CB junior select embarass Zambia U17

The Zambia Under-17 Boys Team was on Saturday booed by fans after losing 5-1 to a Copperbelt Select side in a practice match at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe.

The Chris Kaunda-coached side has set up camp in Kitwe ahead of the 2015 Africa Youth Championship qualifiers to begin next March.

Mining Rangers promising youngster Steven Muma registered a brace as the select side thrashed the National Under-17 Team.

Ex-Nkana striker Musole Sakulanda’s son Chrispin, Harrison Musonda and Benson Chali were also on the scoresheet for the Zeddy Saileti coached-Copperbelt Select.

Meanwhile, striker Elias Kapembwa scored Zambia’s face-saver in the first half.

The select side enjoyed massive support from a handful of fans that watched this practice match.

  1. The U17 team sounds like they were picked from Lusaka. Well, a good time to switch players before they embarrass the U17 girls!

    • Yes the all Under 17 is from Lusaka, but the worse of all is that you have that Kaunda for a coach, while coaches like Zeddy, Chintu and Tenant are being misused for practicing matches only.

  2. Where did u pick those emberrasing boys u call under 17 Zambia national team?from kabulonga or any of the ‘ku’ ?Ataa nifi poleji.Pick from C/belt nd Kalingalinga,Chawama, kanyama nd rural areas. ‘kwamana!’Do something otherwise will boo dem even LK

  3. Many thanks to FAZ and government for beginning preparations this early. And yes, why not, start dropping any under performers and infusing in some ‘fresh discoveries’. Keep up the good work you have started!

  4. You are right Renard! Don’t wait until we cry! Seriously, swap ’em boys and swap the coaches. It shows those selected are not the right material if there are other who could show us potential lets get ’em. It is not late yet.

    • Iwe kapalala, read the article!!!

When did Zambian parents start giving their girls names such as Steven, Chrispin, Harrison, Benson, or Elias???????

  5. Lets learn to consider rurals when it come to the selection of players for the national team reason being that there is massive talent in these area than just concentrating in urban areas which in most cases has failed.

  6. Yambayamba Peace is just shocked with the news. He can’t digest this trash. He thinks if it were the under 17 girls team it could be understood unlike the boys.

  7. All the credit to FAZ and the under 17 coaching staff for bringning this idea of checking and shaking up the team before its too late……..you saw the best players for yourself, they beat the under 17 NATIONAL side with ease in all aspects,,,,,thats why it was an embarrasing moment for zambian football….NOW YOUR JOB NOW IS TO DO WHAT RIGHT FOR THE WHOLE NATION. and pick players based on merit..” we ll always support then ” thank you.
