Opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema and his Vice President Geoffrey Bwalya on Wednesday visited veteran politician Daniel Munkombwe who is hospitalized in UTH.
Mr Hichilema said they also strengthened the brothers and sisters who are admitted at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) in Lusaka.
“We also learnt that our senior citizen, Mr. Daniel Munkombwe is unwell and admitted at the same hospital. We visited him and like everyone else who is not feeling too well, we wished him a quick recovery through prayers from the Almighty God,” Mr Hichilema said.
“We also learnt of the difficulties that patients were going through including health workers.”
“Let’s pray for one another as we aim for good health facilities in the country.”
Munkombwe has served under all the President’s in this great country. His sacrifice and service to the nation must be recognized by students of zambian history and local Political Science students.

Where has this despicable amoral culture of sending and requesting the media to publish every picture we take with the sick in hospitals come from? Instead of showing our humanity, negatively the whole theater only humiliates the patient and attests our insensitive motives. Let’s learn to respect and give the patient privacy. One can still pass on the message that madala Munkombwe is seriously sick and helpless hospitalized. Let’s remember and support him. That is more effective and mature than staging every visit for such bad PR. Of the many patients visited why just Munkombwe PR on?

HH is a bad omen. Everyone he visits in hospital dies. He visited Request Muntanga and the following day he was the late. He visited Kunjunga Simusamba and the following day he was late. Run away Munkombwe
How do you just visit people whom you don’t know at random. Hospitals should have more restriction to avoid vermin roaming and spreading bad will!

Well Munkombwe, definitely a divisive figure for those that will be critical in thinking about his political legacy. Well under 5 presidents for me is not an achievement. It’s lacking in principle and belly politics although each of the 5 presidents worked with him for the votes he was able to plough in. Other commentators are saying he should be evacuated for medical treatment for his 5 presidents record. I will reserve my opinion, who am I to? But people have look at my list above, which can be extended to make an opinion on DM.
Why are these two always together, always? It is in presidential. The head and his deputy should not always be, move or travel together
Ethics. Ethics ..Ethics .. I think I will be upset if my grandpa or Uncle for that matter has his pictured splashed across the Internet to just gain political mileage or even just to publicize the visit. Illness is a private matter and patient confidentiality is key.

The saying”A drowning man holds even on to the floating leaf in the hope that it will keep him a float” This describes the desperation in the opposition camp. Agree with you Bootlicker. Indeed ethics have been violated. Hospital authorities must put a stop to this abuse of patients. HH & his vice owe an apology to the Munkombwe family. They can not claim ignorance of the photographs as they are actually posing

Politics follow politicians wherever they go and there is nothing anyone can do about it. As we speak anniversary of SATA’s death is tomorrow and there is politics surrounding that meaning politics have followed him in death. So Shut UP! They take a camera man wherever they go who then cook up stories and throws them to desperate media to publish. Last time they took a photo with a corpse for political show.
We’ve said it that these two can go to any length and depth of political life but still the fact remains that non of will be president. The earlier they accept this fact the better fir them. In Zambia we only change presidency whenever there’s a revolution not simply on general election. Even if it means changing upnd is not an alternative.
Looks like Munkombwe is tired, maybe old age is catching up. Or maybe he’s sick of doing everything by himself.
