FAZ-Breweries deal not Renard salary – Munaile

Share

Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) vice president Emmanuel Munaile says partnership agreement between the association and Zambia Breweries PLC is not for Zambia national soccer team coach Herve Renard’s salary.

ZANIS sports reports Munaile telling the media at Football House, today, that the deal to be signed this Friday is for the national team players and does not for Renard.

Payment of Renard’s salary has remained unclear since the mining giant Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) decided to stop paying the French man his salaries due to the global economic clampdown.

Meanwhile, Munaile has commended the national team for its performance against the Pharaohs of Egypt in Cairo 2010 Africa/FIFA World cups qualifier.

Munaile said the national team had a fantastic and dream start adding that Sunday’s result firmly puts destiny in the Chipolopolo’s hands.

He said the result will spur FAZ and the national team to work even harder to see to it that the dream of Zambia qualifying to the World Cup becomes a reality.

He said hard work, professionalism, dedication to duty and greater unity among all stakeholders will ensure that greater things are attained for football in the country.

And the under-17 national team will participate in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) International Youth Championship from April 7 to 14, 2009.

Munaile said the under – 17 national team has been training for the tournament to be played in league format, early this week .

Munaile said the administrative and logistical preparations are underway to facilitate the team’s travel to the tournament that will see hosts UAE, Zambia, Korea and Nigeria battle it out.

And Munaile has expressed confidence that ZESCO United will get a positive result against Africa Sports of Ivory Coast in the second leg this Saturday.

He urged soccer fans to troop to the Trade Fair Grounds in large numbers to support ZESCO United who held the Ivorians to a stalemate in the first leg in Abidjan.

He also expressed optimism that Red Arrows who lead the Ocean Boys by 2 goals to nil on aggregate having beaten them in the first leg in Lusaka can also get a positive result away in Nigeria and progress to the next round.

He asked clubs and fans alike to take note that Super League matches on the Copperbelt will be played on Sunday as ZESCO United play Africa Sports on Saturday.

  4. So what are you trying to tell us? who is going to be paying Renard! continue misbehaving while the other country is eyeing for him with a good offer. you never appreciate something until you lose it!!!!!!

  5. Its interesting how no one seems to care about Renard. Such careless talk in the media will just demotivate the coach. At this stage, lets be careful about how we handle sensitive issues.

  6. Ba Honey mulishani? Am ok. Mikomfwa, Matworld, Baby C, Nkeche, Mrs Stevens, Rashid, Ghost, Maestro, Chewe, Chale, Jam@co, Zoe and the rest of the good guys, Mulishani bonse? Amake Temwani, how are you?

  8. Honestly we didn’t deserve anything more than this shocking draw against Zambia in front of a packed Cairo stadium; we didn’t present what could earn us the three points but on the other hand the Zambian team deserves all respect as they took the game seriously and played by their abilities with very high spirit.

However, we shouldn’t collapse because basically we are back to square one as all teams now have one point so we can forget about this game and think of the remaining games as cup finals that we have no other option but to win.

Before the match began, I sensed arrogance among the players as they entered the dressing room especially Zaki, Zidan and Shawky and I was very…

  9. Why ZB is sponsoring the National Team is because they have seen potential in Renard bringing in results. Those Butock Wamers at FAZ should not forget it. There are visible results and companies would want to come forward and sponsor look at Bafana’s win after 96 every wants to sponsor them because they have done before and they believe potential is there. SASCOL the oil company spent over R 4.3 Million+ on the under 20 for a four year development programme. Castle Lager undisclosed amount, MTN, and the others. So when there are results there will be sponsors. Please dont deceive yourself honourable Munaile. Every can see why money is coming in. Who would nt want to b part of the 2010…

  10. What is wrong with you Mr. So called Munaile who is not even caring about our well done couch.
We will make you don’t get paid for the rest of your life.. if you don’t make sure that our couch is paid his full salary.

Can’t you people see the change he had brought to our National Soccer Team. He doing a very good job and the players loves him.

If he is chased by you not paying him am telling you he will go with some of the players, we have lost so many good players because of changing couches all most every year.

This time i don’t want bad manners Mr. So called Munaile. Do something before we do something for you.. The team has really change the way they displayed the ball…
