Police in Kalomo have picked up and buried a body of a man who was discovered dead in Chief Chikanta’s Hapuya area.
The body of the deceased which was discovered in a decomposed state was immediately buried while Police investigate the matter.
The unidentified body was spotted by a boy in the bush last Thursday, and efforts by the local community to help identify the body failed.
Both Kalomo Police and Headman Hapuya confirmed the incident to ZANIS in Kalomo over the weekend.
Police has, however, ruled out foul play in the death of the man.
Very sad news. I hope his family will trace him. Otherwise, condolences to the bereaved family and may his soul rest in peace.
This Sad but you wonder why police should rule out any possible cause for the death of the man before their investigations are concluded, and even before they can identify the body?
Ba LT, you had the same head lines through out the weekend…stale news…do you mean no news happened coz your latest head lines are also not much? Do your reporters break off over the weekend? News does not!
Why such urgency by the Police to bury the remains of that man? Did the Police have have something to do with the death of that man? Why so quick to rule out foul play? Who was that man anyway? Was any Identity established? Kalomo Police need to answer some of these questions…..We are not in the stone age.
That’s the Zambian Police for you!!! A copse in decomposed state is found, identity not know, cause of death not known and yet immediately rule out foul play! They even hurry to bury the body.
Would anyone be wrong to suspect the police of knowing (and hiding) something? An investigation should be launched.
The entire Zambia Police only has 3 Pathologists to cover the country! No mortuary space and the state the body was found in made more sense to dispose it off than keep it. Zambian Police are among the least equipped in world with no logistics to investigate deaths among paupers.
Ati development! Bane natuleikalafye. Immidiately burried?
We need new leadership period!.
#5 How do you expect them to work without the necessary resources?
#9 Where are those resources going to come from when they are busy buying cars?
#9, hats off for you. You are right on the spot. You are one of the few who understands the Police well. Thanks once again.
I must admit, i really enjoy your sensible blogging. Keep it up.
Sorry, i mean # 6.
That case should be ruled a homicide unless proven otherwise. That man could have been a victim of petty robbery or senseless killing..Poor guy, he was somebody’s brother, or son, Daddy, husband who knows…
Coronation of English Sovereigns – Edward II, The Martyr’ … Pavilion Aldershot’, ‘Coronation Guest – King Lewanika of Barotseland’ Chitimukulu was busy defacating in the bush!.
I would like to apologise to my fellow Zambian’s the bemba’s.
i really think police are not doing much, too much theft, too much killings.its sad ,in a christian nation it shoud not be
The police service is failing us. Are they going to exhume latter for a postmortum. Some family somewhere is missing a relative and they will definately not find him. Maybe through DNA if they can afford it.
How do the police just have to wait on government funding when they can raise funds and support thier own little stuff. They must learn to make money and not just use.
