FDA campaign team attacked in Isoka

Share

The Forum For Democratic Alternatives (FDA) campaign team was allegedly attacked in Isoka district by suspected PF cadres.

And FDA failed to hold a rally in Isoka yesterday because the party failed to obtain a police permit as the Police Officer -in -Charge was reported to have had a bereavement.

FDA organizing secretary for press and public relations Francis Chipalo said in a statement released to ZANIS in Lusaka today that suspected PF cadres led by Isoka District commissioner Evelyn Kangwa threatened the FDA campaign team not to stick posters in the district.

Mr Chipalo said the suspected PF cadres told the FDA campaign team that no other party was allowed to hold rallies in the district apart from the PF.

Meanwhile, FDA general secretary Wesley Miyanda has condemned the harassment of his party officials by Ms Kangwa and suspected PF cadres.

He said Zambia was a democratic nation and that anyone was free to conduct campaigns in any area as long as the Public Order Act was followed.

And FDA president Ludwig Sondashi only managed to have a chat with Isoka residents who went to the guest house where he was lodging to greet him because no police officer could issue a police permit for the rally to take place. .

Addressing his supporters , Dr Sondashi pledged to give Isoka residents massive development once elected Republican President this month on January 20.

He further explained that the reason he wanted to introduce federalism of provinces was so that people in a particular province could be able to run their own affairs as opposed to receiving orders from central government.

    • Just leave those areas and come back. So u can live to see another day. It’s clear People don’t want u in those areas. Is it a forcing matter? Why do u g provoke them in their homes?

    • You have no clue what democracy is my man/woman. No part of Zambia belongs to any body and all are equal as per constitution. People like you need to be prosecuted for inciting violence. There are now only 17 days and you will still need each other in the streets and elsewhere while the wining candidate will be enjoying their life while you wallop in perpetual misery due to poor political decisions.

  1. Most of the people supporting PF are not educated unfortunately they vote for thier friends with no vision for the country. Join HH and vote for him.

    • No Elite shall ever rule Zambia again. Down with elites. It is now for the marginalised to have equal say in who leads them and what shall be the agenda of development. All those who stole through privatisation, liquidations, receiverships, oil deals (Iranians through Maureen’s boyfriend at bank owned by an Asian) shall be made to bring back what they got by false pretense and plundering. Time to vote for EL, a humble and down to earth commoner, one of us. Viva EL.

  2. Now this is utter nonsense! What are these stories we are hearing from this province kansi? I have been to Northern Province several times[before it was divided into two] and the people there are really nice. I therefore do not want to believe that there is some atavistic instinct still lurking under their skins to account for this type of behavior. One can only point to the PF leadership as the main instigators of this violence. Coupled with this is their belief that NP is a no go area for other parties apart from PF. All Zambians who value the future of this country should vote out these people come January 20th. They should forever remain buried and only exist in the history books.

  3. @Panafricanist please edit your comments before posting or you are bipolar!PF is not for poor people-you cretin!Look at their life styles,Ask them where they go when they get sick & ask them where their children are getting their education from? You are very primitive & politically dead!Get a life & upgrade your mental faculties!

  4. Who is running this country of intolerance? It’s hard to be in charge of ALL, while having vested interest in seeing your own campaign do well, but it is not impossible. Try it. Your votes will come in regardless…

  5. Is FDA a factor in the coming elections? Why would PF even think of fighting a one man party even if it is being desperate or violent. I think this is a case of some people desperate to be given SF 2000. This is like saying President A. Muliokela was blocked from filing in his nomination because he was a big threat.

  6. WHEN IS THIS NONSENSE GOING TO STOP. WHY MUST PARTIES OBTAIN POLICE PERMIT BEFORE CAMPAIGNING?
PLEASE ZAMBIANS LET US REMOVE THIS PATHETIC PARTY CALLED pf.VOTE THEM OUT IN 17 DAYS PLEASE!
    VOTE FDA,MMD,UPND ONLY.

  7. How can Police work depend on only one Police Officer?

Either you are lying, disorganised, left the informing of the Police too late or the Police in area just didn’t want to give you a go ahead.
