Veteran Ndola administrator Richard Kalasa says Zambia’s Under-17 Women’s Team can secure a third FIFA World Cup appearance when they face Ethiopia in Saturday’s qualifier at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
Zambia and Ethiopia meet in the first leg of the final qualifying round for Morocco 2026. Carol Kanyemba’s side has already eliminated DR Congo, Uganda and Rwanda.
Kalasa, former Forest Rangers chairperson, said the team had shown quality in Ndola.
“I want to see the girls qualify for the World Cup. The last time I watched them at Levy against DR Congo, they showed massive talent,” Kalasa said.
“We have a future in these girls. They are young, talented players who will take over from Barbra Banda and Rachael Kundananji.”
The former administrator urged fans to turn out in numbers.
“I am encouraging all supporters to come to Levy Mwanawasa Stadium and back the girls,” he said.
Zambia have been in camp in Ndola for over two weeks. Kick-off is 15h00. The return leg is in Ethiopia next week.
