The Presidential petition against the re-election of President Edgar Lungu continues tomorrow.
The lawyers representing the Patriotic Front and United Party for National Development left the court premises after being engaged for more than two hours in the chambers.
Lawyers engaged by journalists after the court session declined to comment on the proceedings which are scheduled to proceed tomorrow.
However, PF Lawyer Sakwiba Sikota, assured journalists that the case will proceed tomorrow.
President-elect Edgar Chagwa Lungu is being represented by Eric Silwamba and company, Bonaventure Mutale, Professor Patrick Mvunga and Sakwiba Sikota of central chambers.

Sakwiba seems to be an expert in Presidential petitions having represented Mazoka in 2001 election petition against Mwanawasa. Also Silwamba and Malambo both represented Chiluba in that high profile parentage case where Chiluba was dragged to court for allegedly having a Congolese father. But did any of those lawyers win anything?
Yes, they earned hefty legal fees just like the way they will after Horny Harlot and Great Bag of Manure lose their case
Holding proceedings in the dark leaves it to the imagination to know how they are faring. They could all be performing brilliantly or all actually looking like unprepared interns.
Tomorrow should be the first glimmer of light, if they make a key decision concerning who holds the reins while we wait.
Even after the petition,ECL will still be HH’s president.

Actually, we know that the issue of the court taking custody of election materials has been adjourned to Wed at 14:30. The issue of UPND amending their main petition will be argued in court tomorrow at 08:30. I foresee this case being constitutionally time-barred because they can’t finish by Thursday evening – by which it should have been concluded. ECL will likely be inaugurated on Friday 09/09/2016.
The lawyers engaged declined to comment…Yep, sometimes discretion is the better part of valor. But don’t keep us in the dark for too long….because not to know is bad, not to wish to know is worse!

I will not accept results if I lose. Did HH knew before hand that elections will be rigged? How possible is that 37000 voters can finish voting earlier than constituency with 5000 voters.? Didnt the violence in southern disadvantage the performance of other parties? It is a wait and see situation. The Goncourt should quickly finish because our leaders will start going to ICC

It was great fun watching 7 provinces erupt into a frenzy of wild celebrations when ECL was declared winner a fortnight ago. I guess PART II will be even bigger next week.
The sad part this court case is that UPND is not thinking of the country and the time they are wasting I just hope and pray they UPND lose with costs. Enough of this rubbishy
