Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) President Dr. Nevers Mumba has said that the MMD is back and it means business.
Dr. Mumba who was today’s guest on the Hot Seat program on Hot FM said that Judge Newa’s MMD Leadership Judgement was a landmark.
“On behalf of the MMD Leadership, we would love to thank High Court Judge Sharon Newa for her landmark judgment on the MMD Leadership Impasse. This Impasse which has lasted for the past 3 years was a fight between the MMD Constitution and those who thought the money could buy power. The ruling which lasted for over 5 hours and had over 600 pages clearly stipulated that parties should be governed by there Constitution. We took the case through our National Secretary not because we wanted to defend our leadership but because we wanted to protect our constitution and the future generations that never again will people with money ever buy power using illegal means. Judge Newa’s judgment was a landmark ruling”, Dr. Mumba said.
Dr. Mumba further said that he had always reached out his hand to Mutati.
“I knew Felix when I was Republican Vice President and he was Deputy Minister of Energy. After I won the MMD Presidency in 2012, I had reached out to all the losing candidates including my brother Felix for dinner. He never showed up. We later managed to meet and have dinner at Acacia Park, where I asked him to support and work with me. Shortly afterward, I received a letter from him where he resigned as Leader of the Opposition in Parliament”, Dr. Mumba said.
“This is not his first expulsion but second expulsion from the MMD. The first was in 2014, where he rebelled against the party leadership and supported the opposition UPND during the Presidential by-election. He afterward approached me and said that Mr. President, what I did was wrong and MMD is a party that I belong to, please forgive. I recommended to the National Executive Committee (NEC), and that’s how he was reinstated back into the party. Again in 2016, the National Executive Committee (NEC) decided to expel him and he even contested the expulsion which he lost in the high court. If Mr. Mutati wants to come back to the MMD, he knows what he should do”, Dr. Mumba said.
Dr. Mumba said that like the Labour party, the MMD will bounce back to Power.
“I have heard some people allege that MMD will never bounce back to power. But let me tell you, when I became MMD President in 2012, no one wanted to do anything with the MMD. RB had resigned as Party President, We had 11 of our MPs serving in the PF government as Ministers and a number of members had left our party. To add to those problems, the Registrar of Societies threatened to deregister our party for a bill of $85,000”, Dr. Mumba said.
“Not only did We raise the $85,000, we managed to beat the PF in a number of by-elections that included Mkaika and Muchinga constituencies. By 2014, our party was so attractive that the same people who left our party earlier started to cause confusion. The labour party of the UK after losing power, was in the opposition for a long period of time, up until Tony Blair took over and called it the New Labour Party and won the elections. So like the New Labour Party, the New Hope MMD will bounce back into power”, Dr. Mumba said.
Dr. Mumba said that like the Labour party, the MMD will bounce back to Power.
Point of correction pastor Mumba, this is Africa (TIA) the British or american scenario in Africa is a Pipedream, first and foremost , the British political landscape has ever been dominated by the labor parte and conservative parte , just like in USA where the Democrats and Republicans are the only contenders , therefore the probability of either political partez bouncing to power is always a 100%, but here in Africa once you leave power, 10 more new partez will spring up, the chances of you coming back is nearly zero.
I will still not my Heritage Party for MMD. We will bounce back with force!!

And this because he has some measure of moral virtues lacking in the guy we currently have running the country. And yes I’m aware of the “Canada issue,” but, whatever the truth was, it doesn’t really take away much from the otherwise good and exemplary life that Nevers has led so far. Who doesn’t have a few foibles in their life? Whose life is squeaky clean? Raise your hand. Secondly, he displays a good measure of intelligence and patriotism which is lacking in the guy that’s currently occupying State House. Ba Dr Mumba are you sure you will bounce back. I can advise you to go back to the pulpit and bring back the lost sheep. You are a very good preacher but not a very good presidential material. You have still cases of abuse of office in courts of law. How can people trust you and vote for you when you abused your office when you were an ambassador? It’s not too late God will forgive you for your sins,but not the people. That’s my advise.
You have no power to tell someone what they should do. You do what you chose to do, why cant give other people space to be themselves?

Some names are synonymous with corruption and if you allow them to be associated with your ‘New Hope’ MMD then there’s no hope already. Corruption keeps increasing that’s why PF is failing to have money in the economy. Put up a team that Zambians will have confidence in then probably there can be consideration of MMD again. Create a elders’ council to help you sir e.g. General Miyanda, Mr. Magande etc.

What Zambia needs is a fresh Opposition grouping. The current have proven to be ineffective against the giant PF.
We need a new more capable, opposition.
And when will Political Party leaders in Zambia realise, that a party is NOT a personal property but a tool of demicracy which can be headed by any member of it’s party that has leadership skills and ability to appeal to voters. MMD is not a property of Dr Mumba.

What remained of the MMD is now fully active in PF. RB is the godfather, Namugala is deputy speaker, Felix is hand in hand with ECL, Nakachinda is a nominated mp, the 4 mps report to Felix and Rafa, Dora is fully behind ECL, what is Nevers coming to do??
The ‘hope’ seems about getting into power and that’s all. However, even the newest parties have higher hope compared to MMD. Dr. Mumba should have asserted authority as soon as he was elected by expelling RB as soon as he started undermining the MMD. It is tool late now. MMD has no chance, get this in your head ba Nervous.
Mutati has really troubled Dr. Mumba. He just never wanted to accept him. Instead of crying over spilt milk, he could found another bottle. This exposes his weakness and laziness.

Indeed ba Pastor…. What happened to that money? Do not play holy. Victory Ministries could have been the biggest Church in Zambia and probably Africa. Ba Pstor , you could have been even bigger than Nigerian Pastors including TB Joshua. But for your greedness and love of money your church failed to prosper. It is for this reason that everything that you touch fails. Victory ministries is a flop, the parties you tried form failed, your bid for presidency failed, your ambassdorship in Canada ended up in a mess, You tried TO LINK with HH , He eventually rejected you. You have messed up the MMD to the point where even this judgement will not take you anywhere. WHAT YOU NEED is repentance. Kneeling down before dead people will not help you.

What we need is God’s hand in Zambia’s Political Affairs. The PF Government has caused irreparable damage to the economy and our livelihood due to bad governance, selfishness and greed. They have enriched themselves beyond the country’s GDP at the expense of the poor and weak. Every sector of our economy has been mismanaged, leaving very slim room for recovery. Whilst I am happy for Dr. Numbers victory against business mutati who was corruptly ushered into power with the blessing of RB, I strongly advice that MDD teams up with Opposition Alliance. I am sure lessons have been learnt from failed allaiance with PF in leadership, whereby MDD has been weakened by robbing the Party of its 11 greedy MPs, and finally dumping betrayer, Mutati from being minister of Finance. Dear ex-Pastor now turned politician… I listened to your radio show and it is clear my advise fell on deaf ears. Yesterday you were gloating about ‘defeating’ Mutati. You rubbed in the fact that you were ‘his boss’ when you held number 2 position under LPM. Of course you left out the part that you were a nominated MP he held a seat and that you sold your own party to bed with mmd. The last presidential election Mumba contested, he got one vote! His own. Which means his flock at Victory ministries did not vote for him. Bernad Nwaka, Pastor Chiluba, Pastor Imakando and all other pastors in the Pentescostal fratenity did not vote for him . Wait a minute!!! Not even his wife and children voted for him kikikikiki!!!! Ok all you MMD MPs prepare to ‘contribute’ to the party coffers from your salaries. The Secretariat will be salaried with the SG earning 20,000 per month paid by you, 63,000 for the President all expenses paid including for accommodation and a ‘reasonable’ car. SG will also receive an allowance and accompany the president who is embarking on a tour to inspect the party structures. He will fly business class when available and party functionaries will meet him at the airport and house him at party expense….until 2021…
