AFRIKA: THE OTHER SIDE OF THE COIN.

Hired Intelligentsia And Their Well-Paid Think Tanks Target South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe For Regime Change.

The recent deportation of one of South Africa’s political opposition leaders, Mmusi Maimane of the Democratic Alliance (DA) from Lusaka’s ‘Kenneth Kaunda International Airport’ made headlines in South Africa and Zambia, as well as on the African continent. Maimane and his delegation flew to Lusaka in order to show his political party’s allegiance with Zambia’s opposition leader, Hakainde Hichilema from the UPND, who currently serves his term in prison for serious treason charges.

The aforementioned is similar to the blatant disrespect for the sovereignty of Zimbabwe, when the then Secretary General of the Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU), Zwelinzima Vavi, and his delegation traveled there to publicly side with their counterpart, ZCTU, and its MDC-T under Morgan Tsvangirai. Vavi and his Zimbabwean friends wanted to publicly denounce President Robert Mugabe and his ZANU-PF led government.

Zwelinzima Vavi also traveled to Swaziland to join forces there with the local trade union movement and its call for King Mswati III to be dethroned. His Majesty had Vavi and his COSATU leadership promptly evicted.

During colonial-apartheid and the “cold war”, South Africa waged war in southern Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe and beyond.

During the CODESA negotiations it came to light that colonial-apartheid South Africa was used as an executioner for the international West and its interests in the geo-strategic Cape Sea Route, its minerals and wealth.

The guidance of the apartheid regime and later of a “new, democratic” South African Afropessimistic opposition took the form of an NGO- and Foundation industry, always well funded, well networked and very busy, undermining the state.

The aforementioned show a clear history of aggression, arrogance and destabilisation in order to get ownership of the economies of and control over the SADC region.

South Africa’s opposition DA leader, Maimane, “was turned away from Zambia, as his presence was going to undermine the sanctity, integrity and independence of the Judiciary. DA Maimane’s presence was going to undermine the integrity of Zambia’s judiciary”, a statement from Zambia’s High Commission in Pretoria explained.

The statement also publicized that DA Maimane and his team had visited the Zambian High Commission after their return from Lusaka. He was obviously frustrated.

Zambia’s First Secretary, Press and Public Relations, Madam Naomi Nyawali, stated, “We also took time to alert him to our concerns regarding his media statement that stated that he was going to pressure our Courts of Law to release Mr. Hichilema. We took time to discuss all matters and our entire meeting was fruitful.” It seemed all diplomatic.

Zambia’s High Commissioner to Pretoria, Mwamba, was at pains explaining, how close the working relationship between Zambia and South Africa is. “Zambia is in the top ten of South Africa’s trading partners.”

There seems to be an interest in Zambia however, a mining interest. Zambia has huge copper deposits. It seemed reasonable for Jonathan Oppenheimer to visit Lusaka and the copper region repeatedly before the last national elections and thereafter. It seemed more reasonable to make Anglo’s interest clear to the head-of-state, Edgar Lungu, at the same time, favoring the opposition leader, Hakainde Hichilema. And now this … a provocative leader of the opposition being charged for treason for having endangered

An NGO and Foundation industry with sizeable budgets and its hooligan armchair academia continuously work on a never-ending drive of interfering into matters of sovereign neighbours to retain control and influence.

Think tanks such as the Brenthurst Foundation, Helen Suzman Foundation, Freedom Under Law, US-George Soros’s “Southern African Litigation Center” (SALC) and a host of others have a so-called intelligentsia on their boards. Those include Dr. Ann Bernstein; Professors Mathew Nel and Christo Nel at the University of Stellenbosch; Professor Mark Swilling from the Centre for Complex Systems in transition at the University of Stellenbosch; Prof. Ivor Chipkin at the Public Affairs Research Institute (PARI) at the University of the Witwatersrand; Dr. Mbongiseni Buthelezi from Public Affairs Research Institute at the University of the Witwatersrand; Prof. Haroon Bhorat from the Development Policy Research Unit at the University of Cape Town; Numkile Mondi from the Department of Economics at the University of the Witwatersrand. There are a few more. Their names grace many boards in and appear on many letterheads in South Africa.

Here is the risk. This intelligentsia says all the right things for the wrong reasons, attempting to confuse leadership. They are not there to help South Africa, or Zambia. The only intention is not to assist achieving a better country, but to open the doors for looting by their masters. By executing the aforementioned, they actually neutralize leadership, leaving them like rabbits in front of the bright lights of an oncoming car. Leadership finds itself in a position, where they are damned when they defend themselves, and are damned, when they don’t.

It has become quite clear that the matter of a regime change is imminent. At the heart of this problem is an inept group of people who will pay the ultimate price of being destroyed in one way, or another. It seems that Afropessimistic character assassination is first choice to get rid of a head-of-state and his inner circle.

It is important that the indigenous Africans learn and understand history and the lies behind the economic and financial systems with humility where they admit, that they have deliberately been deceived and misinformed by a skewed economic education system. Therefore, they will never see an economic freedom.

All of the above has nothing to do with “democracy”, an empty term, which is purely used to hide behind and plunder.

  1. Utter garbage. The Chinese and Indians were let to buy Zambian copper mines at toilet paper prices, why on earth would a diamond cartel want in Zambia ?

    This is just trash to arose the kaponyas. Zambia and much of southern Africa are of no strategic interest to the west. There is no oil. The copper and other mineral found here are abound around the globe and much cheaper production costs.
    You would have to pay the openhimiers to come and piss in Zambia.

    Zambia is nothing but a drain on the western aid funds for which with out it can not survive.

    • @spaka like lilo! well said. This “meno meno ” in state house is only interested in lining his pocket. he knows even if sanctions were to be imposed on Zambia he will still drink his jamason everyday and his family will eat everyday. westerners don’t need us we need them more imwee baf1kala. we need south africa more than they need us imwee ba kolwe. just check in malls that you have around, 98% of stuff sold comes from SA and then meno meno stands up with an appointment card from morningside hospital in his pocket and say we are a sovereign state. what an id1ot.

    • “Think tanks such as the Brenthurst Foundation, Helen Suzman Foundation, Freedom Under Law, US-George Soros’s “Southern African Litigation Center” (SALC) and a host of others have a so-called intelligentsia on their boards. ……. THESE ARE THE FRIENDS OF HH AND UPND AND MMAIMANE THE STOOGE.
      I REST MY CASE

    • Read/Google “Confessions Of An Economic Hit Man” ………it will help a lot in understanding this article.

    • What a dull and shallow article. The author must go back to school. The fact is Lungu has no proper creditibility compared to Mugabe that led his country to independence. The same was for KK and why Zambians kept him in power for almost 3 decades. The truth is those elections were manipulated and why isn’t this author giving names of Lungu’s financial suppliers? Who have kept him at ransom and are robbing the country in broad daylight. Let him provide a list of all individuals that gave PF money and let’s see if these are well meaning individuals that have Zambia at heart. Lungu is an embarrassment and all this is is embarrassing

    • Sorry, the webpage is not even secure. My antivirus has blocked it as a very unsecure page with 76% chances of phishing.
      Immanuel Mwamba and his friends

    • The drunk ECL surprised many when he joined the likes of Mugabe and Museveni when he told KK that he is aware of some past colonialist who are regrouping to take over Africa….My foot….EC is too young to join the Colonial Hangover Problem!!

    • THIS WRITER IS USELESS ANYWAY.

      BUT FACT STILL REMAINS A MAN OF HONOR, DUTY AND PATRIOTISM.

      UNCOMMON MAN WITH UNCOMMON DESIRES TO SUCCEED.

      HH THE PEOPLE PERSON. REMEMBER MY BROTHER YOU DID LOSE ERECTIONS BY MUCH,SO IF WE WERE TO FIGHT ABA BAFIKALA IT CAN BE ONLY THE STRONGEST THATS SURVIVES.

      UPND AND HH FOR LIFE….IAM OUT

    • Well said,
      You succinctly hit the nail on the head.
      Zambia is more of a liability….than an asset!
      Dr Mushota Chimfwembe will think otherwise…IT’S A REFLECTION OF HER MINUSCULE AND ADDLED BRAIN

    • Truth be told, the Author is absolutely on point. A new scramble for Africa has been hatched but this time using cheap psychology to cause confusion. We all know how HH just like Tsivangarai of Zimbabwe is being used to get the natural resources of this country. During the last elections HH was heavily sponsored by these morons and they were so sure that all would work in their favour but alas they lost. So what next? Cause confusion and create some turmoil. HH thought this country would be on fire but as usual Zambians are not dull. They have all gone about doing business as usual to the disappointment of HH and his sponsors. In Zambia twenda nalesa. No weapons fashioned against us shall prosper

    • These are remnants of the colonial fight. Their battle cry is “How Europe underdeveloped Africa”, 60 years after independence. Their descendants will still be singing the same song even 1,000 years after independence. You never hear this type of stoopidity from Singaporeans and North Koreans. This only comes from Africans, and their sympathisers, who want to get handouts out of the West through blackmail over colonialism.

  2. The PF government has squandered the eurobond. Now they are targeting the IMF bailout.The common Zambian people have already started paying for the poor management of resources by PF. Now PF wants to shift our attention from their failures by pointing to imaginary would be colonial masters.If you, PF, guys have any hearts all, you should have started resigning one after another.And if you think Zambians will vote for you in 2021 ask RB.

    • Good points. Our leaders take no responsibility at all. Africans continue inflicting pain on themselves while blaming others. How long are we going to continue blaming others for our own failures while preaching sovereignty?

  3. We know where this propaganda is coming from, they want to blind fold the Zambians so to hide from the crimes against humanity they are committing, we will not allow them.

  4. AFRICANS ARE ALWAYS ADAMANT IN UNDERSTANDING THEIR COMMON ENEMY. AS LONG AS THE LITTLE MONEY IS FLOWING INTO THEIR POCKETS THEY WILL DO ANYTHING TO DESTROY THEIR COUNTRIES AND THEMSELVES. NO WESTERN IMPERIALIST IS INTERESTED IN DEVELOPING AFRICA. THEIR INTEREST IS TO PUSH CHINA FROM AFRICA WHICH THEY REGRET HAVING LET CHINA INTO AFRICA. THE LIKES OF HH AND MAIMANE WILL BE USED IN THE MANNER DESCRIBED ABOVE. ESPECIALLY, ZAMBIANS SHOULD BE ASKING THEMSELVES: HOW COME THE SO CALLED DEMOCRACY PROMOTERS CAN SUPPORT HH ON HIS WAY TO STATE HOUSE WHEN HIS WEALTH IS HIGHLY QUESTIONABLE. HH HAS NEVER ANSWERED ANY QUESTIONS CONCERNING HIS WEALTH BUT IN THE WEST THEY MAKE SURE THAT ANY PUBLIC FIGURE DECLARES THEIR WEALTH AND SOURCE? AFRICA MUST UNITE WITH CHINA IN ALL ASPECTS OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT.

    • you are ignorant of current affaires. why would the west want to push china out when they know they control the global economy ? much any minerals in Zambia are plenty around the world at much cheaper production costs…
      End of capacity to honour debt is almost there for Zambia with the wealth we have, considering the needs of the population and how much we owe already…..the east will not give Zambia any more money.

      and why is HH not arrested for his questionable wealth ? and why was lungu , a fraud convict left to rule Zambia if the west had any interest in zambias affaires or running ?

  5. this is the same Garbage from sunday chanda that has been appearing with different headings……

  6. Typical propaganda from evil dictatorship regimes. It is not hired, it is we the people who want change. Please for a change take a walk around your local areas and ask people if they are happy with how things are going. it will really open your minds. Ask MMD how easy it is to live in a utopia where you believe you are still popular and loved only to be kicked out. The same will soon happen to PF. Meanwhile we thank lungu for putting a bad omen on the zambia football team! I warned you all that his remarks would be a curse. look now mwa loozer! are you now going to blame me for telling you the truth kikiki

  7. Voetsek! AngloAmerican walked away from KCM in 2001 and even paid your GRZ for walking away/Copperbelt Trust Fund 200m usd.And your LPM sold KCM to the Indian for 25m yet KCM had 60m in the bank. The West does not thrive on copper, coal or iron. China is your new colonialist. Use your tompwe. Shaa!

  8. The article makes interesting reading. The issue really is not whether regime change in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Zambia is needed or not. That is for voters to decide. What is critical is for the intellectuals to stand firm in defending right good policies, laws and practices. It is counter-productive for intellectuals to criticize one regime without stating the policy issue that is in question. Let us start by examining one recent case of entry refusal. By any standards, refusal of entry is both objective and subjective. What a foreign government says about visa applications must be accepted. If you reject what a foreign government is telling you, then you are raising the wrong question to the wrong audience. Automatic entry is only guaranteed in the country of citizenship.

    • Unless we acknowledge that we have problems in Zambia, we will never solve any of our problems.
      Let us look at the following problems and work towards solving them :
      1. Undermining of Democracy by the Zambian intelligence /OP;
      2.Political Assassinations;
      3.Torture, Impunity, and Gross Human Rights Violations;
      4. Use of Radiological, Biological,and Chemical weapons in Zambia;
      5.Recruitment, Radicalization and use of Children in spying and criminal activities;
      6.Use of Planned Air and Road Traffic Accidents by OP;
      7. Unethical and disproportionate Human, Air and Electronic surveillance;etc

  9. The judiciary never turned the opposition leader from South Africa away.They never felt their sanctity, integrity and independence will be undermined. Did they complain? Did they say that it would be unable to execute its job like in every true democratic state ? It was the executive who has a hold over the judiciary, that felt its sanctity, integrity and independence would be undermined.
    Stop using the colonial card this is 2017 and not 1964. Move on! and deal with the real issues that affect the citizens of this good country.What a shame, shows that after all this time of independence we are unable to run the country in a true and democratic way. You seem to have it for the colonialists but forgetting china who has well and truly colonised the country in 2017. Better to forget about…

  10. no matter the propaganda, pf has messed up things and caused pain not only to the upnd and its leader but the world at large . see how foolish the leadership is. using the brutality of police will not save the situation but worsen it. finally will see you go. there its is you are now scared of your zambia army very soon it will be you intelligence and finally start running away on you own. do not take god s people for granted.

  11. What a dull and shallow article.

  12. The magnacata is clearly written on the wall. This Lungu misfit has reached breaking point. I hear he was telling donors to take their aid if they so wish just because of HH. Be reminded that HH is not a kapoya that you can play with like Mumbi Phiri. Soon and very soon you will blacklisted and sanctions imposed on you for your recklessness and wanton disregard of laws and the constitution. Now that the whole world has their periscope on PF thugs, they are breathing fire and their so called director of trash is spoiling everything without recourse.

  13. Fellow Pan Africanists & Nationalists, open your eyes & ears wide to see the clandestine Neo Colonialism movement underway in most Africa Mineral rich Nations.

    It is real!

    Political Leaders like Morgan Tsvangirai, Mmusi Maimane, Hakainde Hichilema etc are just a few frontiers of this Neo Colonialism movement on the African Continent.

  14. This publication is a pure lie! The aim is to instil fear in us the citizens so that we choose to remain with the oppressive leaders rather than looking forward to a regime change in the mentioned countries. Truth is that there is dictatotship in Zambia just like it is in Zimbabwe and Uganda. These dictators and oppressors should park and go
    .They have made our lives miserable.

  15. It seems opposition political parties in South Africa are too good to sorting out political issues in other countries than theirs! That is uncalled for! They have failed to sort out a lot of political pending issues in their country and just continue gallivanting in other sovereign states! It is clear that opposition political parties in South Africa are seen to work in affairs of other countries! Can they be educated that political issues in Zambia are for Zambians NOT ANY OTHER!!!!!!!??????

  16. Fck you Mr Udo W. Froese, – Author of this article!! You are a heap of SH.IT! Your article is the most shallow minded, misguided and misleading I have ever seen in decades – gone are the days of fake nationalists like you Ar.sewhore!! For once stop hallucinating and STOP blaming other people or so called colonialists when it is the Africans who are ruling us badly. Think of it: 1. it is NOT colonialists that conducted flawed elections that saw deaths of innocent Mapanenzi and others; 2. It is NOT colonialists that told Lungu to rig the elections and stop courts from hearing the petition leaving the entire country divided; 3. It is NOT colonialists that borrowed Euro bonds and stole the money leaving Zambia broke as it is now; 4. It is NOT colonialists that hiked electricity prices by 75%…

    • contd…
      …75% forcing the entire nation into poverty; 5. It is NOT colonialists that hiked tuition fees at UNZA removed meal allowances from poor students, etc. So why DO you want to blame colonialists when it is Lungu who is stealing and making very bad decisions for our country?

  17. Meanwhile the Zambian government has embarked on a ploy to punish the Zambian people by imposing numerous forms of tax on us. The aim by this government is to make our lives more miserable. There is absolutely no value addition on people’s quality of lives by government. This government is a tax regime type of governments. Their interest is to make more money for themselves thru punishing us the citizens. CHANGE IS WHAT WE NEED IN ZAMBIA. LET US ALL JOIN HANDS AND FIGHT FOR CHANGE OF LEADERSHIP IN ZAMBIA OUR COUNTRY.

    • Victims of Torture and concerned people in Zambia want , not ordinary change, but immediate irreversible change.

  18. What a lie. No connection.
    Is COSATU or ZCTU a political party?

    Surely, can a normal person who is not heavily drunck with political dictatorship, support Zimbabwe’s dictatorship regime?

    Zuma is a hero bcoz he believes in democracy and human rights. You can’t compare Zambia and Zimbabwe with South Africa.

    LISTEN FELLOW ZAMBIANS. WE ARE GOING A WRONG WAY. THE EARLIER WE REALIZE THIS COMRADES THE BETTER.
    THIS EVIL PRIDE AND ARROGANCE IS KILLING ZAMBIA.

    This article is nothing but a low thinking attempt to sway away the shame Zambia is currently deeper in bcoz of the deportation of South African leader

    WHAT IF SOUTH AFRICANS SEE THIS AS XENOPHOBIC ATTACK? WILL WE BE ABLE TO PROTECT OUR RELATIVES IN SOUTH AFRICA?

    WHAT IF MAIMANE BECOMES PRESIDENT OF SOUTH AFRICA, WHAT…

  19. Zambia is in mess and PF. The president can even give an interview in a drunken state and no talks about it.The president fires one minister and says there are two more ministers that are corrupt but doens’t do anything about them. Kaiza Zulu embarrasses the whole country during AFCON U20 but nothing happens.Dora commits one scandal after another the president is still quiet. This is unacceptable.Its shame the country in the hands of a self confessed visionless president. Lungu must go.Pf should follow suit.

  20. Nothing will ever change no matter who comes to power.its high time you political people realised that.its only the governance of the one who made heaven and earth that things will change in the world…

  21. This article is hollow and does not show connections between assumed significant facts.
    It does even demonstrate any full grasp of economic history of the region…

  22. i can see most people making the commets are not zambian.BUT its ok,go ahead and make your point.Tale time and reflect over the article.i live in europa like the most you.Am active in politics and know from which angle we discuss africa.Its not all lies,but yiou know that.

  23. This article is based on deceit and manipulation. Without anybody from anywhere telling me anything, I know for a fact that PF has messed up our country! Period! Go to any compound near you anywhere in Zambia and you will see the mess for yourself! Without a doubt MMD was better. The only problem was that MMD was very corrupt. But PF is even worse!

  24. He is a hired thug to write such garbage. Regime change is already determined by Zambian voters in 2021 because Lungu has been found wanting by the Zambians

  25. Anything that exposes the upnd’s leaders’ shady dealings and explains the recent behavior of the opposition is rubbish to the upnd supporters. Really sad, donkeys failing to accept facts and choosing to live in their fake reality where they can do no wrong and PF is the evil entity that is oppressing Zambians. Pathetic creatures, these donkeys!!!

  26. Udo’s article is baseless & wishful thinking. Surely to malign pipo like Prof. Mark Swilling. How l wished you were privileged to be lecturered by the likes of Prof. Swilling, Prof. Hofmeyer his compatriot late Prof. Cilliers gurus of Complexity Sciences, if you understood the field you could not have called them “Hired.” For your information it is Africans who have failed Africa. Especially Afro-imperialist. All Complexity Science does is to hit the nail on the head!

  27. Apparently it’s ‘sovereignty’ only when it comes to issues of democracy and human rights, but it is not when it comes to issues of EURO Bonds, IMF and donor aid. What kind of double standards is this?

    To think the likes of Mugabe, Lungu are there for the interest of their countries is total madness.

    Even if what’s in this article was true, I would rather I aligned myself with the people accused in this article than the likes of Mugabe and Lungu.

    For the record, the Chinese are the new colonialists, with the only difference being they don’t care about governance issues like human rights and rule of law. They just bribe the corrupt leadership in exchange for resources.

    • I just wonder if I will live to see the ahaa moment in Africa, when Africans will develop their land and make a positive difference on earth. Look at Mobutu, Kabila, Obiang, Mugabe, Museveni, Zuma and try to ask yourself why? The problem seems to be clear at least to me , the next step is to try and solve it together. I’m still hopeful that It will happen.

  28. The plus for Zambia is that the electorate did their best and elected the best candidate under the sun (Zambia) among a host of the so called political leaders. It is a question of bread and butter. Those who have more want more. The rich men living in the periphery of Zambia want to come in through compromised leaders such as HH in Zambia and now through Maimane in South Africa, how else can you explain the narrative that ECL is a dictator?? my word and the world listens?? this can only come from a cartel with a certain skewed intention if not for the love to control the resources of our great nation. They say they are democrats but listen to how the democrats shout even when they are using a mic with high amplification!!! Very sad indeed.

  29. WHAT A LOAD OF NONSENE – I SAW THE ANC GENERATED REPORT AND ZAMBIA’S NAME WAS NOT MENTIONED IN IT – HOW CAN YOU BLATANTLY LIE !

  30. Foreigners Try to Fix Zambian Elections to Install Hichilema

    Evans Mulenga | November 19, 2014

    | 113

    A group of wealthy South African mining interests and an arms dealer have been secretly aiming to exert their influence to fix the upcoming presidential by-election in Zambia, according to an article published this week in African Confidential.

    The article, entitled “Foreign boost for opposition,” highlights an alleged conspiracy hatched by Brenthurst Foundation – an institution backed by the multi-billionaire Oppenheimer mining family dynasty to organise the installation of Hakainde Hichilema of the United Party of National Development (UPND) as the next president.

    These South African mining interests were apparently motivated to undertake this scheme…
