ZESCO United has announced that Head Coach George Lwandamina this morning tendered in his resignation from his position with immediate effect.

In a statement, ZESCO CEO Justin Mumba and Media Officer Katebe Chengo said the club has since accepted his resignation and would like to thank Lwandamina for the work and contribution during his stay.

Lwandamina joined the club in 2014 and has won two league titles, one Barclay’s cup, Charity Shield and guided the club to the 2016 edition of the CAF champion’s league semi-finals.

The club would also like to announce that Assistant Coach Tenant Chembo has been appoint as acting Head Coach until the end of the season.

“We would wish Lwandamina success in his new journey,” the statement read.

  1. Presidents like Jacob Zuma, BOB Mugabe, Chagwa Lungu, Dos Santos, Bongo, Kabila and museveni just to name a few, could also resign in the near future. there are a lot of people out there who can perform better than folks.

    • You are a waste of sperms, it was best if your mother had aborted you. What has this got to do with politics. You will drown or suffocate in your own hate for Lungu. His being president for a year is like he has been their for over 30 years because you hate him. You will continue in anguish and agonizing because he will be there
      till 2026.

  2. Good decision, better to leave once you see that the fortunes are eluding you…never wait to be fired. Football is full of ups and downs, you cannot dominate through and through. You have done a lot for ZESCO, please move on ….all the best.
