Northern Province Local Development Project (Introductory Trailer)

Share

Self Help Africa is implementing the five-year Irish Aid Local Development Project in Northern Province, Zambia.
For the duration of IALPD we are interviewing and filming people living in two villages in the project area, to document, in their words, the challenges that they face, and the impact that the work of Self Help Africa is having on their lives.
This is an introductory trailer to the documentary

  1. I have been involved in this project from the beginning up until now and I have differed with the approach Irish Aid through self help africa have taken on this project. I can assure you this is just a waste of money to say the least. In our coordination meetings, we have proposed workable measures that fit into the local situation, but unfortunately SHA feels they know it all.

  2. My skepticism in this project is raised in part due to the fact that the translation is not accurate and I suspect deliberately so. Why sensor the reference to God for instance?

  3. Good picture but not very imformative in terms of project implementation and actual plans. We have been shown what we already know – life in the villages and rural areas has always been a struggle.

  4. I have failed to locate the village referred to in the trailer as Nsunda which appeared to be in northern province approximately around mporokoso.
If this is another project of giving starter packages to the “poor” people, then it’s a waste of money and spoiling of the local people.

  5. I HAVE SIMPLY FAILED TO MAKE ANY COMMENT ON THE POVERTY OF NORTHERN PROVINCE. WHAT REALLY, DESCRIBES THE COUNTRY’S WEALTH? IS IT NOT PRIMARILY, IT’S FERTILE LAND, COPIOUS WATER, CONTINUOUS SUN ENERGY, YOUTHFUL POPULATION AND THEN LATER ON MINERALS AND PRECIOUS STONES? NORTHERN PROVINCE HAS GOT ALL THESE.
