the FIFA world cup. So why even participate in the competition which you have no hope of winning. Hence, his players’ focus was even reduced to lower competitions like the one coming this weekend. If they qualify to AFCON to them that would be ”very hard”. Bullshit!
The COACH MUST GO IMMEDIATELY. HE LACKS MOTIVATION. 3 loses…

  18. These jokers we call players don’t know anything. Our days of glory in soccer are gone. We should try something else. even our administrators don’t know anything. Lets try Ichienga. Ubulimi bwakale tabu talalika mwana. Bangwele.

  19. Where have we gone wrong kanshi pa zed? may be we need to declare 27th April to be a public holiday…I think we havent done much to appreciate our foreign heroes…look at the plight of their families…..Our Ancestors spirits are annoyed hence we need to apologise and re-mourn our foreign heroes…otherwise however good we will play the game….we shall always fall.

  20. Any way after all has been said. Zambia is back to earth where they belong. Zambia will definately go to Angola. Rwanda will not beat Zambia by 4 goals to zero. Impossible napali amama kaleza!!!!

  21. Yes,let Zambia qualify to the AFCON in Angola and continue embrassing us with poor football.
It appears many Zambian fans are content with the national team only making short appearances at these tournaments. They don’t even mind if the team does not win the tournament.
Football is not a hit a miss affair. It requires long term planning(even as long as 6 years). But Zambians are short sighted and what quick success.Because of this Zambia will be perpetual underachievers.
You can go ahead and fire Renard bring in another coach-Patrick Phiri,Hose Morinho e.t.c.The end results will not change as the players all come up from the same league where football standards are at their lowest. In addition you have poor administrators in FAZ and lack of proper funding.
    So the saga won’t end.
