Zambia on Wednesday afternoon begins the 2016 Cosafa Under-20 Championship campaign in South Africa with a tricky tie against Zimbabwe at Moruleng Stadium.
This Group B match kicks off at 16h30.
The Junior Chipolopolo are using this championship to prepare for next year’s CAF Under-20 Tournament which Zambia is hosting.
Zambian players have been declared ready for the match against the Zambezi neigbours by coach Bestone Chambeshi.
“I think the boys are ready for the game. We are looking forward to getting maximum points in the first game,” Chambeshi said.
Zambia will also tackle Malawi in Group B on December 11.
Zambia last won the Cosafa Under-20 Championship in 2011.
Meanwhile, Swaziland faces Botswana with hosts South Africa playing against Lesotho in other opening games on Wednesday.
Did you do any preparatory matches to assess them? Who did you play with to see how ready they are! This is what fools Zambian football. You say you are ready when there was no friendlies, serious friendlies for that and you expect to do miracles. I am not sure how our coaches and administrators prepare their boys for games. Administrators, know that you can not prepare for a big tournament without proper friendlies! Be serious!
Please ensure all players are of age, & no pensioners are included, as you will be exposed & disqualified.
You are not dealing with Chulu, & Isaac’s E.C.Z here.
Just a waste of time and resources. Zambian teams keep on losing.
They included 1 over age player from NAPSA.use him at your peril
What channel can we watch the game?
