Lusaka Dynamos this afternoon won their first ever cup honor in their three-decade history after beating Zesco United 1-0 to lift the 2008 BP Top 8 title.
The game played at Nchanga Stadium in Chingola was heading for stalemate after remaining scoreless until the 89 minutes.
However, a brilliant shot a minute from time from striker Josphat Nkhoma that hit the horizontal before hitting the back of the goal line ensured the match didn’t go to penalties.
Dynamos win was also significant for coach Fighton Simukonda’s quest to win the BP Top 8 trophy as trainer who put to rest some ghosts of losing 6-1 to Nkana as coach of Konkola Blades in the final of the same competition in 2000 at the same venue.

Faz Premier League
Week 26
09/11/2008
Green Eagles 0-Green Buffaloes 3
Green Buffaloes remained second from top on the Faz Premier League table after a resounding 3-0 away win at Railway Ground in Kabwe over Green Eagles who slumped from 15th to 16th on the table.
Goals from Sebastian Mwansa, Sekelani Mwale and Lawrence Phiri handed Buffaloes the three points that saw them move from 38 to 41 points-three less than leaders Zesco united after 24 games played.
Red Arrows-Nkwazi
Nkwazi moved from bottom of the table in 16th place to 13th position after an important 1-0 away win over Red Arrows today at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.
Midfielder Isaac Mutantabowa’s header in the 57th minute from an Edward Kangwa cross gave Nkwazi the win in this poor display of football from both sides.
Coaches Oswald Mutapa for Nkwazi and Harrison Tembo for Arrows were once elegant midfielders in their day.
However, from the bench where they barked orders to their underperforming players, there was no sign of that old magic rubbing off onto their charges.
