Hired Intelligentsia Target South Africa , Zambia and Zimbabwe For Regime Change

AFRIKA: THE OTHER SIDE OF THE COIN.

Hired Intelligentsia And Their Well-Paid Think Tanks Target South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe For Regime Change.

The recent deportation of one of South Africa’s political opposition leaders, Mmusi Maimane of the Democratic Alliance (DA) from Lusaka’s ‘Kenneth Kaunda International Airport’ made headlines in South Africa and Zambia, as well as on the African continent. Maimane and his delegation flew to Lusaka in order to show his political party’s allegiance with Zambia’s opposition leader, Hakainde Hichilema from the UPND, who currently serves his term in prison for serious treason charges.

The aforementioned is similar to the blatant disrespect for the sovereignty of Zimbabwe, when the then Secretary General of the Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU), Zwelinzima Vavi, and his delegation traveled there to publicly side with their counterpart, ZCTU, and its MDC-T under Morgan Tsvangirai. Vavi and his Zimbabwean friends wanted to publicly denounce President Robert Mugabe and his ZANU-PF led government.

Zwelinzima Vavi also traveled to Swaziland to join forces there with the local trade union movement and its call for King Mswati III to be dethroned. His Majesty had Vavi and his COSATU leadership promptly evicted.

During colonial-apartheid and the “cold war”, South Africa waged war in southern Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe and beyond.

During the CODESA negotiations it came to light that colonial-apartheid South Africa was used as an executioner for the international West and its interests in the geo-strategic Cape Sea Route, its minerals and wealth.

The guidance of the apartheid regime and later of a “new, democratic” South African Afropessimistic opposition took the form of an NGO- and Foundation industry, always well funded, well networked and very busy, undermining the state.

The aforementioned show a clear history of aggression, arrogance and destabilisation in order to get ownership of the economies of and control over the SADC region.

South Africa’s opposition DA leader, Maimane, “was turned away from Zambia, as his presence was going to undermine the sanctity, integrity and independence of the Judiciary. DA Maimane’s presence was going to undermine the integrity of Zambia’s judiciary”, a statement from Zambia’s High Commission in Pretoria explained.

The statement also publicized that DA Maimane and his team had visited the Zambian High Commission after their return from Lusaka. He was obviously frustrated.

Zambia’s First Secretary, Press and Public Relations, Madam Naomi Nyawali, stated, “We also took time to alert him to our concerns regarding his media statement that stated that he was going to pressure our Courts of Law to release Mr. Hichilema. We took time to discuss all matters and our entire meeting was fruitful.” It seemed all diplomatic.

Zambia’s High Commissioner to Pretoria, Mwamba, was at pains explaining, how close the working relationship between Zambia and South Africa is. “Zambia is in the top ten of South Africa’s trading partners.”

There seems to be an interest in Zambia however, a mining interest. Zambia has huge copper deposits. It seemed reasonable for Jonathan Oppenheimer to visit Lusaka and the copper region repeatedly before the last national elections and thereafter. It seemed more reasonable to make Anglo’s interest clear to the head-of-state, Edgar Lungu, at the same time, favoring the opposition leader, Hakainde Hichilema. And now this … a provocative leader of the opposition being charged for treason for having endangered

An NGO and Foundation industry with sizeable budgets and its hooligan armchair academia continuously work on a never-ending drive of interfering into matters of sovereign neighbours to retain control and influence.

Think tanks such as the Brenthurst Foundation, Helen Suzman Foundation, Freedom Under Law, US-George Soros’s “Southern African Litigation Center” (SALC) and a host of others have a so-called intelligentsia on their boards. Those include Dr. Ann Bernstein; Professors Mathew Nel and Christo Nel at the University of Stellenbosch; Professor Mark Swilling from the Centre for Complex Systems in transition at the University of Stellenbosch; Prof. Ivor Chipkin at the Public Affairs Research Institute (PARI) at the University of the Witwatersrand; Dr. Mbongiseni Buthelezi from Public Affairs Research Institute at the University of the Witwatersrand; Prof. Haroon Bhorat from the Development Policy Research Unit at the University of Cape Town; Numkile Mondi from the Department of Economics at the University of the Witwatersrand. There are a few more. Their names grace many boards in and appear on many letterheads in South Africa.

Here is the risk. This intelligentsia says all the right things for the wrong reasons, attempting to confuse leadership. They are not there to help South Africa, or Zambia. The only intention is not to assist achieving a better country, but to open the doors for looting by their masters. By executing the aforementioned, they actually neutralize leadership, leaving them like rabbits in front of the bright lights of an oncoming car. Leadership finds itself in a position, where they are damned when they defend themselves, and are damned, when they don’t.

It has become quite clear that the matter of a regime change is imminent. At the heart of this problem is an inept group of people who will pay the ultimate price of being destroyed in one way, or another. It seems that Afropessimistic character assassination is first choice to get rid of a head-of-state and his inner circle.

It is important that the indigenous Africans learn and understand history and the lies behind the economic and financial systems with humility where they admit, that they have deliberately been deceived and misinformed by a skewed economic education system. Therefore, they will never see an economic freedom.

All of the above has nothing to do with “democracy”, an empty term, which is purely used to hide behind and plunder.

Costa Rica beats Zambia as ref Conger takes starring role

12

Zambia has finished top of Group C despite losing 1-0 to Costa Rica in controversial fashion on Saturday at the 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup.

The African champions conceded a soft penalty, survived a saved spot kick while a disallowed goal conspired against Zambia as New Zealand referee Matt Conger stole the show on the day.

Meanwhile, Ngosa Sunzu who was making his Under-20 debut saw his 7th minute long range shot parry by Erick Pineda in a frantic start on both ends.

Then Zambia were 1-0 down in the opening quarter after they conceded a dubious penalty in the 15th minute when Prosper Chiluya and Jimmy Marin clashed in a late challenge for the ball.

Jostin Daly stepped up to the the penalty that was parried by Mangani Banda but the Costa Rica striker made amends on the rebound to hand them the lead.

Zambia continued to dominate Costa Rica but poor finishing by them also played a major part in suffering their first loss at the tournament.

Costa Rica then won a second penalty in the 65th minute when Randall Leal was pushed by Sunzu.

Leal was denied by the post to keep the scoreline narrow but the drama didn’t end there.

Daka then thought poetic justice had been served in the 88th minute but Conger cancelled the goal after seeking a second opinion from the video referee.

Zambia, though, move onto the last 16 on 6 points, two more than second placed Portugal and Costa Rica who finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Portugal face hosts South Korea on May 30 while England are Costa Rica prospective last 16 suitors.

Zambia await the outcome of Sunday’s Group F matches to know their opponents with Germany currently the best 3rd placed side on the prospective list of sides from Groups A,B and F.

Argentina have 3 points from Group A and Germany have 4points from Group B.

But there is all to play for in a tight Group F with USA (4 points), Senegal (3), Saudi Arabia (3) and Ecuador (1) in action on Sunday in their final pool matches.

Maimane’s ignorance in the province of international law-Sunday Chanda

South African Opposition leader Mmusi Maimane of the Democratic Alliance (DA) claimed that his denial of entry into Zambia by the Zambian immigration was a violation of international law. Clearly, Maimane exposed some very worrying ignorance in the province of international law. We wish to provide him with a brief lecture on what international law holds over the events Maimane found himself in.

The true norm of international law was (and remains) that: ‘a state may legitimately exclude aliens only if, individually or collectively, they pose a serious danger to its public safety, security, general welfare or essential institutions.’

Maimane posed a serious danger on the judicial institution of our country as he had issued alarming and contemptuous statements to the effect that he would ‘gang-up’ with the opposition in Zambia to pressure the judiciary into releasing persons undergoing the due process of the law, in this regard Hakainde Hichilema. International law does not provide protection for such storm-brewing aliens. Any sovereign state will within its sovereignty legitimately shut its doors on such aliens.

In an American case of Nishimura Ekiu v United States, it was asserted that: ‘It is an accepted maxim of international law, that every sovereign nation has the power, as inherent in sovereignty, and essential to self-preservation, to forbid the entrance of foreigners within its dominions, or to admit them only in such cases and upon such conditions as it may seek to prescribe.’

Further, in Chae Chan Ping v United States, it was stated that if a sovereign ‘could not exclude aliens it would be to that extent subject to the control of another power’.

It would therefore be politically and legally illegitimate for states or international law to ‘respect’ the ‘rights’ of those who are not supposed to be present within the dominion of a given State.

We therefore call on Maimane to cease misleading himself and the international community. His remarks of pressuring the Courts to release Hichilema bordered contempt of Court. Let him respect Zambia’s judiciary.

Amnesty International has said that the Adjournment of opposition leader’s treason case is “persecution through prosecution”

In response to the Lusaka Magistrate Court’s decision to adjourn the case of United Party for National Development (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema and five of his employees until 12 June, Deprose Muchena, Amnesty International’s Regional Director for Southern Africa said:

“Hakainde Hichilema and his five employees are currently undergoing persecution through prosecution and the charge against them must be dropped. Their arrest and detention is part of a cynical ploy to silence all political opposition in Zambia.

“This treason charge is designed to intimidate Hichilema and stop him and others in the opposition from taking part in public affairs. The Zambian authorities must stop misusing the criminal justice system to target and harass the political opposition.”

Hakainde Hichilema is the president of the main opposition political party, the United Party for National Development (UPND) in Zambia.

The six were arrested on 11 April after they allegedly failed to give way to a Presidential convoy in Mongu district. They claim they were beaten, teargassed and pepper sprayed on their genitals by the police.

Hichilema was initially charged with treason, “disobeying lawful orders” and using insulting language towards the police after a confrontation with a convoy carrying President Edgar Lungu.

The Lusaka magistrate court later dropped all charges except treason.

Minister of Health Chitalu Chilufya has addressed the 70th World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland with a call for all countries to take health services within the reach of families.

Dr. Chilufya says energies must be concentrated in ensuring effectiveness and efficiency at the front-line of service delivery as this is where lives are gained or lost.

He has also challenged the World Health Organisation – WHO – to lead the global, regional and national transformational view of health as an economic asset.

Dr. Chilufya stated that healthy populations are the foundation of economic growth, as they provide the productive workforce to develop a country.

He further told the gathering of Health ministers from across the globe that health assures an income earning population that serves as consumers to provide demand for goods and services.

The minister stressed that the WHO must therefore begin talking about global investment in health not as a charity or humanitarian event, but as a solid economic investment.

Dr. Chilufya also used the opportunity to congratulate Dr. Tedros Adhanom on his election to the High Office of Director General of the World Health Organisation.

The minister also informed the Assembly that Zambia is now one of the few countries in the world which has instituted a “National Health Week” in which President Edgar Lungu leads the whole country into a week-long of activities.

Some Civil Servants

Dear Editor,

It is with great disappointment that an initiative which was meant to clear up the system under the Local Government Commission, has been turned into business.Transfers at the Local Government Service Commission are being given to same people who are offering bribes to officers at the commission. Employees have been applying for transfers with genuine reasons but the commission has decided to turn a blind eye on such requests and concentrate with money making mission. It should be noted that some people only serve their duty stations for less than a year.

Women must continue to put pressure on governments to promote inclusiveness-Wina

Vice President Mrs Inonge Wina addressing a meeting at Legatum Institute in London.
Vice President, Inonge Wina says women must continue to put pressure on governments in Africa to promote inclusiveness, if the drive to reduce disaster risk effects is to be achieved.

ZNBC’s Franklin Tembo reports that Ms. Wina was speaking at a Women Leaders Forum, at the on-going 2017 Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction conference in Cancun, Mexico.

And speaking at the same event, United Nations Deputy Secretary-General, Amina Mohammed said gender imbalance will work against the gains that are being sought in the campaign for reducing disasters.

The UN Deputy Chief has further called on global leadership to be sensitive to gender balancing, if concrete results of reducing disaster risks were to be achieved.

Meanwhile, the conference has learnt that Zambia is exposed to a variety of hazards, such as droughts, floods, pest infestation, human and animal epidemics, hailstorms and landslides, which make the country vulnerable.

Ms Wina said the country also experiences man-made hazards, such fires and industrial accidents.

South African opposition leader is an agent of Imperialists-Nakacinda

11

Raphael Nakacinda
Raphael Nakacinda
The Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) has described as childish political propaganda the move by South African opposition leader to come to Zambia even after being advised not to do so by the Zambian High Commissioner due to the nature of the matters he wanted to address are in the courts which would have been contemptuous.

Commenting on the much publicised denial of entry into the country by Zambian government of Democratic Alliance (DA) Musi Maimane, MMD National Secretary Raphael Nakacinda said it was childish and nonsensical for Mr Maimane to try and do his cheap politics in a foreign country.

He said it was unprecedented for an opposition leader to attempt to get into another country disregarding all diplomatic channels through which they can express themselves and that his actions should be condemned with the contempt it deserves.

“First of all we take great exceptions to that conduct in the sense that it will be the first time and unprecedented to witness an opposition leader attempting to get into another country disregarding all diplomatic channels through which they can express themselves if they have any issue they would want to communicate but deciding to move from their respective countries and to come to another country wanting to politic here I think that is unacceptable and it should be condemned with the contempt it deserves.

“Who is this Maimane? He is of no consequence, a boy being used by an assembly of imperialists so called DA.

“I think the DA leader is behaving in a childish manner. That is childish political propaganda our position as MMD is that the government was in order to stop an attempt by friends of the UPND and indeed agents of imperialist who are being sent here to try and create an impression that there is something wrong in Zambia,” said Mr Nakacinda.

He noted that the UPND leader who Mr Maimane wanted to come and offer solidarity with was arrested on an allegation and has not been denied access to justice by fair hearing in the judiciary hence the need for the opposition leader to respect the sovereignty and judicial process of Zambia.

He advised the UPND and their lawyers to sharpen their skills in applying themselves as opposed to raising unnecessary motions thereby prolonging the process.

“Looking at the way things are going the UPND have been going to court on every day basis and making all kinds of applications, there lawyers are making all kinds of applications which is delaying the court process and indirectly punishing their client HH.

“Our view is that they should sharpen their skill and get their act together in terms of applying themselves in court so that they can have this matter come to a conclusion and let ultimately the law determine the fate of HH and not the cheap propaganda being advocated for,” he said.

He also described people condemning the government for not allowing Mr Maimane in the country as agents of imperialist.

“Those who do not want to respect the sovereignty of our land and also not respect the standard practice of respecting treaties, regional and international standards in trying to do things are meant to appease their sponsors.

“This Maimane for example is just an agent of imperialists, he is leading a political party that is more or less responsible for atrocities that Africans suffered for over a hundred years. I think it is important that we put that on record we don’t want agents of imperialism to come here that they are advancing the cause on principle when they are advancing the cause of their sponsors,” he said.

There have been both local and international media reports, after immigration officials denied entry into the country the South African opposition leader Musi Maimane who wanted to attend the court session for fellow opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema who is appearing in court on a treason charge.

I will be back in Zambia for HH’s trial-Maimane

Zambian High Commissioner in Pretoria Emmanuel Mwamba. with South Africa’s Democratic Alliance leader Mmusi Maimane during their meeting
South Africa’s Democratic Alliance leader Mmusi Maimane has insisted that despite the fracas and his deportation from Zambia, he will attempt to be in Lusaka on the next trial date of detained Zambian opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema.
“I have asked the Zambian High Commission to give me full reasons why they denied us entry yesterday [Thursday] in Zambia. They have assured me that they are going to come back to me about that issue,” Mr. Maimane said as he emerged from a meeting with Zambian High Commissioner in Pretoria Emmanuel Mwamba.

“Furthermore, we are not going to stay away. I have asked that at the next trial [appearance] of Mr HH [Hakainde Hichilema], we will go and attend – not because we want to meddle with the courts of Zambia, but we want to stand and ensure that the Zambian government acts in a democratic manner.

“I still hold the views that Mr Lungu [Zambian President Edgar Lungu] is not acting in a manner consistent with democracy. Therefore I will be going back there, given the time, for us to go and support Mr HH in Zambia. We are not going to be deterred.”

Earlier on Friday, Mr. Mwamba said Mr. Maimane had been notified this week to postpone his visit to Lusaka.

“On Tuesday, Mr Maimane’s office got in touch with us and informed us that he will be travelling to Zambia on Thursday. When we contacted Lusaka, especially about the details of Mr Maimane’ visit, we were advised that Mr Maimane should reschedule his visit,” Mwamba said as he addressed journalists in Pretoria.

“His visit was to go and visit his colleague [Hakainde Hichilema leader of largest Zambian opposition United Party for National Development UPNP] in solidarity and we found nothing wrong with that. But we advised him that there were concerns over his statements and utterances especially regarding the sanctity of our courts.”

Mr. Mwamba said Mr. Maimane had also been advised to get permission from Zambian courts “because there is a list which the courts approve, of people who can see Mr Hichilema.”.

The envoy said Lusaka will determine who is allowed permission into the country.

“Zambia as a sovereign state can determine persons to be allowed entry into our country and that is not in dispute. We however wish to affirm that Zambia continues to have mutual and admirable diplomatic relations with South Africa based on the historical economic and social ties between the two countries,” he said.

Mr. Mwamba said Lusaka had taken serious issue with Mr. Maimane’s remarks on the independence of the judiciary in Zambia, ahead of the trip.

“If you look at our judiciary, which is more like the British one, it is not similar to the South African one where you allow cameras in courtrooms. Ours is quite a conservative one. The integrity and sanctity of our courts of law is jealously guarded.

“We do not allow undue pressure, not even our Republic’s President can put pressure on our courts. So the remarks by Mr Maimane, stating that he was to pressure the courts to release Mr Hichilema – how does he pressure the courts? He said he wants to pressure our government to release Mr Hichilema. Is it not government holding Mr Hichilema,” said Mr. Mwamba.

“The arrest of Mr Hichilema does not in any way state that we are sliding into a dictatorship. It is simply a matter of the rule of law – no one is above the law.”

Mr. Mwamba addressed journalists after meeting officials from South Africa’s department of international relations, who wanted an explanation on Mr.Maimane’s Lusaka experience.

“Our position is very simple, that as an ordinary person Mr Maimane is very welcome. But if he wishes to politicise our court process, it is very clear we will not allow our court processes to be politicised,” said Mr. Mwamba.

He said Mr. Maimane has previously said charges against Mr. Hichilema were trumped up, and that was an assault on Zambia’s sovereignty, “and it undermines our rule of law and the judiciary especially”.

Mr. Maimane on Friday described how he and his colleagues were manhandled, had their cellphones and iPads confiscated by Zambian authorities.

They were prevented from disembarking from the aeroplane in Lusaka before they were forced to leave that country.

Maimane and his entourage were in Lusaka, hoping to attend the treason trial of Mr. Hichilema.

The detained opposition leader is alleged to have attempted to block President Edgar Lungu’s motorcade, which was travelling on the same road.

Mighty face their lucky side Power

0

Mighty Mufulira Wanderers host their regular customers Power Dynamos at Shinde Stadium in Mufulira on Saturday looking to stay unbeaten for a second game on the trot.

Bottom of the table Mighty come into the match three days after picking up their first league win of the 2017 season when they beat Nkwazi 2-0 away in Lusaka.

And now Mighty, who have 4 points, face the new league leaders Power who sneaked to the summit after a 5-0 home win over Konkola Blades in Kitwe on May 24.

But Power have not beaten Mighty since 2005 when the latter made a brief return to the FAZ Super Division following their debut demotion in 2002.

Power have since then failed to beat Mighty since the 9-time champions returned to the top flight in 2015.

A 1-1 home draw in Kitwe in the 2015 season is the only point Power have collected against the Shinde side.

Since then, Mighty have won all the last three meetings and also snatched a boardroom decision over Power last October in Kitwe after the assistant referee in that match was hurt by an object thrown from the stands.

Mighty were actually leading and dominating Power 1-0 before the match was abandoned at halftime before FAZ handed the Mufulira club the 3-0 away win.

However, Power are unbeaten this season from eight games and lead the table on 16 points, two more than the top four trio of Zanaco (2nd), Zesco United (3rd) and Lumwana Radiants (4th) where all tied on 14 points.

Power will be hoping to end that winless drought that will see them stay top should they pick a rare victory over Mighty.

Zambia face Costa Rica with eye on 100 percent finish

5

Zambia hope to wrap-up Group C with a 100 percent run at the 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup in South Korea when they face Costa Rica on Saturday in their last pool phase game in Cheonan.

The African champions lead Group C on 6 points and are expected to win it as they enjoy a three point lead over second placed Iran whom they beat 4-2 on Wednesday.

“We are representing Africa and Zambia which is good and nice. I am happy but the war still continues we have to look at the coming games and see how we do in our games,” coach Beston Chambeshi said.

Chambeshi added that said he will not treat the match as a formality nor does he have plans to rest his star players.

The only regular expected to miss the match will be without captain and defender Solomon Sakala who is suspended after accruing two yellow cards in the group stage.

“We cannot relax and we cannot choose that we shall play these players for that game, but yes we have a reservoir of players, but it depends on how that day will be.I will see how it goes,” Chambeshi said.

Confirmation as Group C winners will see them play on May 31 against either Argentina, Germany or the number three finishers from Group F that contains USA,Senegal,Saudi Arabia and Ecuador.
