World Bank officials call on Zambeef

Share

A delegation from the World Bank and International Finance Corporation (IFC) paid a visit Zambeef’s Ten-Miles Macro Outlet and Lusaka processing outlet on Friday (July 28) as part of the organisation’s wider tour of development projects and investments in the country.
Expansion of Zambeef’s Novatek stockfeed division with the addition of a new processing plant in Mpongwe have been undertaken with support from IFC. The investment will generate additional capacity that will facilitate the continued growth of sales of Novatek stockfeed and Zamhatch day-old chicks to the local market as well as the export of surplus feed.
In addition to the stockfeed plant, Zambeef continues to make significant investments in the country, having injected US$16.5 million in capital expenditure in 2016 alone.
The company expects to spend a further US$21 million this year in investment in several high-return parts of the business, including growing its retail network, expansion of its dairy operations and Zamhatch hatchery as well as its operations at Masterpork.
Zambeef aims to be the most accessible and affordable food processor and retailer in the Central African region, delivered through the Group’s extensive retail and distribution network.

  2. Zambeef is one culprit who was busy importing POISONED matumbo, kafulusasa etc., to feed on our vulnerable and unsuspecting Zedians. Sadly, Zambeef went untouched nor punished. Today this same company is even being encouraged to do even more damage by no other than the so-called World bank. Wait till I come back; mwanya….

    • nkope shinyenga,

Ignorance is the bane that will destroy this country! Zambeef never imported “POISONED matumbo, kafulusasa etc.” Sadly, most Zambians fell for this lie which was maliciously propagated in order to destroy Zambeef. Gullible Zambians bought the lie that the imported kafusasa was preserved with embalming fluid! In scientific parlance, embalming fluid is known as formaldehyde. Because of Zambians’ ignorance, poor reading and research culture, they swallowed this propaganda, line, hook, and sinker in the mistaken belief that formaldehyde was the same thing as aromatic aldehyde! What they never bothered to find out was that Zambeef was using aromatic aldehyde – a flavoring and preserving agent – an almond extract – used to flavor cakes and other baked goods you all enjoy!

  3. Zambeef were importing or may be still importing cattle from Namibia instead of buying from local farmers !
They charge high prices for there meat in supermarkets and pay the farmers’ peanuts for there cattle.
They are a monopoly and don’t allow for smaller operators to have a place in the market !
#Mushota – go and get an education – of course you don’t send e-mails about such important issues !

  4. Mushota please go to the hospital to seek medication for this perpetual mental ERECTION of yours, it’s even stinking like fish here now because of your p.ussy oozing shoot from your fimo fimo! Sometimes one wonders how god could endowed one person with such an incredible wealth of gutless stu.pidity!

  5. @Njangwamuloty, is it very painful in your heart? You are a product of Dog Watchers in Zambia (Your tribal online paper) that is why you hate the President so much! But remember, “he” will never be President in Zambia! I mean the guy who became rich overnight after privatization! He can sell Zambia. You guys and your party are very dangerous for the country! Just read the mindset here! He will never and with this behavior, I doubt if anyone from Namwala can be trusted by the nation!

  7. @Sharon,
What has what I said got anything to do with UPND? You know, it is this cantankerous kind of mental behavior wholly devoid of any length of sustained logical reasoning that is killing this country. By any standards, globally, Lungu is “yellow”, he is bereft of any intellectual capability. From your toilet posturing, you’re surely “wa kumawa”, please field the likes of Rodger Chongwe, late mwana wa kwitu Christon Tembo etc and not this Mozambican excrement called Lungu. He is an insult to all Zambians, more so Nyanjas! By the way Sharon, you are Mushota, how is your perpetual ERECTION?

  8. In most other democratic nations this type of corporate investment would be considered a monopoly of the market economy and would have to go through an audit before going ahead. This type of investment is going to destroy other local/ national businesses creating a domino effect where there will be loss of jobs. Statistically each employee sustains an average of 5 family members. Consider the bigger picture. And what do we know how Zambeef grow and feed their livestock? The USA pump their meat with too much hormones to increase mass hence being blocked from trading in the EU. South East Asians have and are known to use arsenic in poultry to reduce the culling date and increase water mass so they get paid more for the dead weight. Start questioning so we can have a safer nation.

  9. Pipo let us argue like Cherryl. Not bringing issues of presidency on serious matters that affect lives of many people irrespective of who is in the driving sit. Are you still doubting who leads who or who has power? Get down to think and work dear brothers.
