Chiyangi relieved after Nkana victory

Coach Aggrey Chiyangi says Nkana are relieved after Sunday’s 2-1 win over Nkwazi in a Week 18 match played at Nkana Stadium in Wusakile.

The win pushed Kalampa back into second place with 34 points from 18 matches.

In a post-match interview, Chiyangi acknowledged that Nkana were under pressure from supporters.

“This result helps to relieve some pressure on the team. You know Nkana is a big team and people want results. We have to push very hard,” Chiyangi said.

The trainer said he has no problem with the ever-demanding Nkana supporters.

” I am very happy with our supporters. I can understand Nkana supporters have their team at heart. Nkana supporters love football and this makes football at Nkana very interesting,” Chiyangi said.

He added:”Pressure can be there but you have to live in reality. You have to understand where was Nkana last season this time around and where are we now.”

Nkwazi coach Elijah Chikwanda regretted the defeat at Nkana.

“We have lost but Nkana used home-ground advantage. If your saw the second goal they scored it wasn’t a genuine goal but that is part of the game,” Chikwanda said.

“We now want to work hard and win the next match.”

Nkana beat Nkwazi 2-1 in the first round match played in Lusaka on day one of the campaign.
