Government apologises to farmers for late delivery of fertilizer

Government has apologised to Kasempa farmers for the late delivery of Urea Fertiliser in the 2016/2017 farming season.

Speaking in an interview with Kfm news, Kasempa District Commissioner (DC) Goodson Sansakuwa said Government is aware that fertilizer distribution in the district was delayed this year.

The DC said the delay was caused by the suppliers who could not deliver the input in time despite being paid on time by Government.

Mr. Sansakuwa, however, was pleased to say that about 90% of the farmers have received the input and only about six truck loads are remaining to complete the consignment.

The DC said he  does not anticipate a bumper harvest this year but assured the farmers that government will put its house in order to deliver the input early in the coming farming season.

  1. Is there a reason that the forecast BUMPER HARVEST has now been down graded. Rains have been good, can someone please give the REASON

  2. IT IS TIME THE GOVERNMENT BACKED OUT OF AGRICULTURE . LEAVE THE FARMERS TO SORT THEMSELVES OUT AS THE GOVERNMENT BRINGS POLITICS INTO IT.

  3. Another predicted failure by the Pathetic Failures thinking that by saying sorry everthing will be fine. In well managed countries, the Agric Minister would have resigned on moral grounds. But in Zambia, failure is a standard and there’re no consequences. Shame

  4. Lets now see how the Pa bu Fi pf will feed the nation with apologies. I just hope you also delayed in corruption

  5. Ba PF,same old same old.Kuwayayafye!!@ Kubweka – yes maybe if govt backed out of agric, things could actually work. They have actually failed us in agriculture!!

  7. Why apologize when government has been saying it’s because of the presidential petition?
