President Edgar Lungu says the country is calm and that all government structures are functioning properly.

The Head of State says there is no political tension in the country and that political parties have a platform to resolve their political differences if they arise.

President Lungu says Zambia Centre for Interparty Dialogue -ZCID- is mandated to resolve political differences among political parties.

The President said this shortly before departure for Equatorial Guinea where he has gone to attend a two-day Committee of Ten Summit.

The Committee of Ten is a group of states that has been pushing for Africa’s permanent seat on the UN-security Council.

And President Lungu has maintained that he has an open door policy and he is open to any productive discussion that will benefit the country.

He has further called on stakeholders to openly advise the PF government where they think it is NOT doing the right things.

  1. Zambians, what went wrong …
It’s true, Zambia I’d terrible calm and boring to extent of snowing. Edgar will bore people to death.

    • People are not calm they are scared and miserable. They are scared of police wearing riot gear for the first time in Zambian history. People are afraid to be clobbered mercilessly than calm!

    • Even Yayah Jammeh who is now hiding where you have gone, the land of kleptomaniacs, used to think his country was calm until he was sorted out. By the way don’t forget to greet Jahmeh for me. Have a nice time.

  2. But when UPND apply to hold a rally, the reply from Police is that the political situation is —””””. ………. Which is which?

  3. Mad president nichofunta icho Kiki Kiki. Even a foetus in belly knows that things are bad

  4. The self-mae thug is out dreaming that things are okay in the country just because his goons are busy intimidating democracy loving citizens. Strealing does not lead to a happy ending. Ukalila iwe ka Lungu. Wanya!

  5. Well said, Mr. President. We are working hard so we can contribute to national development, sir!!! It seems the donkeys have already gone into their usual fits of insults and are seething with hate. They are hallucinating that the country is on fire so that that tonga bu.f.f.oon can be ushered into state house. I hope those fake prayers the donkeys had with the b.u.f.foon’s wife at the catholic church will help them come out their fits of hate and bitterness and realise that hh was just rejected by majority Zambians and nothing was stolen from him. May the Lord continue blessing you with good health and wisdom, so you continue to lead us. May God bless Zambia, Amen.

  6. Wishful thinking by this hypocrite of a President. The Leader of the Official Opposition is in Jail on a very serious Treason Charge and Lungu wants to pretend that all is well. This man is a joke of a President. He even wants money from IMF to finance his repression of his opponents and keep HH in Jail. This man lives on another Planet.

    • Maybe if he just spent some time in Zambia instead of flying here, there and everywhere all the time he might see Zambia is at BOILING POINT!

This so called President is so busy being an international TOURIST at Zambian taxpayers expense instead of doing the job he is being paid for, he has lost touch with reality!

One day he will come back to Zambia and find he is not President, and there are people waiting at the airport to lock HIM up for TREASON!!

  7. Just accept instead of pretending that things are okay. What did we do to deserve this kind of misfortune? Is Zambia devoid of right thinking people who can take up the mantle of leadership? This President is a disaster and his ending will be terrible.Chiluba thought he was a small god look at his ending, it was terrible.

  8. @Mwansa alas Hamwansa:its actually you who live on planet Pluto.President Edgar Lungu is very correct on this one.Zambia is very calm currently minus GBM& HH in society.
Any wise Judge must take note of our current peace.before HH’s Mongu scandal, political tention was very high due to HH’s daily ranting on FAKE PETITION!!But since the arrest of HH and GBM ran into exile,Zambia has become a better place to live in!!
President Edgar Lungu must retire magitrate Malumani in National interest forthwith because the words he was using in his judgement were very political.he clearly showed that he is a upnd supporter.he wasnt neutral at all!!
THE FACT IS ZAMBIA IS A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE IN WHEN BITTER POLITICIANS ARE BEHIND BARS!!

    • @ Njimbu: Your insatiable hatred for UPND and HH is not taking Zambia anywhere. Whether HH remains in jail up to 2021 or not, how will HH’s imprisonment benefit us the poor and jobless who are in the majority? According to you, with or without tangible evidence Magistrate Malumani should have punished HH! Don’t worry, one day, PF will be in opposition just like UNIP and MMD, some of these things will backfire.

  9. Half the country is at the airport every other week to see off Lungu on his frequent sojourns. What a waste of resources!

  10. The god fearing disaster president thinks everything is calm because of the various human sacrifices HH talked about. God will deal with him soon.

    • So you acknowledge he is PRESIDENT! If only HH had condemned the violence in Namwala then some of us would have had sympathy for him and if he had at least one convention in the past ten years to prove his democratic credentials.

    • Your call for him to condemn violence in namwala would have been genuine if you had asked him to condemn violence in petauke(remember how max chongu was hammered to pulp by the opposing pf camp), what about the violence in Lusaka and the copperbelt(remember those pf cadres who attacked moba hotel and upnd offices in kitwe and the secretariat in Lusaka, why don’t you ask to condemn the violence in the country that characterized the 2016 elections, which am 100% he condemned, all you want is for him to single out the stage managed namwala saga.

  11. PF is cracking slowly with a bigger number saying UMUNGONI aya sana and you all know PF is BEMBA. the cost of living is high but getting higher, the cost of driving between towns becoming expensive, Mutati is busy thinking and amassing cash for MMD so that he stands as president in 2021 and slowly but surely people are looking to KAMBWILI for president(and this is significant). The political undercurrent is strong mwandini. FDD is also stronger now after its president was disappointed thinking she was going to be minister of finance. Father Bwalya and Mumbi Phiri mukashala mweka ukulabosa bosa bosa. Mukalufyanya mukalande napa muntu wesu…nshamulumbule ishina.

  12. Mr. President, you don’t need to praise yourself that the country is calm and all govt. institutions are running smoothly when only yesterday one of your cohorts announced a wage until things stabilize. For your own information, a good leader does not need to praise hm/herself for being a good leader. This is just a false calm waiting to explode. Just wait and see what awaits you.
