  1. Very good to involve stakeholders in making such resolutions. I hope they include late payment to Farmers.
However as a land owner who has grown various crops and kept livestock, I have been involved numerous times in these deliberations back in Zambia. I can honestly say resolutions, no matter how good or powerful or inclusive they maybe, are NOTHING without effective implementation. Passing resolutions has a ‘feel good’ factor but without implementation, it all turns to demoralise.
On the issue of diversification of crops, this mysterious seizure we have of growing Maize Maize and more Maize should be seriously addressed. We cannot go on like this. Where are the ifipushi, imyungu, sweet potatoes, ground nuts, intonyo, Water melons, Beans, Millet, Soyabeans, Sorghum, Sunflower,…

  2. Question. How many small scale farmers were represented or present at that Indaba? It seems to me that leadership in the Agriculture sector is top to bottom and not the other way round. Any wonder it is not benefitting small scale farmers?
