Lusaka International Airport: The building and work ethics

Share

The sun setting over the Lusaka International airport

by Gerald Nkisu Katayi

Lusaka International Airport is the gateway to many destinations around the world from Zambia. Even though it is an “International Airport” there is nothing international about it. The main building called Lusaka International Airport which is supposed to be a symbolic building is nothing but a historical monument. Upon arrival as Zambians coming home, our embarrassment is that, one is met by the desolate, lifeless, ancient-looking main airport building.

Why is the government not doing something about revamping this old building? Let them give it a befitting overhaul as this building has served us well over the years. Whilst it may be structurally sound and fit for basic purposes; it has indeed been neglected somewhat and is crying out for a full face-lift. Is the government comfortable with the perceived level of ‘third world infrastructure?’ Our counterparts have been elevated to ‘developing world’ status with stunning airport buildings to present to the world, but Zambia is still “the real Africa.”

The ugliness of the airport is not limited to the dilapidated building; work ethics and services rendered at this airport are of great concern. Cohesion, intimidation, and begging by workers are so rampant. Each time I go on vacation, something sinister shows up at the airport. I had 23x3kg luggage allowance round trip; when leaving Lusaka, I only had 1×30 kg. I was told my bag was “overweight,” that I should pay and buy another bag for the extra 7kg. I showed the benefits of my ticket, the officer just glanced at it. I had to trash the 7 kg.

On another trip an airline had changed my transit dates. Initially I was supposed to transit in London for two days before connecting to Zambia. On my way back the lady at the airport demanded a $100 for the “change of dates.” I tried to explain, but she was adamant. I had to contact the airline who came to my rescue.

This other time, I had bought dry fish. I was told to “throw” it away because it was not “allowed” at my destination. I asked this officer to take the fish from my bag and throw it away as I was not going to do so. I went through with my fish.

Whilst at the airport, I gave some money to a friend for my project before he left. After my bags were checked in; an officer asked me for money. I don’t have, was my response. “I just saw you giving money to the man who was with you,” he insisted. Well, what has that got to do with you? And how can I just be giving money to strangers? I walked away.

My bags went missing each time I come through South Africa. I was advised to check with the airport the following day. By them holding my bag(s) and I picking the bags the following day; I become a sacrificial lamb; money exchanged hands as though my bags were being delivered to my residence. Last December my bag went “missing,” I was given a form to fill in and check with them the following day. I looked at this lady in the face and told her to give me my bag or else I will make a lot of noise because I knew what was going on…A few minutes later my bag was “found.”

Words like, “you are leaving us hungry,” “you are the people enjoying out there,” “leave me something for lunch” etc. are repeated by workers as one leaves the airport. There’s too much greed at this airport; this attitude will tarnished the image of Zambia if it continues.

  1. You are busy condemning the airport but your vocabulary and grammar are pathetic too. You are supposed to be a symbol for Zambian writers. I do not want to go through all your silly mistakes but concentrate on something you have raised. Since two years ago most of the airlines just allow a bag weighing 23 kgs. You might have been allowed by your airline up to three bags but each of them should not weigh more than 23 kgs. If one bag weighs more than the recommended weight, you will be made to unpack it.

  2. # Kashimani . English is not our first languange. Im sure you got the writers points. Dont be in denial!

  3. Tala fela. Katayi, you raise important issues. Corruption petmeates every sector of the Zambian society. Even doctors/consultants in public hospitals want to be paid by patients. We used to laugh at Nigeria when immigration officers would tell you a page is missing in your passport. The ACC is as useful as an amputated limb.

  4. this shows you the level of corruption and povert this country has reached.
coming to the structures…it is true that our structures have out lived. south africa passed thru this. Today when you go to oilver tambo airport you will be amazed it is like you have landed at heathrow airport…..that is what we call development….
on the missing laggage…yes it is true.. I have experienced this with SAirways…….this happens mostly on this airline. just make sure your lagage is wrapped with less valuable items in it otherwise you will be shocked. it is a world wide problem .
We hope that works could negin soon again we need to engage good designers, planners so that we get a better face lift from the start……
THE BEST WORD TO DESCRIBE THE AIRPORT IS “INTERNATIONAL VILLAGE AIR…

  5. Are our leaders not ashamed about Lusaka International Airport? Yes even Ndola International airport ?
When they go out and come back dont they feel ashamed?Look at Jomo Kenyatta International airport or Addis Ababa airport they are 10 times better than Lusaka.why dont they do something about it.
It is embarassing when you with visitors landing at lusaka international airport -DO SOMETHING

  6. There are two completely different issues here. 1. The terminal building. The Lusaka Int Airport terminal building is just very fine. Expansion is commensurate with the passenger population. There are very few flights and passengers through Lusaka. However, cleanliness and amenities need to improve.
    2. Corruption. But Lagos is worse. Corrupt officers soliciting for money should be reported. We should record conversations on our mobile phones.

  7. I concur with the lack of professionalism by airport workers especially the begging. You can literally walk up with a one tonne bag of mealie meal and bribe someone to get it on the plane, one wonders do we have to wait for an ccident before things change. The flouting of airline rules is disturbing all the workers care about is money no regard for consequences . I was so embarassed to be zambian after reading some hotel reviews on tripadvisor to see tourists begging asking for pounds to damn customers SMH whats with the begging?

  8. The Lusaka village airport speaks volume about ZAMBIA.
IT TELLS YOU ABOUT HOW FILLFUL THE COMPUNDS AND THE CITY ARE IN THIS COUNTRY
IT TELLS YOU HOW CORRUPT THIS MIGHTY AFRICA BEST COPPER EXPORTER IS
IT TELLS U ABOUT THE POOR POLICIES THIS COUNTRY HAS TOWARDS DEVELOPMENT
IT TELLS YOU THAT THIS IS REAL VILLAGE CITY NOT CAPITAL
IT SHOCKS YOU BY THE CONTRADICTION OF THE WORD INTERNATIONAL???
IT TELLS YOU THAT THERE IS NO INVESTMENT BUT INFESTATION OR EXTERNALIZATION…
THE RECEPTION OUTSIDE TELLS YOU THAT THE PEOPLE ARE DRUNKERS—-mosi larger posters——what a mess. instead of touristic kind of pictures the airport is decorated with beer– what a shame!!!!!!
KEEPING UP APPEARANCES IS VERY IMPORTANT. the first impression is the best perception

  9. Ba Katayi:
Be reminded that Most countries would not alow you to enter with dry fish (or meat) due to quarantine measures, so next time you are on vacation just cooperate with the staff- jst remove your fish from your bag. And dont ‘make noise’, show some civilisation by reasoning with them. I however agree with u on sad state of the bulding we call intl airport. Our politicians would rather spent money on (unnessary) by-elections and world tours than developing infrastructure – very sad.
#1. English wil forever be our second language, so it would be unfair to expect Mr Katayi (or yourself) to write perfect english – sometimes kulabomfya fye ubukaya to make sense out of nonsense

  10. ‘Lagos is worse’ is not a defence. Ndola Airport!! And someone calls that collection of Second World War bunkers an international airport! In Southern Africa Lusaka and Ndola are the worst airports.

  11. no one has built on what KK built.
KK WAS A VISIONARY LEADER, A DEVELOPER FROM EAST TO WEST SOUTH TO NORTH.
he was ver stratergic in all he was doing, for example HE BUILT unza BUT HE LEFT A BIG PORTION OF LAND FOR EXPANSION..HE NEW THAT AS WE GROW WE WILL NEED EXTRA CLASSROOMS, EXTRA HOSTELS ETC. HE BUILT CHAINAMA COLLEGE AGAIN HE LEFT A BIG PORTION OF LAND FOR EXPANSION NOT FOR INFESTATION AS WE SEE TODAY ON UNZA LAND ETC…. MANY PLACES HE DID THE SAME, BUT SINCE MMD CAME INTO POWER, THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING MORE THAN POLITICAL ENGINEERING……..WE DO NOT HAVE A LEADER WITH SUCH VISION..KK IS THE BEST SO FAR……..ZCCM DID WONDERS IN THE COPPERBELT….THE CITIES WHERE THE BEST IN AFRICA….HOSPITALS WERE THE BEST IN AFRICA, SOCIAL AMENTIES AND MANY MORE WERE AMONG THE BEST IN THE WORL

  12. OMG,at this rate i don’t even know how or why a zambezi airlines or those of other countries should continue to operate from this airport. This airport is a weaklink in that a terrorist knows O.R Tambo or Cairo airport security is tight. So why not bribe your way in Lusaka and plant a bomb in a plane or hijack from there if security at your target airport in the other place is impenetrable?
This is why any zed airline could never be allowed direct flights to USA. as the home airport of the airline has to be certified by the F.A.A.

  13. The uplift of the building can only come up if it is privatised/sold to some indians or chinese that will run our airport. Not Government. Dont you realised that the beautiful buildings coming up in Lusaka have nothing to do with Government. National airports itself is formed under corruption, nepotism…what do we espect?

  14. Airport staff @ LUNINTL are mostly unproffessional and have nor regard of who they are handling unless its politicians. They lack remorse in their sloppy acts. I encountered a sleeping cashier at the newly introduced airport fees counter. She awoke and did not bother to freshen up before attending to travellers, the whole episode was disgusting to say the least. In any case it doesnt have to be GRZ to incalcate proffessionalism but company client servicel ethics.

  15. I doubt if this man is Zambian. I am not trying to defend the airport and its old and unsightly buildings. Granted, the terminal needed serious attention which only a youthful leader could do not the ones in the evening of their lives.
Now he raises the issue of begging, may be It’s been a while since I travelled out of the country using the International Airport. I sense some exaggeration in this gentleman’s description of the work culture. Several occasions, I have never experienced, not even suggestive, any one begging me to leave money for them either for talktime, lunch or for whatever. It could be in the attitute of this man. How does he carry himself when at the airport? If you let people carry yo buggage and expect them not to ask for money, then yu shooting yoself in foot

  16. I don’t know if this has changed but i almost died in Dec 2009 in the banker like corridors going to board. it was so hot and the fans were not helping at all and we were made to wait in there for like 45min. We were littering frying. I know airport expansions have to do with the capacity of passengers and aircrafts but please do something about the comfort of passengers at least

  17. Ba number 1 “Kashimani” ichisungu te chitundu chesu! You are a wasted and pathetic Zambian! Why boast about the language. The arguments of the writter are plainly put for anyone to understand.

  18. #17 i agree with you. its how this man carries himself. ba mafika na boasting. i have used the airport on a regular basis since 2005 and nobody has asked me for money. and that story about leaving money for a project, wasnt it supposed to be done at home and not when he was about to go through security? thats why bamakupempani.
pa SA pali bad. i have heard the bags are opened and stuff goes missing as long as you are connecting through OR Tambo. Ine thats why ni Heathrow Terminal 5 na British Airways forever.

  19. The author should pay a visit to National Airports Corporation. They do have a plan of uplifting their airports including LIA and I think i have seen an artist impression of how the airport will look. This is why i agree with people that journalism has gone to the dogs in Zambia they normally only have one side of the story.

  20. There is great wisdom in admitting when pipo point out faults and that is the way to development. I totally agree with the author our airport leaves much to be desired in terms of infrastructure and work culture of the staff. I have had similar incidences of being confronted by beggars in uniform at the airport. Its ok to tip them but when one asks and expects it then it no longer becomes a tip. I often wonder what the role of our High Commissioners and Ambassadors is when they live outside if its not to bring back the best advice on systems they find working well outside Zambia. I dont believe that Zambia is such a poor country that it can fail to give a facelift to the airport. Its just greed that has taken over value.

  21. #11 Kamba Timvere
Saying, ‘Lagos is worse’ is stating a fact but not excusing. I have had a problem with Zambians who complain about corruption everyday but never report the culprits to the ACC. The reason is simple, most Zambians do benefit from corrupt practices, but only complain when it is to their disadvantage. I am reminded of the late Kebby Musokotwane, who reported a Greek national who gave him a ‘gift’ to the ACC. We can deal with corruption. We have investigative journalists who can carry out ‘sting’ operations. There are spy video cameras these days as small as a pen which retail at $200. Can’t all these be used to collect evidence? Once these culprits are named and shamed on national TV, they will end their practice.

  22. Can someone tell us how many flights land and take off from and how many passengers pass through Lusaka International Airport everyday? I see no reason to build a Nairobi type terminal when we have so few passengers. Indeed we can plan for more in future, but at the present time, the priorities must be elsewhere. We need to improve the facilities such as ablution rooms and waiting lounges but we do not need to engage in more building projects. The money is needed elsewhere. Otherwise this is like trying to improve your sitting room when you don’t have beds in your bedroom and there is no food in the kitchen and you have an outside pit latrine and you can’t afford to send your children to school!

  23. #21 those are his views dont mis use the adage muleikalafye mayo tata. mwati nokuti journalism has gone to dogs…yaba what is he is a chemical engineer who wants to express himself?
I agree with the author the airport needs a plastic surgery. it can even be compared to a domestic airport. worse our president is always out of the country and has seen how international airports look like but it doesnt bother him. I went to Swaziland and was impressed with what i saw.

  24. #13 and 19 both of you are dull, period. Why do you insult people who are expressing their opinions? You find pleasure in writing insults. You are big headed for nothing and do not think you are the only ones who know how to insult. Only small brains like yours can write like you did.

  25. I’ve traveled thro’ that airport and have never personally experienced ‘begging’. I’m not saying the author is lying but I’ve been thro’ OR Tambo and have lost bags there. When they are found after like 2 days, they’ve been opened and my wealth has been re-distributed.
Not only that, at OR, criminals will follow you to your hotel (even as far as Sandton) and rob you as you’re checking into the hotel, with the receptionists looking on wide-eyed in shock.
Let’s just say, we all have our problems and the best thing to do is to offer solutions rather than blanket criticism.

  26. Lusaka and Ndola international airports. How can you call such airstrips as international airports? Ask our undergraduate students and they will tell you how an international airport is supposed to look like. #24, in Zambia, we have had good plans on paper for years without implemetation. Bwezani came from a ka small farm in Chipata and he does not see anything wrong with Lusaka airstrip. Kafupi was just interested in suits and shoes than developing the airport. Sadly, he killed Zambia Airways. Only KK had a vision for development.

  27. The author of the article appears to be the man that is always on international trips. Thus, I am assuming having read the piece.

My advise to the author “Gerald Nkisu Katayi “ is that , since you are a Zambian, again I am assuming, why don’t you start by taking the lead by inviting International or Local Investors to work collectively on developing the Airport.

It’s this kind of attitude, when we wait for the government to do every thing for the nation, which will take us nowhere or long to progress.

Zambia needs bold and courageous people that can move mountains and take the progressive attitude to influence investments and national development.

  28. 1. Some of you friends are just arm chair critics. If the author’s grammar is poor; direct us to your works. That way you give us a good example. “Writing is not easy,” we have many learned people today, but very few will try writing. Moreover, the writer is not working a lone, what about the editor?
    2. Fish is allowed, what is not allowed is dry meat.
    3. Some bloggers have a very low level of tolerance. This article is not a matter of life and death; learn to be kind and use “civilized” language when you’re sharing an open forum like this one.
    Thanks for the article.

  29. # 30. I hear you, but we are all different my friend. In one country some are soldiers, doctors, teachers and writers. You can not invite a writer to be something else. He is doing his part, let us also do what we are able.
On another part. Hotels, Motels, Lodges, Resthouse etc sound like they are the same. But very different. The grading and palnning of a Hotel are dif from a Motel. That is the same with “International Airport” and “Air Strip.” they are different. If Lusaka is an ” International Airport,” let it meet the standard. Otherwise let it bear Lusaka air strip.

  30. #29 Matero University
I am sorry to say but you are showing a lot of ignorance.
    1. What makes an international airport is not the buildings, sir/madam, it is purely an act of law by statutory instrument. International is added if there will be border control officers.
    2. The runway and air traffic control are the most important things for flights. Runways are categorized according to international standards and this determines what type of aircraft can land there and whether there can be night flight. What I would be concerned about at our international airport is security and furnishings as well as decor.

  31. The National Airport Authority is responsible for looking after our airports, but how do they raise the money needed when Zambian Airways and The Post owed so much and were being protected by Magande?

  32. The writer has raised a very serious issue and he needs a pat on the back. Forget the gramatical errors. The airport is an embarassment and it does not deserve to be called international. Its pathetic, the services are pathetic, the facilities are pathetic, the toilets are pathetic! Its indeed a third world country. If GRZ is serious and if rupia can admire the various airports he frequents then they can restructure the whole thing. Zambians, lets not get used to mediocrity.
Yes, airport staff are rude and they always want nichekeleko! Its like serving you should come at a personal cost! Yah Zambia che! tuchinje!

  33. THE STRUCTURE PROBLEM IS NATIONAL AIRPORTS AUTHORITY LACK OF VISION AND CAPACITY. THE STAFF UNFORTUNATELY EVER SINCE ZAMBIA AIRWAYS WAS KILLED HAVE BEEN SURVIVING BY ACQUIRED BEGGING SYNDROME – JUST DONT PAY ATTENTION . THE MUZUNGUS AND OTHER FOREIGNERS ENJOY BEING BEGGED SO THEY ENCOURAGE THE NONESENSE.

  34. Obviously the author has not traveled extensively, Lsk. Int. is not that bad. I’ve seen more lifeless airports worse than Lsk. Int. and OR outside Africa, including USA. A face lift is of course welcome, but cammon people let’s not look down upon ourselves that way. We should learn to offer progressive ideas without condemning, coz the begging Katayi is talking about, I experienced that at OR where a female staff asked for something for a drink in a charming manner! At Lsk.Int nobody asked me for anything! My bags were lost at the biggest airport, Atlanta, but you can understand why, it’s busy, I got them 2days later, ok. Everywhere in the world there good people and bad people, development and under development. Personally I appreciate what we have in Zed, we can do better tho!

  35. the author may have travelled extensively but i think he has not been in touch extensively. there is a new airport being built to replace the old one. the current airport will be for local travels while the new will cater for the international travels. Mr author i think you are the most corrupt person,

  36. Personally I dont mind the buildings. I have never had issues with my bags.

I just want to urge Zambians to stop bringing the whole family and friends to the airport to welcome 1 person. There is no waiting area for relatives and they all just crowd the doors. I dont want to be smiling at your stupid camera when I have been traveling for 24hours!

  37. #25 Dr Ngoma I beg to disagree with you.Look at Singapore airport its become a major transit point, planes stop there before proceeding to their destinations this earns their economy US$2billion a year.Lusaka is centrally located and could be a transit point tooearning Zambia lots of money. But because our airport leaves much to be desired planes are forced to fly all the way to South Africa before proceeding elsewhere. For instance we had a conference in Mozambique and our Nigerian counterparts had to fly first to SA then connect to Mozambique. It would have been easier to stop in Zambia then fly to Maputo. But alas we continue worry about ablution blocks while SA cashes in on our missed opportunity here.

  38. Yes our Lusaka Air Port is bad…try visit the Djili of DRC- Congo! You will appreciate Zambia! Good idea but we need to change the face of it. I think in southern Africa we are the worst!

  39. I agree with you # 17. I live in the USA and travel several times to Zambia. I have not been approached by anyone begging for money. However, I do give “tips” to those who offer to assist me carry my luggage. I do agree with the writer, though, that the government need to do something about our aiport. It is old and it needs to be brought to an international standard.

  40. zambian leaders have let our country down big time.i am even surprised that you guys complain about the airport when the country has no airline at all.Its the only country i know without an airline. The country owns nothing. Why do they hate the country so much.Gave away the mines,Zamtel and still want to give away ZANACO,ZESCO etc.No pride,No national pride.Thats why you find zambians wearing SAfrican,Tanzanian national football jerseys……SHAMEFUL

  41. I use the airport at least every other month in the last 6 years, I’ve never experienced any begging but I have had bags delayed countless times on SAA route.
I agree the airport needs a facelift, I also agree the NAC should remove the kachasu and chibuku ads, they are very misleading for a Christian Nation and do not reflect the Zambia tourism rebranding that our dear Minister of Tourism has embarked on.

  42. I do agree with the writer, too much corruption at the airport Indians and whites are regarded as VIPs in most cases they do not even lineup those boys and girls check them in even if they are using fake passports. However, ladies and gentlemen Joburg airport is the worst in terms of corruption if you have not experienced it yet just wait.My wife was connecting fying out of J’burg to Australia they claimed she her laggage was overweight therefore they demanded 500Rands for lunch if she wanted the excess weight to be ignored! She did not pay a cent and laggage was checked in !Lets not even talk about the Nigerian crooks how they have taken over South Africa. Our airport indeed need a facelight within our means.

  43. Number 38 sipho
u are in southafrica probably u use road more often. Your claim is not true I gues.

  44. One MMD vuvuzla told me in November 2011, that MMD were building a new Airport (if i can call it terminal 2) next to the old one, but up to now i have not heard anything tangible from this MMD twanakanabo.

The new airport with latest facilities should have been built a long long time.

  45. Very true but again it boils down to the people in the civil service and the general citizenry. We seem to be content with having sub standard service, buildings, leadership. In general we seem to be content with having a poor Zambia. Where for instance will we get money for an international airport when we cant collect money from our copper? Waiting for some Chinese grant I bet. We have the council allowing ugly structures in Kamwala to crop up day in day out. Just where do people study there town planning? If smaller places like Kamwala next to town can look like that I bet those with authority think LIA is beautiful.

  46. Typical Zedians accepting low standards, that bloody building must be demolished to make way for a state of the art international airport, f*ck!

  47. The Govt of the day pliz make an uplift of our modest Lsk intl Airport.try to emulate Addis Ababa,Jomo Kenyatta or Khartoum intl Airports thats how an intl Airport is supposed to look like not our Muppet arrangement…etc.

  48. Everything mentioned in this article is very true. I had a guy following me at the baggage claim telling me that I was going to pay a lot of money if I go through customs. He signaled to another guy standing by the “arrivals door” and he got my baggage on a trolley and pushed it right through the door. I had no cash on and then hell broke loose. He threatened to report me to the authorities and he walked back into the building angry to “report” me but just at that moment my sister arrived and I wasted no time jumping into the car. Thats life but remember this not only happens in Zambia but I experienced something similar at Oliver Tambo. The workers were begging me for money and when I said I didn’t have it they became abuse and wondered how I would be boarding a plan to US without…

  49. Why do we want to debate the obvious bad elements of the system back home. Am afraid regardless of the number of passengers that our airport services there is a lot we can change, but first before we change all these we need to change the GOVT.

  50. We all need to rise and demand what we deserve as a people,Why do we allow politicians to steal from us and worse still to take away what we actually had. There is no intrastructure development in Zambia for years Even the little we had was taken away by politicians.Kaunda cared but all that he had put in place is now gone. Are we going to vote wisely this year or we should be content with the way things are

  51. The last time I used that airport, I paid about $20 as airport tax. Do they still charge that stupi.d tax? By the way, I wouldn’t want to sit next to you with your fish stinking all the way. For crying out loud, why do that?

  52. We dont need to wait for the population of transiting passengers or the number of airport users to increase for the infrastructure to be improved. The national airports corporations should start looking at future projects which might necessitate the expansion of the airport. For instance, what will happen if Zambia is targeted to host international events such as Africa cup, all African games , etc. It is quite interesting to note that Oliver Tambo Int. airport is still expanding beyond 2010 and they did not only focus on the world cup they hosted. Plse divert the by- election money to serious projects. We also need to know how the airport taxes we pay are accounted.

  53. Our “investments” minister, Mutati, hasn’t brought in investors to upgrade the airports. The way this man talks one would think Zambia is heaven on earth but alas there are no benefits to the Zambians. No wonder Zambia is a good investment destination, they take all their money out !

  54. The Airport is not a bad structure and is unique as there are not many airports where you can feel the heat and smell the fresh Zambian air once you land, the place could do with a refurb and some staff training. My concern is Ndola Iternational! Part of the airport is thatched and it is so run down! It is an embarrasment!

As for #1 Kashimani, the chizungu we speak is unique to us, we do not speak the queens English as neither do Americans, Australians or any other English speaking nations for that matter!

  55. Its a known fact. Our airport leaves much 2 be desired. Can not b compared to other airports within our region…its shameful especially 2 our visitors

  56. (Yawn)….Instead of going on about how pathetic the place looks, go petition the parliamentarians about a facelift, like some foward thing citizens want to do with the 50%+1 Constitution clause…And stop this crap about using sloppy English and saying it is not your first language, WTF!…I bet you bribed your way to get the Grade 12 certificate, because passing English is the primary requirement…no wonder the airport looks so shoddily Third World! WTF!

  57. (Yawn)….Instead of going on about how pathetic the place looks, go petition the parliamentarians about a facelift, like some foward thinking citizens want to do with the 50%+1 Constitution clause…And stop this crap about using sloppy English and saying it is not your first language, WTF!…I bet you bribed your way to get the Grade 12 certificate, because passing English is the primary requirement…no wonder the airport looks so shoddily Third World! WTF!

  58. I think Lusaka airport is great , it is clean, friendly and easy to find your way around and you do not have the horrific long lines and delays you get in the so called ” first world ” airports that are more like cities they are so big. In London Heathrow it costs a fortune to park your car miles away, and then takes about 20 minutes to get to the terminal building. In Lusaka you park right outside . Same applies to resturants bars etc . New Manda Hill is getting a bit too London though ,I much prefer Arcades ….

  59. magnificent points altogether, you just received a new reader. What might you suggest in regards to your post that you made some days in the past? Any certain?

  60. I have fun with, result in I found exactly what I used to be looking for. You have ended my 4 day long hunt! God Bless you man. Have a great day. Bye
