UPND Demands Post Be Reopened
Today we reiterate our direct call to President Lungu to demand the Post newspaper is reopened immediately.
The actions taken by President Lungu against the Post can never be justified and demonstrate the broken democratic society he has created.
Instead of trying to talk about policies and how we will improve the lives of the Zambian people, President Lungu’s tactic is simply suppression.
The Post newspaper represented one of the last beacons of democracy in our broken country, and never strayed from holding those in power accountable. Its closure has denied the people of Zambia that right.
Furthermore, the Post is a major employer of people, both directly and indirectly. At a time when Zambia needs to create jobs more than ever President Lungu’s actions once again go against the needs of our country.
This action also sends a terrible signal to the business community and will further put them off investing in our country when that is what we so desperately need to create the jobs.

Step in and liquidate their tax obligation other than just making hollow reckless decrees only undermining your credibility even further. Where in the world would a state tax collecting institution in the shoes of ZRA tolerate tax evasion for over 8 years without moving in? I know HH owns a number of companies and am sure he complies with Tax obligations like a good citizen as the law demands. I also know that HH wants votes, but this is not the way to get them.
