MMD President Dr. Nevers Mumba says President Edgar Lungu is elusive on the formation of an alliance between the MMD and PF.
Dr. Mumba says despite reaching out to President Lungu on the matter, the Head of State has not yet responded.
He says as things stand, there is no working relationship with the ruling PF.
Dr. Mumba has also noted communication breakdown with the MMD grassroots pertaining to the formation of an alliance with the ruling PF has also resulted in some MMD members endorsing the candidature of President Lungu.
And Dr. Mumba has advised MMD members to ignore reports that the party will be going to the convention next month.
He says the party’s extra ordinary convention will be held in 2017.
Dr. Mumba said this in Lundazi District when he addressed MMD members who he urged to ignore MMD Members of Parliament who recently endorsed the candidature of President Lungu in Chipata.
Speaking at the same event, MMD Lundazi District Chairman Godfrey Phiri says MMD Members of Parliament deceived them by telling them that the MMD is working with the PF.
He says this is why they endorsed the candidature of President Lungu at Mpezeni Park in Chipata recently.
Lungu is not elusive Sir, you have nothing to offer him. All you MPs are already with UPND or PF

Believe it or not, with or without a vision, however, Edgar Lungu is a master dribbler. Felix Mutati down, Nevers Mumba down, Edith Nawakwi down, all after dangling the veep carrot and their reputation is tainted. He even extended his schemes to IMF/ WB in Washington lest UPND jumps on Kapwepwe. Of late he was eyeing GBM by instructing Kaisa Sulu to tell GBM that EL wants to work with him.
No brother Mumba, brother Lungu is not being elusive but strategic. Remember he has reliable intelligence dossiers that you have no following or political constituency to add momentum to his stamp.
