Govt. commended for halting Katumbi cases

Share

MMD Youths on the Copperbelt have commended government halting corruption cases against Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) Katanga province Governor Moses Katumbi as a good move that would build strong Diplomatic ties between the two countries.

Provincial Youth Chairman Nicholas Nzunda told ZANIS in kitwe today that the youths were grateful with the stance taken by government to clear Mr Katumbi as it will help build good relationship between Congo DR and the Zambian government for the benefit of its citizens.

He said the decision taken to clear Mr Katumbi of graft charges will help resolve alot of problems that affected businessmen who used the pedicle road to do business.

He challenged Dr Rodger Chongwe to stop accusing government for making peace with Mr. Katumbi.

Mr Nzunda said Mr Chongwe should stop bickering but should instead put national interest first before personalizing matters that involve neighbouring countries.

Mr Nzunda said Mr Katumbi was a very senior person and influential leader in Congo and that Mr. Chongwe should therefore desist from making political mileage over the issue that affected many people.

He appealed to Mr Chongwe to concentrate on his law firm and direct his energy and assist the suspects in remand prisons who have not been tried for a long time.

  1. See how fools operate..it only takes a few tins of chibuku and chaamba to get them all steamed up? no wonder america came up the “electral college voting system” as fools like these would surely influence the outcome of the votes? what happened to simple logic?

  2. #1 EASTERNER, I think we should build chibuku a munument and propose for CHIBUKU DAY to be enshrined in the national constitution. Its really laughable, how a normal person would just wake up and start defending what he barely understands. Chibuku ne chamba ne misango wafiko.

  3. this govt. has set a terrible precedent. Now that we are able to forgive foreign nationals who plundered our economy we should be ashamed to even contemplate prosecuting our own citizens for the same offences.LPM and his govt. are increasingly making it difficult to support them. This strange decision by GRZ proves that in politics the rule is……..there are no rules !! Its amazing…the prerogative of mercy has been exercised BEFORE the cases are concluded!!!

  4. What does a group of empty headed MMD youths offer to our beloved nation? All they are interested is Shake-Shake. Do they even understand issues these rogues?

  5. Moses Katumbi is indeed untouchable. He has the money to buy all the selfish MMD kids. Now he is let free at the expense of plundered Zambian money that he used to draw alot of support in Katanga. Katumbi will even ask MMD to leave Chiluba alone very soon. Watch and see.!!

  6. Then I suerly do not understand why VJ was fired? not that I like him, trust me I have no respect for fortune seekers (zambian politicians) whatsoever? My guess is that he was the sacrificial lamb? one plus one equals two! like i have always stated “God has his own way of dealing with plunderers.” Mwandi isikuulu isuuma as we simply do not go to class to learn geography?

  7. Hey!! wisdom has got nothing to do with education, I am a grade 3 graduate from Bulangililo Primary in Kitwe. it takes a wise person to think twice before making any decision or suggesting anything. some of the so called educated fox just open up their mouths and talk without thinking. who knows maybe you were just escorting your friends to school and bought linkage exam papers at grade 12, you think you are so educated.

  8. Levy should be seriously be shamed of himself, if he can forgive Katumbi then he should concider doing same to Dr.Chiluba.
