FORMER President, Fredrick Chiluba has started undergoing medical tests at Garden City Clinic in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Dr Chiluba’s spokesperson, Emmanuel Mwamba said in a telephone interview from South Africa yesterday that Dr Chiluba, who is an out-patient, was responding well to medical reviews.
Mr Mwamba said the medical review was expected to end next week.
“I can confirm that the medical review programme has started. He is currently undergoing a series of tests and the programme is expected to end by next week,” he said.
Dr Chiluba left for South Africa last Sunday for his route medical check up.
His wife, Regina, personal doctor and some security officers accompanied him.

He can respond well to medication since he’s no longer in danger of going to prison.
Who pays for Chiluba’s Medical bills???? Tax payer’s or… its a shear waste of money. Even UTH can do a better job
KUU PUPULUKA…, DOUBLE TOBELA.
let this guys die if has to. Maybe he has Aids. Am not wishing death, But if Levy died a healthy man wat about him
# 2 aka Baby C. I agree with you. Our doctors are qualified to conduct these medical reviews. And yes who pays for Chiluba’s medical bills? MMD treasury.
Just what is he suffering from? reviews everyday.
#2, 5 Chiluba is a former head of state. He is entitled to it. Why do you think so many people fight for the instruments of power?!
#7 I guess you know what Chilyba is suffering from, may you please tell us. Am aware that he is entitled to a lifetime medical insurance. But does he go to that same hospital so often? He must have sometime serious like HIV
The cholera epidemic that has ravaged neighbouring Zimbabwe has spread to Zambia with over one thousand cases reported Countrywide.
Out of the figure, nine people have since died.
The sad development has been revealed by Health Ministry Deputy Minister, Mwendoi Akakandelwa, at a news conference in Lusaka today.
He says one Zimbabwean National died near Chirundu Border while the other one is receiving treatment at Katwezele Cholera Center.
He added that a Zambian mother and her child are battling with the disease in Zimbabwe and that government has dispatched a team of medical personnel to bring them back to Zambia.
Zimbabwe has declared a national emergency over the cholera outbreak
Sorry fellow bloggers but I had to bring # 9 to your attention. The site with the cholera story has become history on LT site.
Thats your money gone Zambians! For a medical to Kafupi even when we know AIDS has no cure.
#8 if you are aware of his entitlement why are you worried? How do know that he has HIV naiwe wine uli mulwele
#11 naiwe wine ulimulwele
Jelabo why are defending this guy? Is he your relative?
KK is older than Chiluba but he doesn’t get sick this often. Think about it Zambians, let the govt tell us what he is suffering from
#7
Hmmmm! former head of state ka! But our founding Father KK simply goes to U.T.H whenever he falls sick. Is kafupi a special case in this case?????
imwe mulekeni Chiluba, ama jerassi pa Zed! When will people learn to mind their own bizz?
# 7. Entitled?? As former head of state. I don’t think so. We have hospitls to treat them. The same hospitals treating my and your relatives in Zambia. These hospitals were under his authority. Plse think through things before you comment.
We shouldn’t encourage this behaviour if we are to see any improvements in the medical institutions.
A law should actually be passed soonest that those serving in or have served in government should use the local facilities. Repatriation will be at the individuals expense.
Who cares
This is one of the plunderers the world has known who is given first class treatment time and time again. FTJ should be ashamed that him is all out to prolong his life at whatever cost when he consigned a lot of zambians souls to the grave due to his poor economic management policies and plundering of the national wealth. Stealing of money for ARVs by Bulaya happened on his watch, but here we are pampering him with reviews like hell. Its time we locked up the guy and if he perished so be it. Kabolala, ni kabolala period. Let us take him to prison and save on these reviews. I would rather they use bucks to buy lunch for cops providing security, lining up the streets when RB is passing.
Hmmm! responding well to review, nikalibe kunvelako.some titles are not the best summery of the story.hahahaha, nazo nkani mwachidule!
17. Let us be progressive in our blogging. Chiluba is using tax payers money hence, his evacuation is 100% our business. Tema Jerassi iyo nicho aka kamuntu kaliba indalama sha chalo. So he does not deserve to have more money spent on him. He is a cost in as much as looking after him on a day to day is concerned and reviews are another wasteful exercise on him. So FTJ’s heart condition (i hope we have been told the truth) is our business from A to Z.
# 22 bauze banvesese. Tell them I like people who think about change. Changing our mind sets.
Why should this nonsense be news for us. The ka thief is just wasting our money. Why can’t he just eat sand and die!! He is not worth a life as he killed a lot of innocent people.
And who pays for travel expenses and accomodation for his wife, security men and personal doctor???
Answer = Tax Payers. HMMMM! Drama pa zed
guys why are ur wasting your time commenting on the health of an AIDS patient.
Watever. blah blah bla………………………………………………..
That’s good news for the only one who was not scared of KK.
How does one respond well to a review? Is it lucky of a better term mwa?
Someone feed him some truth syrum and let him sing.
Dont forget to record it all for evidence.
He is a sleezy pimp with a 6ft Ho’.
Mr Nice Guy discuss issues like a mature person. Chiluba’s sickness has nothing to do with you. Encourage your government to build infrastructure in hospitals that is of acceptable standards so that these so called leaders don’t keep on misusing our meagre resources by going outside for medical treatment. Whatever Chiluba did, his health is his own business. He is not at liberty to disclose to anybody.
Even his personal Doctor is in the entourage to escort Kafupi to RSA for medical check up . It is like a husband escorting the wife to be serviced by another man – shame on you useless Zambian Doctors !
#31 you got it right, its not FTJs fault he is just enjoying the loopholes in the govt system.as former head of state he is entitled to that luxury but we need to get the govt to prove the infrastructure in the country,of course its a share waste of resoucers as about 8 pipo travel every time he travels dont forget lodging, meals and allowances
Zimbabweans got cholera from Zambia where it is endemic. they have been coming to zambia in big numbers.
What will happen when Mpundu Kafupi dies? Is the real Fredrick Chiluba , (the owner of the Form 2 certificate ) going to be declared dead as well? please help me understand as Iam really puzzled
I was also pounding my head to understand the expression responding well to reviews. How? by going for them? Anyways, I hope he can share what he is hidding in swiss banks.
Zambian Politics will be bette with death of Chiluba, Sata and all the old folks who brought tribalism and segratation.
…..and far much better with the death of yourself, your wife/girl friend and your parents. “tool”!:(|)
midget :d
it will be good for zambian politics when the old politians die off! coz they are responsible for the political stagnation of the country. maybe a gabon type crash will be welcome to wipe them off so that we start all over again!! 8-x
Let him get better, he’s got prison to go to.
IT IS DEPLORABLE THAT A FORMER PRESIDENT CONTINUES TO IGNORE LOCALLY AVAILABLE MEDICAL EXPERTISE.DOCTORS AT UTH ARE MORE THAN CAPABLE OF REVIEWING HIS CONDITION AND IN THE PROCESS SAVE THE NATION A LOT OF MONEY.TO SUGGEST THAT FACILITIES IN THE COUNTRY ARE UNSUITABLE FOR HIM IS TO SEND THE LOUD MESSAGE THAT THEY ARE UNSUITABLE FOR THE REST OF THE POPULATION.AS HE SEEMS TO BE RESPONDING WELL TO THE REVIEWS[WHATEVER THAT MEANS] WE HOPE HE CAN FINALLY BE DISCHARGED SO THAT THE MONEY CAN BE BETTER UTILISED.
Chiluba :((
Chiluba has a heart condition, dont you people read the papers, the man has been sick since last year. for sure now that it is only reviews that he is going to, I think UTH can manage or the other Lusaka based private clinics, it would be less costly for the government. Pray for him, that he recovers and then tax payers money will not be used so much.
let the midget die! i wonder how he out lived levy
why should we talk to someone who is hiv let him die
Chiluba must be in remand. They have better doctors.
