Nkana’s lead at the top of the FAZ Super Division has been cut to two points after a 1-1 away draw a with Green Buffaloes at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka today.
The 11-time champions thought they were on their way to their first win at Buffaloes since they bounced back to the top flight in 2010 after taking the lead in the 50th minute through Kelvin Musonda who headed-in a Donashano Malama corner.
However, Nkana’s lead lasted just 10 minutes before Buffaloes levelled through Allen Mukuka to ensure they shared the points.
Nkana stay top on 10 points but that could be reduced nil when fourth placed Konkola Blades on seven points face Power Dynamos on Sunday in Kitwe.
Blades have seven points heading to Arthur Davies against Power who are 11th on four points.
Meanwhile, Red Arrows are second after a 1-nil home win over Nkwazi at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka to move to within two points of Nkana on eight points.
Nchanga Rangers are third on seven points after a 2-1 away win over Forest Rangers at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
A brace from Bonwell Mwape in the 22nd and 33rd minutes handed 10-man Nchanga the win.
Nchanga were reduced to 10 men in the 86th minute after defender and captain George Chilufya was sent off for a second yellow card.
Chilufya was sent off just two minutes after conceding a penalty that Green Mumba converted to hand Forest their consolation goal.
Elsewhere, Zesco United outplayed Napsa Stars 2-0 at Levy thanks to goals from Winston Kalengo and Lottie Phiri in the 23rd and 71st minutes respectively.
