Zambia’s Under-17 Women’s National Team hosts Ethiopia on Saturday in the first leg of the final round of 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium. Kick-off is 15h00.
The Copper Princesses are targeting a third consecutive World Cup appearance. Ethiopia arrived in Ndola on Thursday afternoon.
Head coach Carol Kanyemba said preparations were complete.
“As coaches we have done everything needed. We are ready for the game; it’s now up to the girls to execute,” she said after Friday’s session at Levy.
Kanyemba said Ethiopia would be a new test.
“This is the first time we are meeting Ethiopia. Teams are different year in year out and for them to reach this far is testament to their quality,” she said.
Zambia will look to use home advantage before the return leg in Addis Ababa.
“We are going into this game with a new focus, which is to beat this team at home and get maximum points with enough goals to shield the away fixture,” Kanyemba said.
She urged fans to turn up in numbers.
