State House has dismissed rumours being speculated by a known editor that the final results of the 2011 tripartite elections have been compiled and that President Rupiah Banda has been informed about the development.
Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations Dickson Jere told ZANIS in a Press statement in Lusaka Wednesday evening that such rumours are a total lie.
Mr Jere said President Banda is not aware of the final results that are still being compiled and will, like anyone else, wait for the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) to announce the results.
He said President Banda has not met anyone or issued any statement to discuss the purported final result adding that the President will only make his position known on this matter once the final results are announced.
He said attempts by the said editor to create rumours that Patriotic Front leader Micheal Sata has won the Presidential election are against the Electoral Code of Conduct.
‘We know that there are some people who are trying to create anarchy by taking advantage of the situation. Zambians should remain calm and wait for the final results from the ECZ, Mr Jere said.
Mr Jere said Zambians should only believe the results that are coming from the ECZ.

Don’t say the people of Zambia want change. say you want change because it not everyone. that is why those differences in figures. You will be disappointed at the end. Do not claim a win before crossing the line. Accept the results as we should do. May God give you strength to stand the final results peacefully. Do not complain of ECZ because you will never be better than them. they are doing a good job. Do not compare Zambia to America even when new government comes in.
When all is done and said ECZ will announce the final result and will wish the winner good health and God’s blessings for it will have been ordained so.
My appeal to all of us is to wait for the actual result that will not be said on LT web site. We have exercised our freedom of expression and thats far only, the final word remains with ECZ.

These unexplained delays in announcing the results is highly suspicious. One selfish man hungry for power should not hold Zambia to ransom because this will lead to untold civil strife.
The ECZ are a total disgrace, they know the results and they must make them public now! Common sense tells me that Sata has won by a vast majority, I challenge the ECZ to refute this.
