The fundamental message of Chitimukulu is that Zambia currently has no sound leadership to deliver countrywide development

Share

By: Anthony Bwalya – UPND Member.

Mr. Hakainde Hichilema, is a man who has relentlessly been building our collective Zambian dream since 2006, and without any signs of giving up.

This is the kind of leadership Mwine – Lubemba is invoking; the kind of leadership that is resilient focussed and uncompromisingly determined to serve the national interest.

It has taken me quite a bit of time to fully grasp the context and meaning of the recent remarks of the Mwine – Lubemba, Chitimukulu Henry Sosola.

First of it is important to both understand and appreciate that the Mwine – Lubemba, like most of our traditional leaders, is very intelligent and often tend to speak freely and liberally when he or indeed other traditional leaders do speak.

But then again, the Chitimukulu, was “in principle” addressing a national audience largely made up of politically poisoned, poorly educated Zambians, often incapable of decoding the subtlety of aggressive wisdom.

But let us be very clear: the fundamental message the Chitimukulu was sending across is that Zambia currently has no credible or sound political leadership necessary to deliver countrywide development for the benefit of all Zambians.

He specifically made reference to the drunken leadership of President Edgar Lungu, the same leadership that has destroyed this country, while being praised and applauded by the PF political establishment as the gold standard.

When the Chitimukulu makes reference to Chiefs selling land driving investors onto the edge, he knows full well who the principal architects of the mass plunder of land and other natural resources have been. For example, it was unheard of for chiefs to sell land before the coming of the PF in 2011.

But the Chiefs now have come to a realization, that the PF regime and its cadres have no regard for either state or traditional protocol on the management of land and other natural resources. These individuals cannot be trusted to manage our precious natural resources, including land, for the benefit of all of us.

This is why, in part, chiefs are now demanding more and better control of all natural resources in their chiefdoms as a way of fending off the unhindered greed of PF clowns.

So, instead of waiting for PF cadres to pounce on the land and sell it for profit, the chiefs would rather do it themselves – contraversial but logical.

The Chitimukulu bemoans the lack of tangible development in Bembaland and that the people of his chiefdom are not standing up for themselves. Well, there is hardly any development anywhere across the country and the people of Zambia are generally failing to stand up for themselves.

For example, how do we allow a government to steal $4 million of Social Cash Transfer funds and yet we have close to 12 million people living in abject poverty, not only in Bembaland, but throughout the entire country? How do we allow a government to steal over $30 million in the infamous Fire Tender scam when we cannot afford to put ORS in our clinics? How do we allow a health Minister to spend $11 million on Ambulances that never arrived when the whole country only has 18 ventilators? How do we allow a government to fail to account for over $1.5 billion of Mukula revenue when we cannot pay our pensioners?

Clearly, this is NOT a Bemba specific problem. We are a passive generation that has failed to stand-up for ourselves in the face of a non performing, self-service, corrupt and manipulative PF regime.

Just now, the PF are silencing the media and have closed Prime TV. I bet you, even the Chitimukulu would have loved Prime TV to cover the sufferings of his people and bring such to light, but that has been taken away from him and his subjects and yet his subjects are silent. But not just the subjects of the Mwine – Lubemba, we all are largely silent. Why?!!!

The culture of poor workmanship the Chitimukulu refers to in his chiefdom spans the whole country. We have a government that is never interested in the quality of works done around public projects. How many projects built under the PF regime, at such colossal costs, have since broken down to pieces and in need of rebuilding? Plenty.

This is what happens when corruption becomes the standard order of government business.

Zambia can be saved. But it is not only the Bemba who must stand-up and demand better, we all must rise to the occasion and say we deserve far much better in the way of public leadership, away from the political nonsense we have been subjected under the PF regime.

  2. Clearly Sunday clown Chanda has some lessons to catch up with Anthony Bwalya. Antonio clown Mwaanza used to be a near match intellectually when he was in Fididi. Your guess is as good as mine what thing he has been turned into.

AND ZAMBIANS HAVE DEMOCRATICALLY REJECTED HIS FLAWED DREAM SINCE 2006!! WHY HAS HE ABROGATED THE UPND CONSTITUTION TO HOLD ON TO POWER AFTER 2 TERMS AND REMAIN THE DOLE UNCHALLENGED CANDIDATE FOR 14 YEARS NOW???

  4. Mwine Lubemba has spoken and I conquer with him. I equally cannot understand what we have become as a nation. We have accepted corruption and economic plunder as a way of life. We have accepted to stand and watch as the PF regime continues to mismanage our country through corruption. We have the power as the people of Zambia to remove corrupt governments through the power of the vote. We must be a country of high moral and ethical standards. We are now suffering because of failure to properly use the powers vested in us as citizens. No corrupt government must be given a second chance to plunder. Let’s build strong structures to fight this cancer called corruption and rebuild our country again.

  6. PF is a group made of most dull people look at Sunday Chanda he couldn’t even grasp and understand what Chief Chitimukulu was talking about according to the speech the Chief is not happy with PF instead Sunday twisted the story and started blaming UPND instead of sorting out their poor leadership PF should stop talking too much about UPND i think PF has a lot of issues which they need to sort out before their convention the issue of third term does Lungu qualify what about KBF is he going to be allowed to stand at the convention you got so many problems in your party leave UPND alone UPND is okay anyone who challenge you is expelled when we say dictatorship you say no its not then what do you call it.

  7. A UPND Presidency has a tenure of 5 years, Hichilema has already clocked 15 years so he’s going for a fourth term yet he’s only been elected once. Make that mistake and put him in Plot 1 muzamuziba Yesu! Bena KZ behave yourselves because Hichilema is bad news

  8. Sosala said it frankly that Southern province understands what Zambians need, compared to Bemba cowards who get wiped by PF, hence boycott voting.
Lusambo has costed PF the last votes in Lusaka. PF in Copper belt is closed, with mines.
Sosala is saying Northern province should not fear, just go and give your honest vote.

  9. The problem in PF is that the president is surrounded by dull people who can’t advise him or it’s fear of being expelled which keeps people not to tell the President the truth that’s one bad thing of dictatorship even your own advisers will be scared to tell you the truth.

Ah I have laughed so hard Haha. Can you imagine? How does someone qualify to be nominated president since 2006? During that time my kids have graduated from primary schools and even when they go to uni the only upnd president they will ever know in their lifetime is HH. The life long ruler. I find it absurd that the chaps in diaspora who call us undemocratic, find this normal and turn a blind eye. I am sure we know what tribe they are from. Go to hello hanthony habwalya

  11. Kaizer Zulu, I hope you have build a house in South Africa becomes next year you will need it when the PF Government falls and you have to run. Speak to Rupiah Band’s sons, they maybe in a position to help you, they dashed to the airport when Rupiah Banda’s government fell.

  12. Kaisala Sulu or Whatever you call yourself. don’t insult us in the Diaspora. Unlike you who thrive on tribal politics we are far above tribal politics. In this day and age such evils as tribalism should never be allowed in our country. For your own information, I am Bemba but I do not care what tribe a leader is as long as he is not corrupt and delivers tangible development to the people of Zambia. The PF will go down in history as the worst party that thrived on tribalism, violence and corruption. Zambia belongs to all Zambians and we will not be divided by the PF. We will stand united against tribalism, poor governance, corruption and violence. One Zambia, One Nation!

  14. @Vote “hh” Out: Don’t parties have constitutions?? Secondly, Nawakwi, like hh, have abrogated their party constitutions. You people, democracy only applies to others like PF and not you??? You are pathetic, no wonder Zambians will continue rejecting you except your tribalistic supporters!!!

  15. Vote him out you are a very daft rock head. The post says nominated president and common sense means candidate for upnd. Non of those leaders have been candidates for as long as hh and they all go for conventions. When last was the upnd leadership up for grabs? You are meant to be the biggest opposition and yet you are trying to compare yourself to small parties that is why you cant lead this country. You are too childish as a party. Take this from someone who has won elections

  16. so it is worth trying him out. he should be widely consultative of all Zambians regardless of educational attainment, tribe, religion/chruch and disability.

  21. @Vote Him Out, Hichilema is one of the front runners in the next election that’s why we are talking about him. I don’t even remember which position Nawakwi was. She’s clinging to that office because she’s got a very good sponsor that I won’t mention here. Ask Antonio Mwanza he’ll confirm that FDD is among the most well funded Parties. We will now relegate Hichilema to the likes of Nawakwi if that’s your wish.

  22. @NBA: I doubt diasporans can develop this country. Problem they are out of touch with the grassroots. They think doing things at top and elite level is developing a country. Even after WWII, Germany and Japan wasn’t developed by those who went to hide in other countries but by local population.

  23. To my Bemba brothers who boasts of the superiority of numbers, can you be a blessing to the country and not a curse, as your chief, our chief too, advised being king makers vote for us a good leader among your tribe, as we have read in today’s mast, Ngandu Bwalya. But let him be a good leader for all not you only.
At the moment your numbers are a curse to the nation; massive destructive corruption is being perpetrated by your tribesmen, civil service and government allowed private companies only employ your tribesmen and some chipatans such tribalism is rampant. If we can not all enjoy the benefits of being Zambian then let’s devide country and stay like minded people on their own. Bemba group and chipatans alone and Zambezi provinces with lusaka and part of central province on their…

Or for once unite the country as the ruling party and appoint some one from North western or western as a successor to lungu or a lusakan. You are just exchanging presidency between bemba and chipata people, all these years nothing to show for country is performing like is just recovering from a long war or is under sanctions

  25. What Sunday Chandra explained yesterday is what Chief Chitimukulu said and meant, and not what Hantony Habwalya has said. Simply put, and in simple terms, Chief Chitimukulu is urging the 22% Bemba speaking population to emulate the Southerners who only vote for fellow southerners, and not non-Southerners! Mwenelubemba is urging Bemba-speaking people to register as voters enmass like the Southerners do, hence vote their own like the Southerners do! The Chief has hammered the nail on its head. It boggles my mind how and why Southerners think that there’s nothing wrong for them to only vote for people who hail from Southern province, and at the same time expect the Northerners to vote for Southerners! So if Southerners can only vote for one of their own, then the Northerners should…

  26. also only vote for one of their own! Period! So Hichilema and his relatives should forget about him being in plot 1, because he will never have the 22% Bemba speaking group!

  27. Anthony Bwalya young man, I am a bemba and respect our Paramount Chief Henry Manga Kanyanta Sosala in mwine Lubemba Chitimukulu. Leave him out of your childish UPND politics because he didn’t mention names or parties. He was simply giving counsel. Don’t sell your soul for expediency sake. Ask his grandson GBM about your UPND you are trying to entangle our very intellectual and learned Paramount Chief.

  28. @Angoni, at least one solution to solve electricity load shedding by HH would not include a PF government method of urinating into Kariba dam for more water to generate electricity for the country. Buying fake ambulances or obsolete fire engine would not be one solution of solving teething problems in Zambia. Solutions would encompass complex management leveling and ramping up on corruption and wastage of resources.

  29. But HH is already corrupt person how would you expect him to rump corruption? He fradurently sold Zambian mines to the Chinese and Indians! He has nothing to offer! He’s a known crook.

  30. Bane, how can you forget so easily? When did data become PF President? How many years was he PF President? If he didn’t die, how many years could he have been PF President? If you answer those questions honestly you will realize that only dullness will lead to conclusions you are making about HH and others
