    • My president drinks. No doubt he was drunk on this occasion even promoting a corporal to sergeant.hummm ba presido. See the look on the face of the other band member.
Anyway was a good night. Happy new mr presido.

    • How can you surely take lazy bum Edgar seriously after he gave that end of year speech about Zambia’s problems being affected by wholly external factors when he and his deputy ministers are partying like garden boys on payday at a local chibuku tavern celebrating getting a bonus.

    • Its a “sach” remaind for of the 80s its was the in thing then, Pop artist and groups like Shalamer, the Beetles, The Beeges, Atlantic Star, Star Point, wore saches when performing.

  1. The Zambia Army and its personnels have been reduced to nothing because of dictatorial tendencies, despite looking happy in these photos.A lot of money z paid by both officers and men to sustain army infrastructure and events such as the annual ball and building endless banquets and parlours for Generals and their clowns to enjoy.

  2. How come our president looks more at home in such places then cuts a humble figure when there is real work to be done.Could it be that that is where he belongs?

  3. The utterly Lazy bum Edgar doing what he excels at dressing up in silly attire, attending dinner function on time, dancing and drinking.

    • The utterly Lazy bum Jay Jay you never seize to amuse me with you hatred for EC. we know you are a poppa you cant dress-up in good attire and attend dinner function or late alone, dance or drink. its your fault because your are the most laziest blogger on LT. Your hatred will soon culminate in suicide come august 2016 when ECL will be re-elected President.

    • Imagine that’s the man who we have entrusted to take care of our treasury and loan repayments ….its laughable indeed..utter disgrace!!

  4. on the first photo we call the presido “ANAUKILWA”, THE last photo is what he will do later after leaving the annual ball as preparatory messages

  5. Just trying to think: I lived in South Africa x 10 years, no pictures of then de klerk, then Mandela, then Mbeki drinking up and dancing like a fool on new years day,,,, I then moved on to Australia for another 3 years,,,, still no pictures of John Howard, then Kevin Rudd indulging in this silliness, moved over to new Zealand for two years, still no pictures of Helen Clarke monkeying around ( a serious iron lady she was). Moved to the UK for a year,,,, still no pictures of Gordon Brown getting drunk and making a fool of himself. Jumped over to Canada,,,, still no sign of the hyper-sober Steven Harper showing not even a slightest indication of ever demeaning himself to any imaginable level. I just have one question; What is wrong with us zambians?

    • You have over moved my dear what are you looking for come home and celebrate with happy Zambians. The problem is that you look for happiness in wrong places, no place like home.

  6. • You sound like you do not have a base. In Zambia, we celebrate when it is celebration time, and allow photographers to do their jobs. In those useless countries you hoping in and out of, they will never allow photographers to take these kind of photos. Bwana, you have been in away too long, you have forgotten that we are a happy people…pa Zed!

  7. It is saddening to note how respectable ARMY ANNUAL BALLS have been reduced to tavern like drinking sprees. I used to attend ARMY BALLS in the late 1970s and they were moments when one had the chance to marvel at how respected our army officers were. Just to see deputy minister in that dance posture is enough to see how down the country has fallen. Its simply SHAME, SHAME and SHAME.

  8. Webman you are a fuuul. Dont forget that Edgar is a Zambian president with its own culture. Where have you seen a white man dancing other than jumping around. Please get sober from you pupu job you are doing in the diaspora. Come back home to live once more a decent life.

  9. The most important thing was the speech the President made, but hey, this is Zambia, we just love to see pictures!
No mention of what he said and why the Army Commander ‘CONGRATULATES’ him!

    Shame on Zambians.

  10. Maybe it’s just me, the wives need stylists and personal trainers. I see why most of these powerful men have side pieces. Mrs Mwanza too much un-swallowed vitumbuwa, Col. Mwanza probably eyeing the MC and the first lady always makes that ‘I’m taking a dump’ face.

  11. Webman,

What is wrong is that the skilled labor usually trained by Zambian tax payers money leave to practice the acquired skills in countries that can do without them.

    Lets look at Mr. Webman
South Africa –> Australia –> New Zealand –> UK –> Canada —–(No Zambia)

Now we know you are well traveled man but if you are not contributing in anyway in Zambia you really don’t have grounds to criticize.
