HH tours Agrictech Expo in Chisamba

Share

On Friday, I took time attend the 2nd Agrictech Expo being held at GART in Chisamba that showcases world-class farming technologies, agribusiness innovations and business-to-business network and transactions platforms designed to inspire the future of Zambian agriculture.

The Expo, featuring about 120 exhibitors from both Commercial and Small Scale farmers, is another testimony of our arguments in the UPND that Zambia has great potential to be self-sustaining in food production.

We have always emphasized on the need to diversify our economy to activities such as farming as a more sustainable route to job and wealth creation in our country grappling with high unemployment levels especially for the youths.

Our experience in Chisamba also reveals the need for the right economic mix that supports both the production and industrial sectors as a means to reducing escalating food prices in the country while creating employment through value addition to our products.

Support to local farmers through timely provision of cheap agriculture inputs is the only way we can empower them with disposable incomes to support their families in sending their children to schools and other necessities.

We have always insisted that Zambia has the potential to creating industries in food processing such as canning various types of our crops from our farmers that can be exported and generate foreign exchange that eventually stabilizes the currency away from the shocks of the usually volatile mining sectors.

With the available technology at the moment, it is really a shame that Zambia is still importing even vegetables, canned foods and drinks, and all sorts of things, yet we can easily empower our citizens to start producing and packaging them for local and export markets and in the process creating jobs.

Hakainde Hichilema
UPND President

    • I thought HH was mourning Dr. Banda’s wife. He went ahead to politic instead because that is where ECL had gone. This man is just power hungry. HH -your time will come tekanya! We will give you a vote next year. For now go mourn with the VP.

    • It’s the Komboni people who have no brains who keep voting for useless leaders! HH is the only answer for this smelly poverty stricken country!

    • No HH, No T-Bone steak. How I wish PF guys knew that the beef they enjoy at a PF braai comes from HH’s ranches. The places they buy the beef from are owned by HH and intimately the guys that employs and feeds them is HH

  1. Its better to be kachema as Jesus was a good shepherd than one who operates a bar contributing to beer abuse by youths.
Your back ground is there to show that you can do it if you can care for cattle you can do better with the country.
Keeping going those with eyes are seeing

    • He went to buy sausage at Fringilla hahaha. If indeed he is successful farmer, how come he only talks about important matters when on events?

      Under 5 indeed!!!

    • Some people always see politics in everything. We have a problem in Zambia coz these day even our debates are not making sense.

  2. Do not always subject the govt to unnecessary criticism and ultimatums. Lead by example giving REAL alternatives. You are also a leader from the other end.

  3. “Statement issued by UPND National Campaign Centre”?

Have you noticed this fellow bloggers?
Well since the statement was issued for campaign purposes then we will take it as HH just politicking as usual, nothing advisory, and nothing serious, as usual.

  4. Don’t be dull please read. HH went to Chisamba on Friday while drunkard Lungu went there on Saturday in a typical me too style having herd HH was also there. On Friday, the day HH went, Lungu delegated Inonge Wina and Lubinda to open the event so really there was no need for him to go again himself the following day other than fearing HH had stolen the show the previous day.

    • Typical of HH, he was informed that the president was going to the show on Saturday and wanted to beat ECL by going there on Friday.

  5. What I mean is that in the Jan 20 by election campaigns, we saw HH and Veep Canissius Banda issue the most weird and most impractical statements and promises coming from intellectuals. Thank God it was just politicking by HH, as usual.

  6. In your village, yes he rules and will rule but not in Zambia
Ask him why his claimed vision has seen him suffer 4 =0
He is going for 5=0 next year.
U5 must not be seen to always talk about basics which are not inspiring. Sata managed to hoodwink the masses and HH will not make using the same mimics.
HH must know that Sata was both popular and populist. HH is populist but not popular. This is why HH cannot win

  7. Djr wat eva your name is, can’t u b ashamed that your fellow fools have realized that pf z a failed project? Its only u and a few pf *****s commenting negative on HH….work up iwe chi tribalist. Grow up imbwa iwe.
