Three weeks ago, I wrote an article in which I said Edgar Lungu despite the swelling support after the death of President Michael Sata may not be the right person to be PF President let alone Republican President.
I said that the people behind the candidature of Edgar Lungu were criminals whose main interest is their private welfare. I cited individuals like Willie Nsanda who sell road contracts from Roads Development Agency (RDA) to Chinese nationals.
Today I’m vindicated. The events of the PF General Conference that declared Edgar Lungu as the new PF President, and then shortly later invalidated his candidature, proves me right.
Criminals are behind Edgar Lungu.
Why do I say so? Edgar Lungu’s supporters knew that the majority of his supporters were not accredited delegates because most of these people were just thugs picked from bus stations like Kulima Tower and Intercity. According to PF constitution, the delegates at the conference are elected officials, these being constituency district, provincial, MPs and Central Committee members.
Edgar was not sure if he had enough support among the legitimate delegates. With money from corrupt contracts at RDA, Willie Nsanda and the Nkandu Luos of this world bused several non-delegates to Kabwe. Whilst at the venue, other candidates supporters were stopped from entering, registering as delegates and even stopped from wearing campaign regalia that was not branded Edgar Lungu. Home affairs Deputy minister Stephen Kampyongo even transported fellow thugs from City Market to stop delegates suspected to be close to Miles Sampa or the former First Lady.
Kampyongo used to be a thug at City Market before he became Deputy Minister. That aside, it was the un-enabling environment that forced Acting President Guy Scott to ask that accreditation of delegates be done outside the venue of voting. The team Edgar Lungu refused.
Later the two factions agreed that accreditation can be done at the venue provided all non delegates left the venue. Inonge Wina the Party Chairperson tried to convince the non delegates to leave the venue but Nsanda and his team told the thugs not to leave.
Wina then declared the Presidency vacant while other candidates were discussing modalities with the Acting President. Returning officer Tutwa Ngulube called names of candidates but only Lungu was in the arena.
A question was then asked for those supporting Lungu to show up. Thousands raised their hands in support of Lungu and the returning officer then declared Lungu unopposed. The question is the following: How did the returning officer know that those who raised their hands where genuine delegates, especially with the knowledge that there was a combination of delegates and non delegates?
This is what Scott was trying to avoid.
Scott may not be the most ethical politician in Zambia, but he has tried to be democratic amid this recent chaos. Let people vote freely.
If Lungu goes ahead, it likely the PF would lose elections. Why do I say so? Miles Sampa, Chishimba Kambwili,Wilbur Simuusa and Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba have close to 500,000 registered voters in their constituencies. Apart from Simuusa, the rest are very popular in their constituencies. How much votes will have been taken away from Lungu? Please note that PF won with just above 120,000 votes in 2011.
Could this be the end of PF? Only time will tell, but I foresee some court documents being served on one or two individuals. It is about time Lungu started behaving like a lawyer instead of a drunkard associated with criminals and thugs.

HH why waste time in Southern Province where you already have automatic votes…… you don’t have time tata, go to Luapula, Central, Muchinga and Northern provinces now before the dust settles in PF. @Nine Chanda, why not? Is it because those two provinces (Luapula and Northern) vote on tribal lines. This pattern of voting is killing Zambia because we end up with people who are not presidential material ruling the country simply because they belong to certain tribes. If that is the case you cannot blame the Lozis for wanting their province to break away from Zambia.

PF President, Guy Scott, has with immediate effect expelled from the party Inonge Wina, Jean Kapata, Willie Nsanda, Benson Chali, Sturdy Mwale, Steven Kampyongo, Nkandu Luo and Joseph Katema for gross indiscipline.
He stated that the above mentioned did organise yet another illegal meeting yesterday at the ongoing General Conference.
The PF constitution only allows the party President to convene and chair meetings but the above were in the forefront in conducting a meeting yesterday without the party’s President been in attendence .
It is alleged that the expelled members are purported to have fired party President Guy Scott.

Lied about Barosteland; the constitution has remained a paper from the animal farm; more money in thugs pockets as wages remain frozen; fuel and staple food price increased three times of what bwezani left; only chines enjoyed state house buffets; first political violent environment in our country; and Zambians still don’t see what the Post Newspaper consequently acknowledged that Godfrey Miyanda has remained the true politcial leader in highlighting lies and liars. Voting for Godfrey Miyanda on 20 Jan 2015 will be the only principle to rectify the mistakes and restore good governance. The rest are already promising lies.

Do you know much money can be saved if 50 cabinet posts are removed and the foreign service stream lined per year?
Each cabinet minister gets about K100,000. including all allowances per month. 50 x 100 000 = k5,000,000. This is just the start. Think of how much can be saved if the foreign service and most government departments are streamlined by removing excess family forest employees who are on the pay list but doing nothing. Think of ghost workers like Kaseba, still getting paid as a doctor despite not practising medicine anymore. Cut corruption in Zambia tender board to ensure that there is no inflation of prices for the sake of kick backs. Tackle tax avoidance and evasion.
Just through the above measures government can save over k3 million per year.

Mr Fact, you are a criminal yourself. When did Nsanda and Kampyongo get convicted to be labelled criminals. In short, you are implying Sata was working with criminals. He put a criminal in Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Justice.
You even hide your name because you know you may be drugged to court to prove your unfounded allegations. What you forget is that in democracy it is numbers and not opinions that matter.

Yes this could be the end of PF, but not for the reasons given by the writer. I don’t agree with your sentiments Mr Writer! If you see sin in EL, you should equally see sin in all the other PF candidates. They have all sinned in one or another especially if they represent the cartel. Why do you see problems with Willie Nsanda’s “corruption” and fail to see the cartel’s grand corruption? It is a case of the kettle calling the pot black for all these PF candidates.

The pf we used to know under Michael is dead,therefore Scott has to do the right thing which is supporting hh and secure the future of our children,and he will retire from active politics a very happy man. Let Scott follow a good example of chiluba who brought in mwanawasa when he saw that there was no one worthy to take over from him within the then mms cabinet. Sometimes as a leader to leave a good legacy you have to go out of your way to leave the country in good hands.

HH should wise not to form his cabinet from the the MMD MPs who have formed a coalition of campaign managers for him. Not all these MPs come to the table with “clean hands”. He can retain some of the MPs on a “think tank” to advise government, but not to hold active positions. He has a grande opportunity to change the face Zambian politics by ushering a new look young competent corps to move the country into the next phase of development. The dead wood would only be a detriment to the new dream.

I am very surprised that some Zambians are calling Lungu a criminal. It is very unfair to call him a criminal based on hearsay. Some people are saying that Lungu has failed to control the cadres, I think that is not correct and true. The all PF leadership including the Acting President Scott, and former members of PF Kabimba and Chikwelete have failed to control cadres since PF came to power. When the people told PF leadership to control its cadres, the leadership turn a blind eye and the cadres did any thing they wanted. Now PF is harvesting what it planted. I think it is a fault of the Acting President to put the strong and effective right security in place at Mulungwishi Rock. Scott knows better how PF cadres behave, hence a good security should have been in place.
I am not against Mr Lungu but I also think most of his supporters are so biased.I cannot say Dr Scott is 100% correct.The question you should ask your selves is whether it is in order for Mr Lungu to be part of what happened yesterday.He was alone as the reports say,with thugs but he went ahead and was declared winner.What you are ignoring here is that this is not America-TIA!This is Africa.Guy Scott has a lot of power at the moment and any weakneses in the Lungu camp will cost them dearly.Alarming the nation that there will be blood shed wont help.No one is interested apart from a few thugs and no one can die for Lungu-why?In my opinion he is a very disorganised politician crying for our sympathy which unfortunately some of us do not have.Do you think Scott is as naïve as Lungu?

This is not the end of PF,but rather the begining of better things to come. This used a party for one individual (Micheal Sata), but now after the Convention, this will be a party for all members and from there onwards, PF will re-shape and grow into a party for everyone.
