Nkana travel to Uganda with suspended player

Share

Nkana will be a man down for today’s CAF Champions League away clash in Uganda against KCCA due to an administrative oversight over a player’s eligibility.

Defender Maybin Chishimba is ineligible to face KCCA this afternoon in Kampala because he is suspended.

Nkana officials only discovered the anomaly during Friday night’s CAF pre-match meeting in Kampala.
Chishimba, who travelled with the team on Wednesday, will miss the match after accruing two yellow card in Nkana’s last two CAF Champions League matches.

The defender received his first yellow card in Nkana’s 5-2 win over Mbabane Swallows on February 15 in Kitwe.

His second came on March 1 against KCCA for a handball in the box in the second half that handed the Ugandan’s the equaliser.

Nkana will now only have 17 players available for the first round return leg decider.

Masauso Zimba is expected to start in Chishimba’s place following the oversight.

Team:
Goalkeepers: Rabson Mucheleng’anga, Charles Mweemba
Defenders: Derrick Mwansa, Masauso Zimba, Donsahano Malama, Maybin Chishimba, Billy Mwanza, Christopher Munthali, Noel Phiri

Midfielders: Claude Bwalya, Mwila Kabwe, Shadreck Musonda, Sydney Kalume, Kelvin Mubanga,

Strikers: Francis Kombe, Lottie Nyambili, Ronald Kampamba, Simon Bwalya

  1. Whats wrong with the Zambian teams!! U mean u can’t keep track of the players as in who is eligible or not this shows that admin are not on top of things and even the player himself couldn’t say a thing? This could really have been a disgrace had Nkhana won only to be stripped off the 3 points like Sudan Zambia game . Let’s get serious guys! Sha!!!!!!

    • Not only admin, the player himself to blame. Its like traveling when you have diarrhea without telling your coaches.

    • # Nostradamus..
The player is under the manager.. Coaches MUST know the rules of the game and apply them in every competition to maintain a clean record, otherwise ignorance will predominate.

  2. wats the job of administraters at nkana? even the player himself could hav told the staff. i understand,ni nkhani yaka ngono.zat cant happen ku chelsea, theater of dreams, benfica, olo pa nkwazi.

  3. The official responsible and the player must be displined for the inconvinience caused and for the loss of money paid to an uneligible player.

  4. # Nostradamus..

  5. We dont need to comment more & more over the issue of Chishimba since the have noticed there wil not feature the prayer. We only have 2hr 30min to GO & @ 17hrs wil be cerebrating in the streets of KITWE & Zambia @ large.
    “12 TIME CHAPION”.

  6. You are over confindence, mind you the fate may fall over Nkana. The failure to win the home match is an indication that KCC is a strong FC. Nkana underrated their opponet based on history.. They be reminded that underdogs nowadays stun the favourites.

  7. My goodness me! How did management at Nkana allow this to happen and what about the cost implications apart from the inconveniences? TOTAL STUPIDITY! iIs there management or administration in place at Nkana or is it ba Kaponya from the streets of Kitwe? I do not think that this kind of administration or is it maladministration is only at Nkana but other clubs as well. Players must also be honest and start revealing such things to management. Leave this space open so that we hear what excuse Nkana management would give if not the usual “oversight”! Someone must lose the job over this surely!

  8. Imagine if the player or manager were a president.

What kind of oversight is that, especially when Zambia has raised complaints against others in the past? Hopefully, there is no “Match-fixing” in all this.

  9. Ful time PINTO in Kampala

NKANA FC (Kalampa) has WON 2 to 1.
    Claud Bwalya
    Chris Muntari.
No doubt, we are really Zambian
    “12 TIME CHAMPION”.

    Let’s cerebrate our VICTORY.
