President Hichilema touts equal job opportunities countrywide

President Hakainde Hichilema says the United Party for National Development (UPND) government is creating jobs and employing people in various sectors without segregation.

President Hichilema adds that no government has massively employed people in the education and health sectors among others.

The Head of State said this at Mitete Secondary School in Western Province during a community engagement.

President Hichilema also said that the country was having a lot of problems in the past hence its economy was dwindling.

He noted that the UPND government was working hard to put things in order because it has love and care for its citizenry.

“Do you want us to go back to a situation where we had a lot of problems? Do you want us to go back to a situation whereby there was violence? The answer is no”, he said.

President Hichilema asked the people of Mitete to give the UPND a massive vote on 13th August, 2026 in order to continue with its developmental agenda.

“If you want continuity with development, vote for the chain. We want you to vote in a suitable pattern by voting for all our candidates at Local Government and Parliamentary level”, he said.

Earlier, UPND Alliance Chairperson, Charles Milupi, asked the people of Mitete to give President Hichilema a second term.

Mr Milupi said, giving President Hichilema another term would translate into construction of a bridge connecting Lukulu District to Mitete on the Zambezi River and gravelling the road between the two districts.

UPND Deputy Secretary General, Getrude Imenda, appealed to civil servants not to be cheated and vote for the opposition on a promissory note that they would be offered a debt swap when they failed to implement it when they were in power.

“In the previous regime, there used to be wage freezes, but HH increases salaries for civil servants every year,” Ms Imenda noted.

Western Province UPND Chairperson, Kapelwa Mbangweta, said President Hichilema brought power to Mitete, a thing that other Presidents failed to do.
