Former First Lady Christine Kaseba says she is confident that President Sata’s legacy will continue under President Edgar Lungu.

Dr Kaseba said that Mr Lungu’s ascendancy to power has given her confidence that President Sata’s vision will live on.

The former first lady told ZANIS that President Lungu is able and well placed to continue with the massive infrastructure development, employment and wealth creation and other development programmes initiated by the late head of state.

Dr Kaseba pointed out that President Lungu’s development agenda of lifting the poor out of poverty and ensuring that Zambians have a meal every day are key issues in the PF manifesto.

She said the PF manifesto is a ten year development plan that is feasible and urged the country to rally behind President Lungu in his efforts to improve the welfare of Zambians.

Dr Kaseba further explained that people misunderstood her when she ran for PF presidency and her only motivation was to ensure that President Sata’s legacy was remembered and honoured.

  1. Sata had Scott, but got fired by Lungu,
and Sosala got an endorsement, when it was loud and clear that Sata never would have allowed him to be chitimukulu. And we are counting…
What legacy is she talking about.

    • How?
Edgar Lungu has gone against Sata’s vision of not recognizing Henry Sosala as Chief Chitimukulu by recognizing him. This in its entirety is not Sata’s vision but hypocrisy.

    • When the the Defense Minister Hon. Edgar Lungu approached the President MCS to understand what the issue was with Mwine Lubemba, President Sata told EL not to worry as everything was in the process to address the impasse and normalize the relationship. Based on material fact with respect to the process President Sata had initiated and the progress made, President Lungu has just pended his executive office signature finishing up what President Sata had initiated.

Not following through would have been sitting on a good initiated effort of reconciliation and peace started by the late President.

    • we all know that PF will never be able to ensure that every Zambian is able to afford a meal a day. They failed under Sata and for sure not under Lungu.

This is campaign material for UPND in 2016

    • Kaseba should weighed her desire to enhance Sata’s legacy against her own chances of winning a presidential race. She would could have ended up killing the same legacy she was aiming to preserve because she was definitely going to LOSE AT THE BALLOT

    • @ Chils

“A MEAL A DAY” DOESN’T COME FROM PF BUT FROM YOUR HANDS, IF YOU FOLD THOSE HANDS WAITING FOR THE GOVERNMENT, THEN IT IS YOU WHO HAVE FAILED YOUR FAMILY TO HAVE A MEAL A DAY, NOT THE GRZ OR PF.

    • This woman, what legacy? The legacy you should have tried to preserve just after burying him but you decided to create your own legacy by moving forward with your life and starting a political career barely 2 weeks after burying your husband. Shame. Ask for a ministerial job if you need one, don’t talk about legacies you never cared about. You are a medical doctor, go back to what you know and do best.

    • SataN was the MOST useless President. He NEVER ADDRESSED people during his presidency he was a Facebook president and the most furtive.

Chiluba was a conman BUT he could face his people and could utter the following: ‘Country men and women’. I miss Chiluba.

UPND is bringing sanity to Zambian politics in few Month’s time. NEVER GIVE UP !.

    • I TULY AND HONESTLY BELIEVE WHATEVER YOU HAVE SAID KASEBA. UNDER LUNGU- PF (INCLUDING GUY SCOTT) THE LEGACY OF SATA OF DEVELOPING ZAMBIA WILL NOT ONLY LIVE ON BUT BE EVEN MORE PRACTICAL AS A FEW LESSONS HAVE BEEN LEARNED DURING THE TRANSITION TO CHANGE OF PRESIDENCY. NO ONE FROM ANOTHER PARTY WOULD WANT TO CARRY ON ANOTHER PARTY’S GOOD JOB. I TOO, AGREE WITH YOU 100% THAT YOU WANTED TO STAND FOR PRESIDENCY FOR THE SAME REASON OF CARRYING ON THE LEGACY OF YOUR LATE HUSBAND. YOU ARE A VERY HONEST WOMAN/LADY.

I UNDERSTAND FULLY WHAT YOU ARE GOING THROUGH WITH THE LOSS OF YOUR BELOVED ONE (JUST LIKE OTHERS) AND WISH YOU GOOD HEALTH. I LOVE YOU.

    • If Lungu will continue with Sata’s legacy, then he will not be a good president.

    • Lusaka Times – 24th December 2014

Paramount Chief Chitimukulu designate Henry Kanyanta Sosala has revealed that he and late Republican President Michael Sata had reconciled their perceived differences long before the former Head of State passed on.
He said the reconciliation was evident by the late President’s decision to honour him for distinguished national service at the investiture ceremony held on Independence Day in Kasama.
Mr. Sosala said currently the Bemba Royal Establishment was enjoying a good relationship with the PF government after some succession disputes between the two parties.
Mr. Sosala was speaking yesterday when some PF campaign team led by Mr. Lungu’s media spokesperson Emmanuel Mwamba paid a courtesy call on him at his palace in Malole.

  3. Kaseba shouldn’t think that Sata was liked by Zambians. Noways, its only a Zambian tradition to praise the dead. LEGACY!!? Bamukamfwilwa bamo awe mwee, kuti watukana.

  4. UPND minions on this forum ar such liars, and still living in denial. During the campaign trail when EL said, even before Sata died, a process of recognising Sosala was well under way, and tht Sata had reconciled with Chitimukulu….a matter which Mwine Lubemba confirmed; why cant you just upload a good thing, instead of rubbishing anything that El & PF does.
You are as bitter as your HH, always trying to trivialise even good efforts. “Ichiweme, chiilombela umucele.” Learn to appreciate the good things.
Nostradumus and Wanzelu, grow up!! And let it sink in your thick skulls that we beat HH, and EL is the President.

    • What process? How long does it take Government to draft and have a statutory instrument signed? 3 years?

  5. Hahahahaha! Stup!d joke!

Satas legacy is that he was the worst President ever in Zambia, and maybe even in the World!

He L!ED and CHEATED Zambians and abused their National resources for his “medical tourisim”.

He never even gave ONE press conference to explain what he was doing and how he reversed all the L!ES he told just to get elected.

That is his LEGACY and what he will be remembered for!

    A L!ER and a CHEAT!

    • And YOU Kaseba were part of those lies, so better you keep the Zambian taxpayers money that you grabbed and your mouth SHUT!

Otherwise we may make you pay it back!

    • This country should never again allow politicians of SATA’s low caliber at the epitome of the governance process. Zambia has one of the largest number of ministers and bureaucratic structure in Africa and the world over because of him.He was the most re-known tribalist of our modern times

  6. Anyway it pains to realise that the person you are supporting will never ever rule Zambia because they think Zambia is one province.

  7. We are just watching, we want to see how Guy Scott will be treated by Edgar. EL should recognise Dr Scott for the role he played since formation of the party till he handed over power to him. This will be a determinant in the 2016 general elections otherwise we vigorously campaign for HH. Mark my words.

    • My friend read yo history well. When sata was forming of Scott was busy in Liam party. In short Scott is not amongst the founding members of of.

  8. The earlier we forget about Mr Sata the better.

Can you imagine a widow who remarries and keeps on referring to her former/late husband in intimacy with the new husband. How does the new husband feel about it.

This is LUNGU’s time and let’s forget about MC. He ran his race, he had his own strengths and weaknesses.

Let’s see what Lungu does and move on. If he fells us, we will change. If we are happy, we can continue with him. No need to change the winning formula. So far so good I think.

  9. Zambia’s presidential standards keep on going down. From Liar, smoker, polygamist to drunkard. What can’t Mulyokela be next president. Seriously if Mulyokela
became serious you will see the following he will get. Mark my words.

  10. Bamba! PF manifesto is a 10 years plan; that will be the next campaign gimick after the ‘let PF finish the term’! We want to see improvement in the lives of the citizens at large, not just the forest members – NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

  11. there is no legacy dr kaseba can boost of which el shuold uphold, let her just reflect on her recent past and plan how to fit in this new crooked govt for her to continue enjoying our hand earned money, but it is just for a while

  12. Ba Kaseba is better advised to just keep quiet. This country has to move forward and not backwards. This stupid talk about legacy should end. Let us allow our new President to govern unhindered. He should not be held hostage by a past that was not at all perfect. The none-recognition of Sosala by Sata, for example , was personal, vindictive and wrong. El has done the right thing.

  13. A legacty of being “fit and working hard” ikaleni fwe we chi mayo. Reflect on your lies, deciet and K1.5m you enjoyed. By the way long time no see on deadnbc at clinics and hospitals, are you back at UTH now that things have fallen apart…. Miss your permanent smile. Do you smile when you sleep too?

  14. THE ONLY LEGACY WHICH SATA LEFT IS THAT OF STEALING AND TELLING THE PEOPLE OF ZAMBIA LIES! KASEBA HERSELF WAS GIVEN A LOT OF PUBLIC MONEY BY HER LATE HUSBAND, AND UP TO NOW SHE HAS NOT ACCOUNTED FOR IT, AND THE WHOLE NATION DOESN’T KNOW WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED WITH THAT MONEY. IT IS THE SAME THIEVES REGROUPING THEMSELVES IN PF. ZAMBIANS WILL SUFFER UNDER VINDICTIVE LUNGU.

  15. Isn’t this the same lady who told off Lungu to form his own party and not to ride on her husband legacy?
Today she has confidence in him, what has changed?

    • She’s just joining the job seekers que, she has realised the easy money she got will eventually run out, ‘easy come , easy go’…..

  16. HH 2016 Awe Kaya mwandini.when other Provinces are thinking of voting like the Southerners en Westerners katwishi mwandini even the few votes that came from Muchinga,Luapula,Northern and part of Central i see them not coming forth ………….I therefore dobout HH winning the 2016 Elections……….maybe i dont know.

  17. Thanks Madam for the assurance. However you erred for not heeding our advice that you should not contest the PF-presidential election. You had a lot of support of Zambians but you just destroyed yourself. any way you have time to make build your reputation again.

    All the best madam.

  18. What on earth is this fabled Sata vision? These words “Sata vision” do not make any sense at all. Why should Lungu follow what Sata was doing? Was Sata some demi-God? Sata only got into power in 2011 and cannot be called very successful, can he? Was he the best President Zambia has had so far?

  19. If Lungu will continue with Sata’s legacy, then he will not be a good president.

  20. what legacy when he cant talk about corruption in all his speeches? decided to fire Guy, recognize chitimukulu, working with RB. anyway Rainbow is coming very strong on the ground.

  21. She is just a shameles woman. What legacy from Sata? Sata was man enough before he became President and that is what deceived the Zambians. As president he was useless. MHSRIT.

  22. Its true many people are waiting on how Dr Scot will be treated by Pres ELungu. Many of us has respect for him and what hes done for PF and leaving him out will be costly in 2016.

  23. Quote:-
‘Dr Kaseba further explained that people misunderstood her when she ran for PF presidency and her only motivation was to ensure that President Sata’s legacy was remembered and honoured.’

We are sorry we misunderstood you! However, for you and various members of your family to put yourselves up as candidates for Presidency when PF was almost a loser among the people was wrong and delusional of you. Your continued ‘high tone and patronising tone’ to President Lungu is unacceptable.

None of you, your Step son, and Sampa would have won these elections. PF would have been buried for good.

His EXCELLENCY LUNGU WAS THE ONE WHO SAVED PF AND GAVE IT A CHANCE. Nothing to do with legacy. Honour him fully and not undermine him as your servant to uphold your husband, but…

  24. Dr Kaseba, it is not correct that the PF Manifesto is a 10-Year Plan…The document is for 2011-2016, that is what is indicated on it.
