If indeed Vice president Dr Guy Scott cherishes his long friendship with the late President Michael Sata as he said, please let him then stop acting as president of Zambia and allow late Sata’s preferred man, Edgar Lungu act as president of Zambia for this 90days.
As Zambia Republican Party ZRP, we strongly believe that our Late President knew why each time he went out of the country he always asked Hon. Edgar Lungu to act in his absence. We also strongly believe that President Sata knew why when it became clear to him that he was now weak, he fired Wynter Kabimba and gave a lot of responsibilities to Hon. Edgar Lungu
At the same time as ZRP, we also believe that Sata knew why he chose Lungu to act in his absence in steady of his Vice President Dr Guy Scott or any other cabinet minister towards the end of his life. Hence, the need to follow the status quo does not arise.Without us sounding or appearing racial, but if the truth has to be said, we believe that had Dr Guy Scott been a black indigenous Zambian, no doubt late President Michael Sata should have left him to act in his absence.
Knowing also late Sata, no doubt he left Edgar Lungu in that position so that he could lead the party and the nation forward in case of what has now happened, happened.
As ZRP we just hope against the hope that Scott’s insistence to act as president of this country is not being motivated by his desire to aid Kabimba whom he called his boss to bounce back at the summit of both PF and Government at the expense both late President Sata and the people’s choice, Edgar Lungu.
Wright Musoma
ZRP President.
There’s no ‘honouring’ here mwana.
This is a new era.
Please try to understand.
Thanks.
Lungu is perpetually drunk.
The instruments of power from january 2015 must be given to either Mulenga Sata for legacy continuation and or Guy Scott
Anything else is an insult to President Sata
Kabimba must be brought back
Thanks
Kabimba should not even come anywhere near the realms of power. That man together with Mmembe and Mahtani are snakes.
However we have to move on . Presidents come and go, Zambia shall continue to exist. Long live Zambia. Abash Scott and PF.
Zambia does not belong to individuals that need to be honoured. It belongs to Zambians that must be honoured. Individuals will be dying but Zambia remains. Let the supreme law reign ..and let Zambians vote for a person of their choice without emotions of who is dead or alive! Zambia must move into a new era without machinations of blackmail about the dead or those that need to keep the legacy. Let them keep the legacy in their own families and bedrooms — if having many wives and uncountable children, so be it! Zambia must be free as our anthem goes
I remain unconvinced that the Constitution allows anyone, other than a President (Incumbent or newly elected) to receive the instruments of power from an Acting President. More so that in this current case we already had one acting President, in Edgar Lungu, when Sata died, who then passed on power to another person so that they can Act as President (No added value whatsoever). Does our consititution allow for that really? It is not even an issue of Honouring Sata but one of “Rule of Law”. All our legal minds seem to be more preoccupied by the issue of Scott’s eligibility to act as President rather than pointing out where in the consititution it allows a legitimately appointed Acting President, to hand over power to anyone other than a President (Incumbent or newly elected).
This press release is badly written. What is comrade Musoma trying to say?
I hate agreeing with people, but that was very difficult to read.
Might as well have left it in the local language the writer was translating from
Thanks
Dear Mr. Musoma
I thought Mumba was the President of ZRP??????? Did he leave instruments of power with you Sir?
Such thinking really puzzles me. It’s the constitution that takes precedence, not emotions or some traditional inheritance. Mr Musoma, next you will tell us that Dr Scott should cede power to Dr Kaseba.
Believe it or not, I’ve read one or 2 people saying this about Dr. Kaseba.
I think these ignoramuses just endorse anyone that wears better clothes than them, is seen coming out of a plane, is seen talking to whites, has their name mentioned on TV or their picture in the paper.
If you meet these criteria, then you MUST be president!
@jessie wa mu town
Its true! Any ID!OT can become President of Zambia.
Just look at the rubbish we have had for the last 3 years!
Kaseba for PRESIDENT!
It is now water under the bridge regarding acting president. Mr Musoma, if Sata wanted Lungu to lead the party and its government, why dont PF nominate him as sole candidate for the presidential by-election? Please leave scott to act. it is only for 90 days or less
LT and the media please stop giving space time to retards who have nothing between their ears like Wright Musoma to confuse and corrupt peoples minds.
Fellow Zambians, the issue has already been settled.Guy Scott will act till the day he hands over power to the 5th president.
Stop displaying your ignorance Mr Musoma. If you are soliciting for appointment from Lungu then you are are useless.
Imagine ayi,nw evry fool dat has sum yip yapjn to di LT,givs them space
Musoma you need to get rid of that rock in your head. ba Lusaka times naimwe why do you give such hopeless people a platform to express their stone edge views. This is utter rubbish.
Constitution Musoma, I thought you WERE part of the SO CALLED Grand Coalition fighting for the release of the draft constitution which was done just before the jubile. If you can respect the old constitution or let me say understand how are you going to understand and respect the new constitution?
IT IS IMPORTANT TO FACE REALITY IN LIFE. WHEN START THINKING IN TRIBAL LINE THEN YOU SWITCH OFF THE OBJECTIVE ANALYSIS OF MAKING DECISIONS. WINTER KABIMBA IS THE RIGHTFUL PERSON TO SERVE PF. BURRY YOU PRIDE TRIBAL THINKING APPROACH. IF PF WONT PICK KABIMBA BELIEVE ME PF WILL HAVE NO CANDIDATE. KABIMBA FOR PF PRESIDENCY VIVA.
Am saddened by the shallow minded politics of Zambia.People this is a country! To me Scott is more likely to be objective as a caretaker. The rest of these these chickens will be fighting.Thd fact that Lungu was acting does not qualify him.Look at MMD,they went with RB,and ignored Magande.Even Mutati was not a better candidate than Magande. We are not kids. So,what is Lungu’s track record.Gives us his credentials kaili.
I agree with you on Scott likely to be neutral and objective. My reasoning is that in our politics here you must agree with the president for your neck to be safe otherwise you become history. Guy Scott has shown us in the past that he can think independently and out of the box. We should spare him the punishment for thinking like any other PF member we think we do not like as the man may just be the best we can have and he can actually win the elections hoping the stories about his health are not true.
What sickens me about your comments, though, is calling fellow Zambians “chickens”. I think we should remember to be civil all the time.
How do we end up with politicians like Wright Musoma? No wonder the country can not develop, if this is the calibre of people we send to paliament.
Would someone enlighten me here; is it not that the PF is supposed to go for convention to elect the part president and the candidate to represent the part in the next presidential elections?
My concern here is that the party in now more divided than at any point and unity will be crucial for the party to survive and after survival continual moving ahead with a leader popularly chosen by the party.
Any one to guide me please?
(we strongly believe that our Late President knew why each time he went out of the country he always asked Hon. Edgar Lungu to act in his absence). Cho Chise, follow the leader, we need to sort out our way of thinking and elect a leader who will market attract investment to Zambia.
Musoma, who are you? We looking for the future, who can bring investment to the country, not just looking at who can act. Again SCOTT for President
Amazing ‘ZAMBIA REVERTS TO WHITE RULE” under very questionable circumstances: how did we allow this affront to the freedom fighters to happen. SATA never allowed it. why now? in this a conspiracy? – truth will emerge someday.
Please Guy Scott is a Zambian just like you and me. The only difference is that he wears a white skin. Take it or leave leave it, that man has contributed a lot to this nation than some people you think are more Zambian than him. I will actually be looking for us electing as republican president for this to be a first in Africa. We missed on being the first country to elect a woman president despite being labelled one of the most if not the most peaceful nation in Africa. We are likely to win a lot of investor confidence in Scott as he might be more believable to investor sentiment than any of those you want in his place. USA is more white that black but you were so happy Barack ‘Hussein’ Obama was made president of the most powerful nation on earth. Black with a Muslim name!
Zambia should always come first, and Mushota is right, lungu has weakness written all over him, will this man stand tall to tall with Zuma, Mugabe, Joseph Kabila etc, I seriously doubt, no offence to lungu.
The article is poorly written, its nat makin sense even
I dont kno why lusaka times keep subjectin us to rhetoric views from nonentities lyk this man ryt here,mr wrong musona plz do us a favour by shuttin up, u ba lusaka times naimwe learn to choose which articles to put here, sum of thiz pipo r a nonsense even to themselves,u r killin us
No doubt Scot under clear circumstance would be good economic development – no family trees or forests: But he has told so many lies on Sata’s healthy to be trusted:
Lungu & Hichilema combination is the only option for Zambia
let scott continue what the cabinet decided after all scott was not even in that meeting the question is who were there who made this and later start jumping up and down for someone these are the people who can cause confusion in the country can guy scott act now as a president bring order in your government arrest those causing trouble we want to move on
The constitution is very clear on who takes over once the sitting head of state dies. Edgar Lungu was not given instruments of power to act in the mans death. You might create unnecessary tension and war in the country when the issue is pretty straight forward. The guide is the constitution full stop. Can President Sata appoint some body to act in his death, definitely NO.
Right man on the helmet. . Chiluba’s selfish constitution embarrassed Zambia whereby vice president was overlooked. End to this fiasco !!!
Chiluba was correct. If this clause is his legacy then he deserves a pat on the back for ensuring Zambian sovereignity. (I can’t talk about anything else because I don’t know)
Well done Mr Chiluba. I hope this clause is maintained in the constitution.
Its not the constitution that overlooked Scott but Sata
Dr Guy Scott should be considered for President.
Bringing back Kabimba to stand as presidential candidate? If I were HH, would write an appreciation letter to PF
i have never known Zambians to be racist…i am VERY shocked and disappointed
@Jennifer
I am disappointed that you, who is in the US can see this as racism rather than self-preservation. Look how patriotic and protective of their country the Americans are. You must see it, you live here. THEIR OWN come first in everything.
Sure, they’ll never stand up and shout it out, they espouse equality! And that’s what is so disingenuous about it – we however swallow it whole.
Anyone with divided allegiances should not be handed the instruments of power. I’m sure Mr. Scott is probably a very nice gentleman. But he has an identifiable other place he calls home and is therefore subject to manipulation and compromise because of this allegiance. Further, I can also pin-point Charlotte’s home – IN THE UK!
It’s about protecting yourself!
Dr scot is the perfect man to act as president and was very close to Mr Sata and Mr Sata always mentioned his name wherever he made a speech. Remember he once joked about USA AND ZAMBIA being similar and were the only countries with such similarities like having white and black top 2 leaders. He trusted Dr Scot more cos they were founders of PF.I would rather he continues as president till 2016 elections. He more suitable.
Sorry to say this BUT we are not Sata’s property we are a republic so it is not Sata’s wish that must prevail but constitutional provisions PERIOD!
Lets try the anointed one,’FAT ALBERT” Kambwili!
Two things, Musoma is a pin head and two, Scott needs to instill order in the PF. Willie Nsanda, Edgar “Kaminamisa” Lungu, Chindakwa and Sata junior must be expelled from the PF. This time for Mature leadership and non other than Kabimba has the guts to lead this flailing entity called PF.
I forgot to include foul mouthed minister from Mpatamatu, Kashimba Chimbwili.
Ba Musona. Ulupapulo lwa calo (Constitution) efyo yalanda efyakuchita. Ba Guy Scott ngabapela amaka kuli ba Scott ninshi batoba ifunde. Ba Lungu nabo ngabasumina ninshi batoba ifunde. Ba Cabinet tebapele amaka kuli ba Scott. Amaka yaba Scott yafumine mulupapulo lwa calo. Alanafwena mushi twalishiba efyo ulupapulo lwalanda. Teifwe mulebepa, muleibepafye mwebene-. If your party can fail to understand such simple and straifgt foward things,God help us.
That Lungu guy looks like a serious drunk… It’s about time you Zambians think seriously about the future of your country instead of worrying about what some village elders think.
