Sydney Kalume calls for calm at Nkana

Ex-Nkana captain Sydney Kalume has called for calm at his old club following the team’s poor start to the 2015 FAZ Super League campaign.

Beston Chambeshi’s Nkana have one point and a goal from the first three league matches.

Nkana’s slow start to the season resulted in the firing of Zeddy Saileti and Gift Kampamba as assistant coaches on Tuesday.

But Kalume, who led Nkana to winning their 12th league title in 2013, said it is too early for the club to start panicking.

“They have to wait, you know it is too early to start talking about firing coaches.

The coaches and players need more games to improve,” Kalume said.

The midfielder who has just rejoined Lusaka Dynamos from Nkana said inexperience has affected the performance of the Wusakile club this term.

“The team will start winning but you know Nkana need players with a big heart. You know some players they bought are not experienced,” Kalume noted.

Nkana signed over ten players at the start of the season.

After losing to Nkwazi and Red Arrows at home, Nkana are now scheduled to face National Assembly (away), Zesco United (home) and Choma Eagles (away) in their next three games.

    • I agree the coach makes decisions, this is a first from what where a team fires the assistants unless there’s something tha hasn’t been said to make me understand.
